We need Betty -> Remmy aftercare denial. They have rough play, and when Remmy wants to cuddle to wind down Betty just spits in his face, slugs him in the gut, and emasculates him for daring to ask for her to do that.

Here I go.
Look at this pic, it has a good, on model Nick.
As you can see the legs are roughly the same length of the head, and half of the torso.
The shoulders are very slouched, pointing downward. What you have drawn is good for a generic anthro, however Zootopia's mammals have this feral-like characteristic.
Also the head (only the head, the neck is fine) is a bit larger, roughly the size of the torso.
The length of the arms is fine, since they should reach roughly the purple point.

Yup, I think so. I was really shit at raccoons way back when I did the tundratown one so I rerolled a polar bear and drew him instead. Decided only recently to figure out raccoons again, thus the other two. I should probably get around to doing some more of him.

I see aboslutely no potential there.
I am not much of a Marty shipper but Charlie fits to him more.
Avo would probably be constantly annoyed by his tantrums and Marty would be annoyed by her "illiterate stupidity" and constant jabs at him.
Charlie in my opinion would just not pay attention to his rants and would wait until the caring side of Marty emmerges.

Even as fuck buddies I can't see Avo and Marty together.
I love size difference but this is practically micro/macro. I want the girl to actually feel the guy inside. Marty is probably the size of her finger.

This is the same reason I find Martina x Remmy unappealing.

How is the guy who already thinks all preds are violent and impulsive, getting beaten up by violent and impulsive predators, going to fix him?

I mean this is Weaver so it would probably be justified "remmy needs to learn and accept predators being violent prey beaters its their culture" like always but still, it would mostly confirm what Remmy thought and making him leave the right choice.

Animal ears need to on the side on a human head. 2 sets of ears is just weird, and the blank space with nothing is really weird.
No animal's ear holes are on the top of head. It looks like that because they don't have the big human brain, and the fur on the side makes their head look wider than their skull really is.

He is at his bottom, he hates his life, despite being a narcissi he probably hates himself for letting himself get into this situation.

And you would have him been beaten up by the same group that you so much justify?

If I was little bit racist and prejudiced, and got beaten by a gang of niggers, I would hate niggers for the rest of my life.

What if, you genius, maybe just maybe, preds showed him they are not what he believes them to be?
What if Al and the pack stood by him?

Wouldn't that teach him some humility and show his prejudice?

Let's try a different way then, shall we?

>Remmy is surrounded by angry predators out for blood
>He left his whistle at home, feeling abandoned
>They start to beat on him
>A sudden voice brings the attention of the mob to a doe at the end of the alley, who stands watching in surprise
>Velvet runs to Remmy's aid without further hesitation, demanding his innocence and that the predators leave him alone
>She's harassed for intervening, her purse and folders are grabbed
>It's discovered she's a gov't employee
>Though she isn't a sheep, her claims of Remmy's innocence and gov't affiliation turn the mob against her
>She's beaten while Remmy is held back
>One strikes harder than he intended, with claws open, gashing her throat
>The mob disperses suddenly, knowing they've gone too far
>Remmy kneels by Velvet as she begins to die

>Drawn by the noise, Al comes running into the alley ready to fight, only to see his fiancée lying in her own blood
>He hurries wordlessly to her side
>She grasps his shirt, trying to give some final word, but her windpipe whistles and no words come out
>She dies in his arms
>Tears stream from Al's eyes, but not a sniffle or sob escapes his lips as he clutches the doe's lifeless body against his chest, staring at nothing
>The police and paramedics have to pry them apart when they arrive

>In the days to come, Al resigns as Alpha of the pack, leaving Betty to take over
>At her first meeting, she firmly but unhappily tells Remmy he's being removed from the Pack, and that no more Prey will be admitted

Super late ass response that's going to be ignoring the dismissive handwaves on specific characters:

Marty for one had a bit of dialogue really early on where he commented on remmy being a meat eater. Something like "where anyone can be anything" 'with a bitter tone'. Guessing he had little dreams crushed at one point turning him into a aggresive douche.

Remmy constantly talks from experience about being bullied, picked on or singled out which is why I think he's so damn defensive, quick to judge and thinks everything is aimed at him. I mean, he's a shrimpy hornless ram, so getting shit on a lot for that makes sense.

