>>52370106>INLAND EMPIRE [Legendary: Failure] - Wolter's not gay. Writing the aardwolf twins, I set out with a VERY specific goal in mind, and an artistic plan, which was essentially to avoid as many "twin tropes" as I could while still playing off the concept I didn't want them to be Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. As fun as it is for me to write characters who'll finish each other's sentences and mimic each other's behaviors, I didn't want the twins to be that. I didn't want them to have some special vaguely-psychic connection or deeper empathy or anything trite like that. They look alike and they have similar(ish) tastes, but I wanted to make it very clear they were each, definitively, their own mammal.

Trutru and the other friends probably ended up in Bellwether facilities after alongside with other prey. Dawn probably wondered WTF Doug was smoking to go into a mob boss daughter marriage.
>>52370706The bouquet throw was reshot with Fru-Fru's double and noone questioned it. Like they didn't ask why the studio invented Tru-Tru as her cousin. The Gerbil brothers had already used hypnotists to help Mr.Big's daughter "get into character" and he never even knew. They had Tru-Tru's actress say Nighthowler in a sound booth and even she didn't know what they were up to. The network didn't even question why a reality tv show needed CGI.And then the season premiere came out.
>>52371252planeswalker betty with remmy and femmy
>>52370706It's OK Doug got what he deserved
>>52371104The anger and fury was immediately directed at Fru-Fru over social media. Then the network dropped the show as the protests started outside their headquarters. Then Fru-Fru revealed everything. The outcry was redirected back at the network, and the studio headed by the Gerbil Jerks, with a renewed and greater fury. The worst damned that happened to Zootopia in years, and two beady eyed little executives co-opted it because the only way they could internalize an audience's resentment and anger was in ratings, and therefore, a quarterly profit report.Controversy just meant money.
>>52371294Actually, re-used assets and all that but they did put Woolter / Jesse in that sequence.

Zootopia back on Disney's radar?https://insidethemagic.net/2022/11/zootopiahow-disney-is-fixing-a-missed-opportunity-zg1mmb/
>>52380134can I get a TLDR i can't tolerate reading articles like these
>>52380090you did
>>52380173>Let’s review the evidence presented. Thus far, Disney has incorporated Nick and Judy back into their merchandise line, brought them back to the Parks as Meet and Greet characters, began production of an area and attraction for Shanghai Disneyland, teased logical and probable plans for an expansion at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and created a new spinoff series on Disney+ That doesn’t exactly fit the description of a project the company has little interest in.
>>52380235Can confirm I saw them drawing this
>>52380173That Disney is now realizing Zootopia exists and they're focusing on slowly reintegrating the movie back to the public consciousness via theme parks and media. So internet speculation.

>It had been ten years since the two first met. Somehow it didn't feel like that many to him.>Not because it felt like fewer than that had actually gone by. That was a feeling as familiar to him in his growing maturity as the dull ache in his joints, and the little grey hairs poking out at the end of his muzzle. No-- what struck him the most as that date came into view was that it felt like --more-- years than ten had passed.>It made sense as he thought it over. That was a fateful day, even if it didn't seem so at first. So much turned around on such short notice, it was almost dizzying in retrospect.>And not just his career: his social circles, spending habits, plans for the future, his affects-- his general worldview. And it all hinged on one little chance encounter. Even ten years ago now seemed so foreign, like it had more in common with his kithood than the present.>Ten years! That phrase kept rattling in his head. She was older now than he was when they met, and with a generous lead that was only growing wider. Somehow this made sense, too. She had changed a great deal with him.(1/4)
>>52383406>He studied her motions from about 20 foxtrots off. It was in the Academy banquet hall, the reception after that year's graduation ceremony. He never did seem to get more fond of the receptions, but he always tolerated them.>Regardless, he had made it a habit to take the first opportunity to slink away once he had shook enough paws and introduced himself to enough cadets with shiny golden braids and badges. He enjoyed a party most when he had a chance to be just an observer and not always a participant. A chance to take in the scents and read the room. Working the room was more her job.>His focus was usually on her, though. Even after all these years, she was the center of his attention.>She wasn't any less of a social butterfly as she was ten years ago, but as he looked back on that time he could sense she had changed. The image that stood out to him the most in his memory was just how perky she was then-- restless feet, straight posture, bright voice, head held up as high as those beautiful ears. Vigour of youth if he had ever seen it. But she always did seem to be holding some restless tension in her.>She sure didn't seem --old--, now, just more settled in. It reminded him quite a bit of himself at that age. Now that zeal was turning over to stateliness. Now her steps seemed to have more weight and purpose in them, and her presence in that hall had grown, even if she was still the smallest officer to ever make Captain.>All of her affects seemed so familiar, in a way that he couldn't quite put his claw on. It wasn't just because she --was-- so familiar. It somehow went beyond her. It was something in the rhythm of her steps, and maybe in the way that she cupped her paws behind her back-->But then the pieces came together. She no longer carried herself so much like he knew a bunny does-- and he had gotten to know plenty in ten years. No-- hers stood out in how much like a vixen's they were.(2/4)
>>52383418>After all these years she now had with her a little piece of those ineffable qualities that only another fox could truly pick up on. Like an imprint of himself.>His gaze was now so fixed that he didn't even notice when his lips began to part, and his paw came up to touch his cheek.>It seemed so strange for it to only come into focus now. Doubly when he considered that they had been married for almost six of those last ten years. How did he only see it now? Some changes he could see more clearly, but others, he supposed, were subtler and more gradual than that.>He stood in thought for a moment longer, his head moving with her as she glided along to greet another group of mammals-- ones quite a bit larger than her, but who still bent down in respect of her stature.>His thoughts turned in towards himself then. So he had given a piece of himself to her-- but what about herself to him? He searched a little more for his past self.>He did feel a little more comfortable in his own hide. That was one thing. It seemed less and less like a necessity for him to need to always put up that wall, to always be so cool and disaffected. There was a time when he couldn't imagine even letting his guard down enough to tell a story over dinner.>He had attended enough bunny parties and festivals-- and a wedding or two --that he did admit he had begun to grow a certain appreciation for them. That was another thing. The first trip out to Bunnyburrow for the Carrot Days festival was marked with dread every step of the way there, and then he found himself having the time of his life by the end and only dreading the fact that he'd have to leave it and go back to work. That, too, was hard to imagine once.>He broke from this line of thought for a moment to pull back his sleeve and look at his watch. Only four minutes had passed.(3/4)
>>52383431>Four minutes! This chance to break away from the crowd and be an observer had lasted all of four minutes. He remembered the second ceremony he attended and how he had stood out on the balcony for over an hour, his tail to the party, only going back in to join the crowd when a Sergeant from another precinct wanted to see him.>Something like that had happened in every ceremony since, but it was only now that he made note that, in each successive one one, he had spent less time devoted to this ritual than the last. Each time he grew less conscious of the time passing and more deeply invested in conversation, more able to simply let that time pass. He had expected to dread even this social gathering, but now it was clear he had actually been enjoying it the whole way through, no matter what he expected or insisted to himself.>That was it. That, more than anything else, is what Judy had given to him.>At about this same time she started to move again, and their gazes met as she turned around. Nick smiled brightly, and in one motion he closed the gap between them to follow her lead to another group.(4/4)

