Hey everyone, happy weekend!

While I clearly have to up my game if I want to generate Borba-tier discussion, I hope you'll enjoy this week's pages of this presently ongoing abloobloo bun story.

Oh and I made an official WutB imgur album for reading the entire series all in one place without having to go on sadpanda or mess around on freaking tumblr: imgur com/a/RTBm0

I know, it's just something I've seen done too much, even well. It seems like a low hanging fruit now, even if it would definitely be something they would discuss. Like I remember reading in fics where one of the first things they'd talk is "how we get kids", sometimes it go the more conservative route with them choosing to adopt, sometimes it go the abloo route with them being unable to adopt due to predprey interspecies, sometimes it go with the action flick route where they adopt a kid from some case, sometimes it go with invitro, sometimes it goes balls to the wall threesome to get Judy pregnant. But most of the time there is too much downy discussion about it. I guess I'm just burnt a bit of it.

Nice job; especially considering it's your first time typesetting

For future reference, if you can think of a slight rephrasing of some lines of my translation that might make the comic flow better in your opinion, feel free to add them in. Obviously if you want to edit, like, an entire paragraph ask me first, but if it's small enough feel free; I in no way claim that my translations are absolute and/or infallible.

Should I mention a fic where Judy gets kidnapped, forced to marry a wolf crime lord, and apparently falls in love with him, willingly has sex with him twice? Through out it all it is implied that Nick and Judy have feelings for each other, so Nick is depressed while trying to rescue Judy? And when Judy is finally rescued, she feels "hollow" from being separated from the wolf, and now is showing signs of pregnancy?

>There was a short, loud 'plop' as a pebble plunged beneath the water's surface, sinking like the stone it was. It was followed by a second, and then a third; each being idly tossed into the reservoir by a distracted looking fox. The lake level was well down; it had been a hot, dry summer. There'd even been water restrictions for the past month, no baths, only showers permitted, stuff like that. Gideon walked slowly over the dried, cracked mud, away from what was left of the town's water.

>It was funny how things could change; he remembered once, not too long ago, when this had all been green and wet and he'd fallen in somewhere or other and his overalls had got soaked and ridden up under his tail all day. Now the ground all around was dusty and broken, the grass dried into straw, the empty lake bed stretching off into the distance with only a small, dark green puddle at its center. He wouldn't be able to recognize where he'd walked, those years ago when things were simpler. All he could recall was that there were lilies.

>He wondered what had happened to everyone; Travis had moved away two years ago when his father had got a new job, Sharla had gone to study in the city, her brother was pursuing a partly-professional career in football... Judy... Judy was... he wasn't sure where. She'd never given up on the whole cop thing, he knew, but hadn't done anything dramatic about it, as it were. She'd just been around, until one day she wasn't. And here he was looking at baking of all things. He really hadn't seen his life heading that way. His foot kicked against something, a rock perhaps in the dirt. He looked down to see he'd wandered into a small depression that had been a pond, in wetter times. Now it was long dead and dry.
>>
>>9585833
>He looked closer at the parched ground. There had been lilies here until the pond had dried; he could see their withered brown leaves, as thin as tissue paper, laying flat and limp in the dust, every last drop of moisture burned away. If you looked you could see how the water had gone; the driest leaves had the longest stems, speaking of feet of water to grow through. As the pond shrank the stems grew shorter and shorter until they must have been growing flat on the damp mud itself. It was sort of a pity really, them being unable to move at all while their whole world shrank and dried up around them. He wondered, briefly, if plants felt anything, if the knew, somehow, that they were doomed or if they held out some sort of hope of survival.

>And there it was, the stout, somewhat ugly bulb from which the plant had grown, disturbed by his footfalls, knocked out of its casing of dried mud. He bent down and picked it up, turning it over in his hands. Though at first it had looked dead there was life in it still, beneath the dry outer husk was a patch of white, living bulb. It had even put out a few weak roots at its base, as if searching for water even now. He supposed that was all you could do, keep trying till the bitter end. He stood there, holding it for some time, thinking. The bakery thing could work out fine, maybe he should call his father after all...

>It took him a minute or two to scoop out a handful of dried dirt, digging down until he found dampness. Carefully he placed the bulb in it then covered it over, gently stamping the dirt down atop it. He turned and headed back homewards, noticing the slowly setting sun lighting up the thick layer of clouds above in hues of burning orange and blood red. There was a distant rumbling, echoing over the hills. A storm was coming.

