y'know, funny thing I just caught onto,

that last episode takes place at the end of the movie's timeline, more or less...

So by the time the dust had settled, if they were rounded up with Lionheart, then they got released.

They got of it alright.

I've always kinda HC'd that the Wolves Lionheart had working for him were Cops off duty, and that ends up being official? They might've even got reinstated.

That or they had just gotten out and left custody with the same clothes they had going in.
>>
>>52284591
Solid choice
>>
>>
>>52284481
Design wise, I always liked what there was of FF's Ermine. Personality, Fuel's Ollie... Skunkbutt's is a perfect goof.
>>
>>52284481
I've been thinking about this for a little while and, to be honest, I'm finding it really difficult to choose. There's so many down through the years to go through, and so many that I've enjoyed.
But I'm leaning towards Desmond & Molly. I don't remember the exact circumstances leading to their creation, other than that they were one of the very earliest the threads made (we're talking April 2016, before we even migrated from /co/, possibly before even Maurice Fournier existed). Nor do I remember exactly how far Chumpy, the original creator, had intended to take with them-- but I do distinctly remember how HarryLime picked the couple back up later down the line and spun them into something of his own. I think there's something that I just find really comforting about the sight of a loving, caring couple, and he really leaned into that well.
>>
>>52285299
Molly came first, she was actually an extension of another OC that was discovered really early in Zootopia's lifetime that was a giraffe meter maid that wore a radio on her ankle connected to one near her head so that small mammals could use it to talk to her. The thread really liked the design and ran with it. I don't really recall the circumstances of Desmond's creation but pretty sure he was made to be paired with Molly

>>52285474
I think I just barely remember that, now that you mention it. I had just thought that Desmond came first because he was the one that the thread adopted as Chumpy's de facto zoosona for a time-- although that might even be a misnomer because the concept didn't really exist yet. See: this group photo dating to April 2016 where Desmond represents Chumpy, Fournier represents Bore, and Weavalope is still a glint in Byron's eye.

>>

I don't know if I can answer that question very well, other than that there's a lot. Speaking as someone who's been here almost every step of the way, six years is a damn long time, a much longer time than I think I can properly remember. Is there any one thing in particular that you'd like to start with?
Welcome back, by the way.

It doesn't exist any longer. Not in the first incarnation, at least. The details aren't worth pouring over-- if you've ever seen Internet group politics even once you know, more or less, how the story ends.

Long story sort a personal dispute about what counts as accaptable and morally right adult pornography turned into a personal fued against a specific artist. When that person that wanted that artist gone couldn't go through with it, he straight up nuked the server instead through his mod friend.

I always had the headcanon that Gary and Larry were the wolf zpd officers that appeared at the start of the movie, Kinda like the parallel to the 2 sheep officers at the end of the movie at the museum.
One pair who got pulled by Lionheart to keep mass panic spreading due the mammals going savage, and the other pair plotting along Bellwether to try and make the savage mammals appear in public and create mass histeria
Now with the episode and those 2 still inntheir wardrobe, i'd say it's probable Gary and Larry DIE got detained and recently came out of the penitentiary, probably for both good behavior and because since those 2 were the ones capturing the savage mammals they could help testify in the case of The City against Ex-Mayor Bellwether
Also, man, Skunkbutt sure knows how to draw Gary and Larry... i miss him

It's something, but it's also a pretty banal reward for six-and-change years of waiting. Each episode is dependent on a pre-existing plot point, albeit to varying degrees, and maybe only three of the six really bring anything new to the table. "Godfather of the Bride" drops the bombshell that the mob bankrolled Zootopia and is responsible for the existence of Little Rodentia and the Climate Wall. "Duke the Musical" is a surprisingly entertaining little romp for what it is. And "Dinner Rush" is the only one of the six that was brave enough to have an original lead, in the form of Sam-- an energetic otter girl who's also Australian for some reason. Nick and Judy make brief appearances a couple times, but in every case it's a recycled scene from the movie. I don't have much else to say about the other three episodes, other than that they exceeded my expectations by not managing to make me cringe.
The fandom discussion right now is the collective hope that the show being set before or concurrent with the events of the movie was an intentional move to keep the door open for a sequel, but that's just speculation. No one is at all certain where things will go from here.