>given how the females tend to be the aggressors when it comes to animals
Huh, that's a very interesting observation. When analyzing zootpian society, it's too easy to draw direct parallels and forget we're talking about habits and customs and based on animal life.

>why do we have womens day now?
it was originally socialists' idea, but over time just moved into celebration of femininity and nowadays is just a day one is supposed act with additional courtesy towards the ladies, becaue it's a nice thing to do.

Back on topic: I think this is an interesting theme and exploring dychotonomy within species (such as lioness' being atual huntresses and lions being lazy pompous slobs) would be a cool idea.

Like, imagine a lioness CEO and a department of lazy lion interns. Or a lioness CEO and a lion CAO, with the board siding with the lion because he's got mane, despite the lioness making a valid point. It could highlight real-life issues without being overly obnoxious about it, like Zootopia did.

I think faster than I type. Consider I said it now and "yes really" because the males are the conquerors, the warriors and hunters and have always been in vast, overwhelming majority of cases. Nitpicking is useful for storytelling, but unfortunately doesn't apply in real world.

But we're talking about the animal world and it's important to create meaningful parallel while still not being too "in your face" about it and respecting the animal compontent of this society. It's ultimately unimportant what the argument is again, but it is possible to make the reader to empathise with the lioness, particularly if she's right.

The key here is to unravel a story to promote meritocracy, not a feminist agenda to make it work. Since most readers lack the capacity of detaching the story from current events (linoheart is literally trump and also orange lmao!) and therefore most will only see the gender issue, it would be useful to include a member of the opposite sex going through a similar struggle, which would lioness helps him to overcome (and have a complimentary OTP). I'm at a loss when it comes to what species would he be, however.

I see it more a discussion about "how to worldbuild"? There's little shitposting here at the moment, we're just swapping ideas and I think this is one of the best conversations I've had in these threads in months.

>>8069305
First off, there are many sub-types of every movement and you've made a set of assumptions on how the Zootopian society works and looks like using a carbon copy of what I believe some European country despite Zootopia having a distinctly American flavour.

Anyway, while socialism seems kinda on point, your conservatives don't really make sense. What you're describing is agrarian party (which tend to be rather culturally conservative, but can be just as socialist economically as the next guy).
>>
>>8069301
The problem in setting such a ridiculous anecdote is that you're basically going with the thing that made people hate the "in your face" tough female protagonist to start with. Unless you set the female with a point of view and the male with another point of view in a issue where both solutions are good (on a situation where there could not be a "best solution", specifically), but show the female solution not being discussed throughoutly because of that, it is going to end up "women try to fix the world but dicks won't let them #killallmen". Zootopia set a view where there were agreeable points on both sides, Zoodystopia didn't, that's what I mean.

We already had the contrary with spotted Hyena dudes IIRC, though it didn't involve anything interspecies.

>Zistopia as I'm not very familiar with the comic.
I wasn't referring to it, I stopped midway. I was referring to the original script, where Nick instantly places Predators as wronged minority that is only mistreated because Preys are evil. Throughout the movie it is shown that predators are basically blameless for everything and every prey would stomp Pred necks for fun on saturday morning camp trips (Loan scene). Meanwhile Predators only want to howl and smile without being shocked but Preys don't like when they do that because they are perpetually scared of something Predators *NEVER* did (Judy in Wilde Times).

Zistopia is not about prejudice anymore, it's about crazy shit and I don't want to read it because I know it will disappoint me deeply.

Anyway, if you want to captivate the reader, don't use directly lift and shift real-world concepts just because they're convenient. If I were to write a political story, I'd probably do a blend of American and Ancient Greece city-state politics, or perhaps even maily a greek polis political life thing in an american dressing. I like to believe all cities and and mammals had normal non-pun names. But then maybe after some war or other event. All species got super national and proud of their race. So the un-names started. After that the biggest populations of towns outside Zootopia named their cities after their species (like Bunnyburrow, it could have been a Southshire or something.)

What would engines of war look like in Zootopia? Would there be greater variety of tanks and planes for different sized animals? Or would certain mammals stick to specific types? >implying sanctioned chemical warfare
>trying to make rodents dangerous

Guns of that size wouldn't be able to fire ammunition more than a few feet, if that.
It's doubtful they'd have the force to be able to pierce skin.

It'd be like those plastic missile launchers that come with toys like transformers, only even weaker because they'd be even smaller.

