A few possibilities: Remmy should be torn between getting a gift like a blender that is effectively a gift to the house, and getting something that would just be a nice gift for Betty personally. Johnny reveals that he spent his gift money on a video game. Johnny leaves the store to take a phone call in private, and Remmy asks why the hell it needed to be private, etc. The conflict does not need to be resolved, just introduced. The endless bullshit present in any Hallmark or home goods store (those weird central escalators, mirrors everywhere) could easily become troublesome for a store intended to serve animals of widely differing sizes; sales staff could also not think Johnny is Remmy's son. Conflict with the store and domestic conflict within.Then, 2) Some sort of more serious event happens. I'll leave this wholly to you - it's your series, and choosing this even will greatly impact what side(s) of the characters are shown. So far, events have been wholly domestic, and while alright, it doesn't provide ground for carving out some sickkkkkk character development, which the cast desperately needs. The event should be disruptive enough to force mission abort and some unusually high tension or cooperation between Remmy and Johnny.Best of luck, dawg. I hope I was helpful.