Well, I finally got around to reading A Rabbit Clan's Fox to completion. Better late than never, I think.I want to say that one of my single favorite things about this was Boney's way of describing Nick's sense of smell. This is something that I feel was woefully absent from the movie itself. Most mammal species didn't really get any time to show off their own unique physical traits, and in particular canines had next to no time to show that they have a much stronger sense of smell than us. The only time this was ever shown in the movie was when the wolf guard detects Nick from upwind by his scent. The only things that Nick ever really uses to drive the plot forward revolve around his cunning, and while that's shown to be somewhat unique to foxes relative to other mammals, it's still not very novel to humans. Feels something of a missed opportunity. Here, though, Boney went into much better detail. He described Nick being able to compartmentalize just a gust of wind into numerous different things. Nick could tell whether he was smelling dirt, a plant, leather, metal, or another mammal-- and if it was another mammal, he could tell if it was familiar or not. Then he could tell which direction it was coming from. And he could read details like these from a considerable distance away. Humans have such a weak sense of smell in comparison that thinking about having that much fidelity in it is very fascinating. Again, the fact that this is never used as a plot device in Zootopia was a little disappointing. You'd think that Nick would have figured out the limo was Mr. Big's just by the scent, or just used his sense of smell for detective work in any way at all. Maybe there's room for that in a sequel. I'd sure like them to put a little more emphasis on uniquely animal traits like it. Like a bat character being shown using echolocation (even if humans are capable of that too).Anyway, now I think I'll move onto Water Under the Bridge to scratch that off the list, too.

And Remmy would try to ask Velvet not to say anything about this too anyone, at all. And that's when shit will hit the fan because Betty is the nosiest character in the story next to Cliff and Remmy

>>52398460>>52400040It's Siroc
>>52400239It was Edited by an art thief
>>52402300I like that angle. The good people behind Zootopia did put a lot of thought and care into giving characters more animal-like motions (especially for Judy), but not quite so much for animal-like sounds. I think the mice in Little Rodentia were all squealing when they were in a scurry, and a few mammals baring their teeth might have let out a growl, but there wasn't much more than that. Certainly not much for foxes, which as we all know are very vocal animals in real life. Again, something I hope is given more time to shine in a sequel.
>>52401794my lineart's getting better but I need more time working on the volume and details of eyes
>>52402657That's understandable. I'll always be happy to see more art like that. There's just something so very alluring about it that I don't tire seeing. I think it's because there's so much contrast. Nick always puts up such a strong front for everyone all the time, keeping his sincere feelings well out of sight, and yet can't help but let all of it go when he's intimate with Judy. He gives up the act and his features soften completely. It's such a simple thing but I love it.That's also why I think I like the dynamic between Al and Velvet so much, too. There's something similar going in with them. Al's public persona is to fill the role of the strong, callous pack leader, who can browbeat and command a room with his presence. And yet, when he's out of the private eye and his only audience is Velvet, all of him softens up and he basically becomes a cuddly little puppy.