No, that was already explained a couple threads ago. Flash has strong ties to the mob and just keeps the DMV job as a front.
>>
So, it's basically confirmed that as some kinda prerequisite all alphas need to be tough and mean looking, but what if there was an alpha that was charismatic enough that he or she could be smirking the whole time and still manage to intimidate people from their sheer audacity and reputation?
>>
>>52294186
...

You could make VINs and Plates do all kinds of things with someone at the DMV.

Cars can disappear, be gifted, sold for nothing, Be written off as stolen, tons of stuff.

Nick knows Flash, he used to be in with Big... Nick could've met Flash through big.

Like Big had Nick jack cars once or twice and Flash made it all official.

>>
>>52294258

>>
>>52294268
Naw, Al is intimidating just from his appearance alone. What I mean is, can someone who isn't necessarily big and huge be an alpha if they're still a capable fighter, like an MMA fighter or other form of martial artist? From what it looks like so far, every alpha is big and strong, but what about a Judy Hopps type who can avoid taking damage by being nimble and hard hitting?
In reality it doesn't actually matter how big you are, if you get into a group fight you are going to get that one guy who gets a good hit in and breaks the bone of your eye socket and you're going down.
>>

You ain't gotta know a fucking thing about him, he don't gotta do nothing but just talk because when he talks, that voice, just a little bit of a smirk for garnish, there it is.

Everything you need to know about what kinda shit is about to go down and long as you're with him? It is going to be Fun.

It is going to be everything that ain't about to happen to whoever he's looking to like Yeah I Know Just To Do With You.

This has to be quickest reaction Flash has been shown to make. Probably why he's named Flash to begin with.
It's also interesting that even sloths falls into the trap of misinterpreting each other because of their low speed interactions. I guess this proves that at least their brain is operating at normal speed, it's just their body that can't keep up.
>>
>>52294864
I think a while ago in the thread someone brought up how sloths can be pretty quick for like fight or flight or something
>>
>>52294864
this was actually shown a lot during this short
If their brain was slow, they wouldn't be able to react to have the menu placed infront of them.

It's really they are trapped in a slow ass body, but they understand and react to stuff kinda quickly.
>>
>>52296098
Sounds kind of morbid when you put it like that. I bet sloths would be the first priority for exoskeleton technology
>>
>>52296306
Its also the only explanation how Flash can drive so fast without crashing anything.

Driving needs fast reaction times, and his streering wheel must be just super sensitive so he can control it with the smallest movement.

What fanfic have you guys been reading lately? I'm currently working through one where Judy is a new worker at a brothel that Nick runs and it is certainly.... Something.
>>
>>52297411
Apart from the nice little piece Falke wrapped up this week, I'm also getting started on reading 'Ready or Not' by Boney (not BoneyM), which is a bit heavier and more dramatic.
I'm kind of picky and slow to go through fanfics because I think I just have a low tolerance for nonsense, and the reality in a field populated with amateur writers is that there's a lot of nonsense. So in theory I'd love to read more, because the potential for stories in the setting is great-- but in practice I usually don't find myself doing that.

Just read Falke's recent halloween fic. It was great.
Then I read a nsfw one-shot where Nick is a space alien that just so happens to look like a fox. He kidnaps Judy in order to have babies with her. Despite the kidnapping he's not forcing her but gives her the choice. And of course she says yes. I liked it, It was pretty hot. But for some reason I didn't like the idea of Nick being an alien, so I kinda took the whole thing as role play.

I'm going over the way sheep are designed in the movie and in Z+ and it's really striking to me just how different Bellwether (and those two ewes at the beginning) is from all the rest, in almost every part of their design. It's so departed from the design of almost every other mammal that it's almost intimidating-- the elongated heads, the big, bulging, lateral eyes, the jerky and uneven gait, the unshapely limbs, the big flappy jowls and crooked teeth-- I don't think it's hyperbolic to describe it as alien-like. I'm sure it's intentional, considering almost every sheep character seen after Judy's flashback ends up being a bad guy. Presumably Disney gave the rest of the mammals the same big, cutesy, and round Disney faces to not make the entire world so off-putting as the sheep are, but the fact that they did for even one species is interesting. It makes you wonder what, for instance, the rabbits would look like with the same design philosophy.
Also, they re-used the carrot pen in this scene.