Yes, unfortunately you're on the actually mature minority of the fandom, who can grasp deeper and more controversial material. The fact such innovative and daring piece gets flak here and on reddit shows the level of the average poster, we already knew this from "lmao 4chan leejun" but this makes it clear that people here are just out of touch with reality and never discuss things with real people, this basically became an echo chamber. Threads lately have been nothing but bashing the author because he's not drawing the constant "Judy and Nick are happy x-D" garbage, basically trying to drown out any content that isn't what they like. The dude has been basically pumping professional tier comic content and been getting shit on just because of it not being happy shippy wildehopps, fucking hell we get a different shippy shit all day fucking allow people to do what they want for once. I love the theme, the characters play differently from the movie, more mature mind you, not OOC, more serious about what they want, Nick religiousness is as much freedom on his development as him being a prostitute sometimes in his hustles, their arguments fit their views perfectly and the dramatization makes it clear how serious this is for both of them. Everything people complain about are actually the strong points of the comic. I hope Borba doesn't feel demotivated to make another challenging piece like that, I can't wait for the ending Wednesday, it's going to be amazing no matter what happens. And he already passed with flying colors on his initial desire that was to make people discuss about a heavy subject such as the comic focus, check reddit, check deviantart, check ANYWHERE, including here: EVERYONE was talking about it, people collided harder than Judy and Nick over it, people learned, people matured. It's more than what can be said about any other work in this fandom, this actually changed people's live and views.

Ok but all of the ooc aside I think the writing is weird, pacing is off and the art while good is way too exaggerated on the reactions and expressions, when subtly always works wonders for serious moments.

And I doubt I matured from this comic I'll always be an asshole about things.

And its not really, well written man. Borbas comic doesn't help us as the reader side with either Nick or Judy and not in a "neither sides are good" reason. It makes both Nick and Judy disgustingly self-centered and not even considerate of each others feelings.

Judy was going to not even tell Nick, which since it was his child is kind of a shitty thing to do on her part. She also considered her career first, which while I can completely understand there is no way a place like Zootopia doesn't offer maternity leave.
Government positions CANNOT fire someone or prevent them from doing their work based on tons of things, INCLUDING pregnancy. She wouldnt lose her promotion or anything, it'd probably be delayed at best.

Nick on the other hand, simply is just thinking of his own feelings and not Judys. He wants the kid but he's not the one giving birth so hes acting like a child about it, calling murder on her.

Both characters make me sick on writing, because they seem less like characters and more stereotypes of both sides of the issue, while the story isn't meant to have that.

So yeah, I think it's kind of badly written????

Also to the "as OOC as Nick being a prostitute." part.. there's a difference between a porn comic and a comic meant to be serious and invoke discussion man.

Of course they are. That's what happens when you're with emotions running high and on uncompromising situations, there is no middle ground that will satisfy both, they know that from the point where they realize they have different positions. Judy realizes Nick position and holds her ground, seeing that, Nick holds his ground accordingly. Even worse, he hurts her, she hurts him, even when both say how much one mean to another, they admit they won't ever change their position. They care about each other and their feelings, they just have to think for themselves too, especially when they have their own desires for their future, Nick with a family, Judy with her career.

Sure, real life couples argument normally involve more frugal issues and thus can have a middle ground where the couple can work around, but this isn't one of those. You can't half terminate a pregnancy, you either carry it to the end or not.

>You're going over technicalities when the whole idea is to represent Judy desire for her career. You could probably say something about "futuristic aritficial womb" justified by the climatic walls as the solution to their problem. Read between the lines.
You don't need to represent Judy's desire for a career: her entire character is already built around that. Dismissing an argument as 'going over technicalities' is a yet another piss poor way to compensate for not being able to offer up an argument of your own.

>Agreed, but already answered on a previous post. Both are hurt and both are acting on emotions of the moment.
Again where? The problem isn't that Nick and Judy are riding high on emotions, the problem is that they're not communicating; that there hasn't been any real back and forth between them before, during or after this whole mess. They didn't discuss the kid situation before it became an issue, they're just making obnoxious demands of each other while it's happening, and nick walks away avoiding any future communication. There are no lines to read between.

>Stereotypes exist for a reason, you've watched the movie. It is not surprising for that to happen in real life, believe me.
Yes, stereotypes do exist in real life but in fiction they're boring, cheesy, tired. It's bad writing.

>Never mentioned a porn comic, I mentioned several interpretations where Nick is a drugdealer or a mafioso or anything before becoming a pawsicle hustler.