Rodent warfare would have to be fought strictly with vehicles because there's no way guns of that size would be viable.
>>
>>8070676
>>implying sanctioned chemical warfare
geneva convention is a human invention. I don't know maybe you're right. I personally have the headcanon zootopians had never developed black powder guns because animals are naturally armed and gun feedback was unbearable to sensitive animal ears.

>>
>>8070696
The geneva convention, sure, but it's doubtful that the world of zootopia would allow chemical warfare any more than ours.

Even compressed air guns wouldn't work for small rodents because of the size. They'd be restricted to tension based at best for personal ranged weapons like bows or guns with springs.

Well, there's no answer to their attitude towards chemical warfare, but it would appear they're accustomed to peace so I think we can both agree they would find the idea abhorrent. Whether it's legal and how frequent armed conflicts are is something we'll probably never know.

>They'd be restricted to tension based at best for personal ranged weapons like bows or guns with springs.

>>8070676
If we are going to actually get into this, and I hope we are not because I don't have much experience with guns, I like to think rodent guns are pathetically weak, but not actually intended to go against anything much larger than themselves.

The bullets are probably shaped differently too. Probably larger, and drastically reducing ammo capacity, and likely requiring more strength from the operator. There are a lot of angles to consider, but I think this is more of an engineering and scope problem than an impossibility. Then again, I don't know much about guns! It's possible that rodent firearms would rely on drastically different warheads for penetrative power, rather than velocity.

It's unlikely that they are going to be a actual combat threat to a larger mammal though, outside of their real importance of reconnaissance

That, and smolperators are a funny idea

>>
>>8070770
Badass? Sure.
Effective against larger mammals? Still questionable since crossbows rely on heavy tension to be able to fire, and the smaller the crossbow, the less range and piercing power it'd have.

It'd probably only have enough piercing power to prick a larger mammal at ranges of a couple feet, and even then simple clothing or even their natural fur thickness might be enough to protect them.

>>8070813
Against things around the same size as themselves, mouse sized crossbows would probably be more than effective at piercing things.

The problem with traditional firearms is that there just wouldn't be enough black powered to propel the bullet. You can look up the 2mm Kolibri pistol, the smallest gun ever made and find that it was extremely weak to the point of near uselessness beyond a few feet, and even that would be the size of a bazooka for a mouse.

Size is also an issue for compressed air based firearms, as they would require all the users to have a flamethrower sized compressed air backpack to be useful, and the guns themselves would be overly large and likely would also require a separate rodent to act as a loader for the pellets.

But I do agree that the tactirats are very cute.
>>
>>8070863
Good enough. I do know that the worlds smallest pistol can penetrate a tin can, so I'm willing to believe that with some dedicated engineering it might be a credible threat. Particularly if I don't look too closely at the physics.

I'm mostly seeing a dedicated firearm for a rodent being closer to a harpoon-ish sort of thing. A few feet for a rodent is actually probably a respectable engagement range though. It's absolutely unarguable though that any rodent personal weapon would be threatening to anything larger than, say, a least weasel
>>
>>8070906
it's not important for them to take down larger mammals. as the filename above says, recon and logistics wins wars, so this is where they'd excel. few squads of rodents can fuck up your supply lines like there's no tomorrow.

Hurry up, NewZhan. I need some more little hustlers and bulges! (not at the same time)

The vanishingly small powder charge and extremely short barrel length are what kills the idea of mouse sized firearms if you ask me. Even if all they used were sub-caliber rounds the range and power of the weapons would probably not even work on their scale.
Cannons are a different matter, though.

With what? firecracker sized satchel charges? Suicide wire chewers? Shitting in your cupboard?

which is still larger than a rodent would be able to use personally, it would need to be mounted on a vehicle like I said earlier.

>>8070948
I could see that, yeah.

Looking at why I types, the filename of the picture in the post I replied to about larger mammals is "m4-180lb-tactical-crossbow-7969.jpg" and I don't see how that tells me anything.

The other part of my post was mostly talking about the restrictions of size for gunpowder and compressed air based ranged weapons which would realistically be comparable to our military grade heavy weapons and would be extremely clunky to use.

Mmm, probably.
But, I remembered, coilguns are very similar but more compact, they could probably be miniaturized enough to launch a needle at high enough speed. An ultracapacitor should provide enough charge.
Still, one shot only and needs a long enough barrel, so maybe useful for sniper rifles