Follow-up: About halfway through the first chapter of 'Ready or Not' it dawned on me that I had already set out to read this a year or two ago and had since forgot that I ever did. I remember more clearly now that I never finished it, and not for lack of more chapters, I don't think. Maybe my standards are just unreasonably stratospheric, but I just can't keep my eyes from slipping off the page. The prose is a little bit too stiff for my liking, and this also isn't even the third fic I've read where Nick cries in a hospital bed. The overall arc might just be a little bit better than that, but I don't know if I can muster finding out. My apologies to Boney.

I think I'm going to instead move on to another piece that's been on my radar for a long time: 'A Rabbit Clan's Fox', that one by the other writer named Boney. After that I might take another stab at 'Water Under the Bridge', one by another one of our own, which I remember starting probably four or five years ago but not finishing.

I'm certain that difference comes down to the fact that Bellwether is a more prominent character and, until her twist at the end, is supposed to be seen a good character. I think the conversation that went down at Disney concluded that the audience would see her as a more agreeable and innocent character if she had those big, cutesy, binocular Disney eyes, a smaller, flatter face, and a more shapely body, rather than have the same grotesque and alien-like features as all the other sheep (minus two) have. The fact that Judy is the lead must explain why she also has a flat face and Disney eyes, instead of her head looking more like pic related.

This comic is so weird. It's really well drawn but all these characters just occupying the same space so casually, and then the robocop plot... I can't help but both admire it, and make fun of it for the artist having this much time on their hands to draw it. It's like when you're a kid and you take two or more toys from different franchises and start making stuff up on how they meet up. More power to this person, whoever they are
>>
>>52320321
That seems to be the general consensus on it, yes. If it's any consolation, I am aware that this comic is not Nauyaco's brainchild (none of his comics are, I think), but that of some guy by the name of ParadoxJH. According to Nauyaco this is a commission that he ordered to have the entirety of RoboCop 2 be recreated with a specific roster of characters, and if I'm reading him correctly, the same guy has also commissioned another artist to recreate the entirety of the first RoboCop in the same manner. Yeah.

Speaking from experience, I think I at least know why. Obsessive fixations are probably one of the single most inherent and universal experiences of being on the spectrum, and it's a completely involuntary process. In every instance I've seen, including my own, what you latch onto strongly coincides with what you experience during your formative years, I guess because the brain is most plastic around that time. That must be why obsessions like these tend to be so fixed on concepts like a cartoon you watched, or book you read, or just any visceral experience you had, when you were young. As a qualified armchair psychologist I'm guessing this guy just formed an obsession with RoboCop after watching it when he was a kid.

My guess for that is that no one in Judy's family is supposed to be a villain, unlike most of the sheep characters, so they have cutesy eyes, too. I can't say exactly what Disney's rationale was for who got what, but it feels reasonable to say that the alien-looking sheep were their way of coding that those sheep are supposed to look untrustworthy. Disney's design philosophy is based heavily around tried-and-true concepts that are easy to understand, and I think one of them must be the idea that cute characters look more trustworthy and ugly characters look more suspicious.

The most interesting episode from a storytelling point of view for me was definitely "Godfather of the Bride" just because I wasn't expecting the writing team to make such a heavy-handed statement about the mob having direct ties to city planning, which has some real canonical implications. However, someone also brought up the interesting possibility that Mr. Big might be an unreliable narrator and could very well have been wildly overstating, or just outright fabricating, his accomplishments, to make himself and his importance seem bigger. This could also just be seeing depth where there is none. I can't say what the writing team actually intended.

>>52325299
Looking at the credits, it seems like most of the cast that got new lines were the same actors as the movie.
>Bonnie Hunt and Don Lake both reprise their roles as Bonnie and Stu
>Leah Latham reprises her role as Fru-Fru
>Alan Tudyk reprises his role as Duke
>Maurice LaMarche reprises his role as Mr. Big
>Nate Torrence reprises his role as Clawhauser, and Idris Elba and Shakira reprise their roles as Gazelle
>Raymond Persi (who also voiced Officer Higgins in the movie) reprises his role as Flash, Kristen Bell reprises her role as Priscilla, and Lord Byron and Jared Bush reprise their roles as Bucky and Pronk
Also, for anyone who didn't know, the pig chef in "Dinner Rush" is named Gerald Cook.