>Where
See >>9588647

>You don't need to represent Judy
You didn't actually argue about anything here, the whole exchange was to show there was no middle ground. I'm sure if Borba took days writing it he would still not have found a way to make that situation since people would complain that there is a law in some states in the US that circumvent the problem.

> they're not communicating
But they are? Are we reading the same comic? Judy said she didn't want the child, Nick asked why, she said why, Nick tried to convince her, she refused to change her mind, Judy tried to change his mind, he refused to change his mind, both are going separate ways. There was TONS of communication.

>It's bad writing.
Arguable, most of Zootopia characters were stereotypes, even if they've been shown to be deeper than that. Judy wasn't choosing to terminate solely due to that she could, Nick wasn't choosing to have a family solely due to "letting her light shine". She wanted her career, Nick wanted a family. Stereotypes, with deeper reasoning behind. Same stuff as the movie.

>Bullshit you didn't say that at all
I thought you wouldn't assume a specific fic. There were some fics where Nick was a prostitute and thought that was extreme enough for disbelief, there were others where Nick was a mafioso, others where he was a drug dealer. Both are pretty big things, a pawsicle hustler who was a mafioso or a drug-dealer would be as ridiculous as a deeply religious fox.

It is when one is seeing their whole life being undone in front of them and their only support turning on them and refusing to even budge because their desired future is a future where your future that you bled and fought for is ruined, and your future is a future where theirs is ruined. It's a complicated situation, to say "it's not how real people argue" is stupid, obviously if they were perfectly calm it would have gone more like the average conversation between couples, but they aren't, they are freaking out and that's what happens when emotions take over.

>>
>>9590293
No anon you still don't understand. It's not about being calm or rational, it's about talking. Talking to each other. Nick never says that he's wanted kids his whole life, never tells her that he's dreamed of starting a family, he never tells Judy that he has religious objections to abortion. On Judy's side she never tells Nick what her thoughts on family are. There's no mention at all if she'd be up for having kids in a couple of years, or if they could maybe think about adoption if it's medically challenging for her to give birth. Hell they don't even talk about making an appointment with a doctor to find out what the medical issues are. There is absolutely zero communication between them about, not about their wants, not about their needs and most certainly not about their relationship. They both just make unreasonable demands and then nick walks away. This is a stupid argument made by stupid caricatures with no soul or substance to it. You think this comic is portraying real life drama when the truth is; it's just lifeless.

The arch of your foot helps dissipate the force of putting weight on your foot before it can go up your leg bones. Having flat feet puts stresses where your body doesn't want stress. Some people have it and have no issues, but it can be painful to others.

On that note, would Nick and other long-bodied mammals have joint pain? I have no idea how muscles and tendons work, but those tiny legs and that long torso probably aren't a good combination.

>Hell they don't even talk about making an appointment with a doctor to find out what the medical issues are.

Honestly, this was probably the point where I stopped taking the comic seriously. Neither side suggested to find out what actual issues there could be. Anything from the research done on other interspecies pregnancies, the possible outcome for the child, whether Judy could even safely carry the child. Instead, Judy just assumes the worst possible scenarios without even talking to a doctor (who she would have to talk to anyway to get an abortion) and Nick doesn't suggest going to the doctor to get some insight on the case and see if his girlfriend was in any actual danger. The couple who probably had the first interspecies child probably didn't know what the result was going to be either, but apparently it happened. Again, and again, and again, albeit rarely.

Also, just to point it out, the page that talked about interspecies couples had one pair that was a female fox and a male wolf twice her size, while another couple was a pig and a goat. Size shouldn't be that big of an issue, and who knows how far away cousins a pig and a goat are.

It's one of those things that it's best not to think to hard about, like medication. Doctors in Zootopia would need a lifetime or two to study up on all the different types of mammals and their biology, not to mention the vast range of suitable doses needed for medication and other drugs.

I expect that it's more like veterinarians. They have all the general mammal knowledge, and probably specialists more familiar with certain genus types. A canid doctor or feline doctor.

Like every vet in a city 'in theory' has the knowledge to administer care to horses and elephants, but probably better suited to a specialist with more familiarity of that species type.
>>
>>9591149
you're right

Another thing that's best not to think too hard about is how you would set up a public bathroom that can be used by everything from a giraffe to a field mouse
>>
>>9591182
A solid point, but then wouldn't hospitals and other medical centers need to be absolutely humongous and vastly overstaffed to account for all the different types of specialists they would need?
>>
>missed all the Borba disucssion
>can't tell if this/these anon(s) are actually trying to say its good or are just trolling

I just want to say Judy is not attached to her career; she's attached to the ideals of her career. She doesn't give a fuck about being a cop. She was willing to throw away her lifelong dream because she thought she was unworthy and incapable of doing what she set out to do.

To say that NOW she thinks of herself as some symbol for small mammals, some huge figure to look up to, is such a hugely dramatic shift in character that it's complete bullshit, and fuck anybody trying to say that it's okay or that it's feasible.

Lotta the bigger hospitals DO. On site oral surgeon and such for someone who had their teeth shattered. Someones gotta work on it immediately to save their teeth, not something you can put off for 3-4 days. As well as other 'speciality' type stuff.

And many private practices operate out of a hospital. They basically rent a room and rent access to some of the hospitals nicer equipment, but they are a private practice and not officially a part of the hospital or it's staff. So there may be specialists not part of the hospital, but still in the building.

Smaller hospitals out in the rural areas are more to patch em up till they're stable enough to be transported to a hospital that can accommodate them.

Okay, so now imagine having to keep on site oral surgeons for hundreds of different mammals, lets be fair and say each of them specialist in a dozen different species, you'd still need about 10-20 specialists available on site 24/7 just for that one area alone. The logistics are mind boggling. Best not to think about it too much.

I think a dozen species is lowballing it. Zoos don't need that many kind of specialists to administer treatment to the animals. Veteranarians are trained for all manner of animals, from horses to pet mice and birds.

And 80% of the mammal stuff is the same, just the dosages and such are probably different. And those can be consulted before administering prescriptions.

>Don has a habit of choking Dewey out during some of their more vicious nights of lovemaking.
>When he's staring down the younger jackal, looking into those happy, cheerful eyes, he sometimes just has a dark urge.
>He wants to see them lifeless, staring off into the voice.
>And so, Don lays prone over Dewey, his lips smacking against the jackal's as he thrusts himself into his partner.
>Warmth and softness best describes his lover; both outside, and in.
>Dewey's twitching legs wrap around the coyote's waist, and his head head falls back as he groans out a breathy 'Oh, fuck,'
>His thrusts speed up, and he allows a rare smile of his own as Dewey's reaction is immediate;
>Heat and tightness soon become his main focus.
>Once-idle paws grasp the bedsheets and his wrist as the younger jackal gasps and lets out a quick yelp.
>He can feel Dewey's meat occasionally slap against his stomach, and can see the spray of precum glitter in the air before it lands on the bed or his partner.
>The legs around his waist squeeze, and try to keep him in place as he feels himself growing closer.
>He growls as he jerks his paw out of Dewey's grasp, and presses it against his throat, just under the jaw.
>Those innocent, caring eyes stare up at him in fear for just a moment as he continues thrusting away, pulling back extra hard against the legs that were trying to keep him in place.
>A wheezing sound follows, along with a choking gasp, as he reaches his other paw up and presses the tip of his lover's muzzle against the bed, keeping his paw over their nose and mouth.
>He watches Dewey's eyes squeeze shut, and feels a wimper die down in their throat.

Er, what medical knowledge do you think vets HAVE?

You can't be a vet with 4 years of schooling like a liberal arts degree. You actually NEED a Doctorate to be a vet. Just as a MD does.

Their ability to play sports and drive cars is
irrelevant. A broken bone is a broken bone. A failing kidney is a failing kidney. A fungal infection is a fungal infection. The zootopia world does not change what a doctor would actually be fixing with his patients.

Honestly a physiologist or Psychiatrist would be more likely to be specialized than the doctors. I doubt you would treat a pack mentality predator the same as a herd mentality sheep.

Sure a broken bone is a broken bone, but a vet can assume a good chunk of their cases are going to be 'my dog swallowed a spoon' or 'my horse has stood on a rock and is limping.' The unusual cases are just that; unusual. But here's another point: animals aren't going to complain to the hospital admin that the vet wasn't very clean or was less than professional. Animals aren't going to flinch and hide at the sight of a needle. They're not about to sue the hospital because the vet had to amputate. They aren't going to scream"I'm not numb! I'm not numb!" and demand another vet come treat them instead.

I'm not trying to say vets are poorly trained or less capable than a doctor, I'm trying to say that vets have an entirely different set of challenges that lets them have a lot more freedom than a doctor ever would.

I'm not sure what your argument is.

Your going on a tangent about the animals being sentient and using toasters and such, and more concerned that the patients are going to sue them for something?

My point is that the numerous species is likely not to be as crippling a problem as it seemed. And that the doctors (Vets) are likely equipped to treat more than a dozen mammal species, so it won't need a thousand different doctors to staff each hospital.

My point is that no, there is far too much variety involved for a couple of vets/doctors to handle. What happens when 30 sheep are involved in a car accident? What happens when a platypus has his hand stuck in a blender? What happens when the rodent specialist is unavailable and the rhino doctor has to stitch the gash on a shrews knee? I don't think you've fully grasped the enormity of what a Zootopia hospital would be like.

>Why aren't bunnies supposed to be called "cute" by other animals in Zootopia?

>From Rich&Byron: We think that’s more Judy’s personal preference. We don’t know if every bunny thinks that it’s an insult to be called cute. But we think that Judy, her whole life has been trying to do something that’s unique to a bunny, like becoming a police officer. So being called cute kind of feels like an impediment to achieving that goal. So we don’t know if it’s a universal feeling amongst bunnies but certainly with Judy, she doesn’t like to be referred as just being one of the flock.

Am I the only one who was slightly annoyed that they couldn't run a fucking DNA test during the whole Savage thing?

How would a DNA test have helped?
>>
>>9592819
I have a problem.
I automatically read this in Jeff Kaplan's voice.
>>
>>9592881
They said it themselves that they didn't know what was causing Preds to turn.
>>
>>9592781
How can you tell?
>>
>>9592921
So... why would DNA analysis help?
>We've found that all the savage DNA came from traditionally predatory species
>>
>>9592932
That badger saying "We still don't know what's causing them to turn." sorta gave it away.
>>
>>9592975
Think of it this way.
If someone's been injured, you can't just put an ice pack on them and BOOM they're good to go.
It's alot easier to fix something when you know what's wrong
>>
>>9592842
I'm more wondering how there has been no documented cases of the savage behavior.

I mean, Night Howler is obviously known about. It's not some plant in the middle of the rainforest, it's used for industrial agriculture. They've SEEN it affect mammals that way. Even Judy's family has anecdotal evidence enough to make it word of mouth warning about it.

Yet no one decided to go on WebMD and type in the symptoms and go 'huh. Ya know, it seems unlikely, but the symptoms do line up with exposure to night howler. Maybe we should run a test for that.' Like diagnosing west nile virus, just because it's fucking unlikely doesn't mean they would dismiss it as a possibility.

I have a hard time believing there has never been a case study on a pesticide that causes vicious behavioral changes on exposure to.
>>
>>9583661
that's like kind of insulting to the author
there's way more to this fandom than PS, anyways

I think you're confuse about what a DNA test is.

I should care because?

Am I retarded or does this guy still not make sense

I don't think you understand, there was nothing wrong with their DNA. Nothing. They had a drug in their system that no one could detect.
>>
>>9583661
Pack street is on Hiatus until the Roommates stories are completed at minimum. Weaver said he was finishing that first before going back to PS or other projects. Which shouldn't take long considering the pace, they've done 4-5 chapters in 1 month, versus the old MAYBE 1 per month they used to be. So they are really powering through to meet the ending.

It wasn't just "exposure to Night Howler"

It was exposure to extremely concentrated Night Howler, mixed with whatever else was in "Doug's Bucket O' Terrorism"
>>
I hope that someone has a new thread ready for when we hit page 10.
>>
>>9593067
Presumably Doug heavily altered the Nighthowler bulbs into the much more potent drug they used. Bonnie's brother came out of his moment of savagery in a matter of moments. The missing mammals remained under the effects indefinitely.

AND MAKE SURE YOU CHANGE THE ZTARCHIVE LINK TO .COM

keep it .org just to piss this guy off.

I think he's just talking about a full-spectrum blood test.

I think we can safely assume that whatever Doug did to the night howler made it undetectable.

Near the bottom of page 9, so new thread is ready,

How the hell did it even get changed to .org?

The link to the archive front page is literally right above the previous thread link, and it says .com.
>>
>>9593441
Some anon set up a script to generate the OP text and I guess they entered in .org for ztarchive instead of .com. The past few threads have just been people copy/pasting it without realizing it's wrong, I assume.
>>
>>9593503
>>9593441
sorry, op here :v didn't even notice it was .org
>>
>>9593503
Is it literally that hard to copypaste the previous OP, update it, and post it manually?

Someone had to make a script to do that automatically?
>>
>>9593544
Idk, it didn't seem that necessary to me but whatever. As long as the threads get made.
