>Does heat or its equivalents even exist in Pack Street canon?
Honestly, the answer is... probably yes.

It's true that Remmy assumes Al and Betty were in heat when they spar, but they laugh it off so abruptly that they might be laughing at him thinking that's still a thing. So you can't assume that's proof.

However, there are several lines (generally brought up by Wolter, so take that with a grain of salt) that implicitly suggest heat.

>"So Chuck," Wolter hums, wrapping an arm around Charlie's shoulder. "Chuuuuck. It's about fox season, right?"
Suggesting she's in or almost in "season" is strongly implying heat. She dodges the question and focuses on the nickname. However, even her own comment in another chapter seems to back this up:

>She cranes her head up to look at me and I notice her eyelids widening just enough that I can see a faint hint of her beady eyes. "...you seem uncharacteristically pleased to see me. Is it nearly ram season, too?"
"Ram season" definitely suggests rut or heat, and her saying "too" seems to imply she's got heat to deal with as well.

>He shrugs, not the least bit rebuffed. "Anyway, Charlie, I'm just saying. It's tough here in the summer, you know? And with the heat and all, like... don't you ever get an itch you just can't scratch?"
This one could be talking about temperature, but given the context and implication of him trying to seduce Charlie, that ambiguity and double entendre is probably intentional.

>Sweat. Perfume, fur powder, patchouli oil. Sweat, shampoo, conditioner, skin. Body spray, laundry soap, hand soap, hand lotion, and did I mention sweat?! And there's something else in there too, something that gets my skin prickling.
Then of course you have the entire chapter of The Thirst Gets Worse, where Remmy seems to be dealing with and recognizing the primal scents of his neighbors being amped up, and not just from temperature.

This concludes my presentation on Pack Street and heat, thanks for coming.

Divorced is very different. If she's a widow then it's very possible she was in a perfectly healthy marriage and was a great wife. If she's divorced, it's at best a sign of poor ability to choose men well, and at worst it could be a whole host of issues, plenty of which could be outright untenable.

It's not the 1990s anymore. Besides that SpongeBob spinoff that's making Steve Hillenburg roll in his grave, I don't think anyone's really tried an aged-down spinoff in well over 15 years. Besides, I don't think Disney was ever that enthusiastic about that trend in the fist place, unless I've managed to completely block out any memory of it.

Poorly. But Disney will make returns on it because the bar for entry for children's entertainment is so incredibly low that you don't need to expend almost any energy or effort to get your money back. If the target audience is young enough, they just need to be stuck in front of a TV or a theater screen and they'll accept it and their parents will buy them merchandise.

>I would just prefer to stay far away from divorce.
when you look at women around Bonnie's age, a significant number will be divorced. About half of marriages end in divorce. You don't need to treat it like they're damaged goods.
Seriously the best reason you can come up with for someone divorcing is "bad at picking men"? Not like "they're not in love anymore" or "drifted apart" or anything even remotely amicable? Death is the only way you can see a woman like that being salvaged?
>>
Is this why Al is afraid of marriage?
>>
A Wolter is a two way street.
>>
>>35121096
>a significant number will be divorced. About half of marriages end in divorce.
That's not a very good reason to accept it.
>Not like "they're not in love anymore" or "drifted apart" or anything even remotely amicable?
Personally I do find those worse than just her fucking up her choice of partner. If she "drifted apart" from a man she had decades with then why should I expect any different to happen to me?
I'm not in my forties or fifties, I don't have decades of experience in relationships, maybe it's something I just don't understand, but I do have plenty of experience with divorce, and to me a divorce at all is a very bad sign.
>Death is the only way you can see a woman like that being salvaged?
Not only, just the most straightforward and simple.
>>
>>35121435
So do you just not think people ever change?
>>
>>35121703
No, I just think people rarely change enough to actually warrant a divorce.
>>
>>35121703
Different anon here, but here are some statistics:

>In the U.S., the divorce rate for third marriages is estimated to be between 73 and 74 percent, significantly higher than the 41 to 50 percent rate of divorce for first marriages, and higher than the 60 to 67 percent divorce rate for second marriages.

So no, people do in fact not change. And getting together with someone who already has been divorced is a bad idea.
>>
>>35121859
>So no, people do in fact not change.
lmao "this statistic of more likely divorce proves that people fundamentally don't change"
glad we put that one to bed
>>
>>35120729
>the bar for entry for children's entertainment is so incredibly low that you don't need to expend almost any energy or effort to get your money back
Yep. As we saw with the MLP movie, you can shit out a completely soulless color-by-numbers movie and it will still make its budget back.
>>
>>35121859
>>35121984
That proves that people do change, but for the worst.
>>
>>35121859
I meant more that people change from the start of the marriage to the divorce, not between marriages.
"This guy married a good woman, then later she became shitty, he must be a poor judge of character" is blaming a dude for not being psychic
>>
>>35122047
Usually it's a gradual degradation with plenty of time to fix it if they're willing to try to work through it. It's not blaming someone for lacking psychic powers, it's blaming someone for either being unable to see things around them getting worse or being unwilling to put in the work to remedy the problems.
>>
>>35121984
>>35122047
>>35122046
People don't change because they go through the exact same shitty pattern of finding a love interest, gets married, then divorced. They clearly haven't learned how to foster and keep a healthy relationship and thusly marriage.

>So now you're saying you can fix other people?
Not necessarily, though you should try as best you can.
>Like it's on him to fix his wife?
Yes. He should be there for her and them as a family even when she herself is the problem.
>What if she stops trying? Is that still on him?
No. But to me divorce should be an absolute last resort.
>What if they lose a child together or face a mutual trauma that leaves them unable to see each other?
I really couldn't say. My previous statement on divorce still stands, but this may well be running into the edge cases where it could become acceptable.
>>
>>35122733
So you don't think people change enough to warrant divorce but you do think you can change other people?
>>
>>35122784
Yes. I don't see how those conflict. The fact that people don't change so much should make it easier for someone to make sure another person doesn't change for the worse.
But one really important part is that like I mentioned, these changes usually happen gradually, giving plenty of time to offer pushback for the better. That's also why I'm unsure when concerning intense mutual trauma and the like, because that's the complete opposite of gradual.
>>
>>35122718

I've spent too much time trying to help people to think that you can change someone.
Change comes from within. You can always try to help, but it's not on you to make someone a better person (or prevent them from becoming a worse one). Even serious shit like intervention is all about wanting to be helped, wanting to change, etc. Other people can bring you to water but only you can choose to drink.
>>

That's completely true, and that's what I expect. The issue is that lots of people just don't do that to begin with.
>it's not on you to make someone a better person (or prevent them from becoming a worse one)
If that person is your wife or husband I'd say it absolutely is on you to try everything you can to at the very least make them not become a worse person.

Don't remind me about it.

>Things weren't always peaceful between all groups of prey and predators, even after the dawn of civilization.
>Nomadic sheep were a hardy people who could survive against the cold, but didn't care as well when it came to beasts attacking them for their meat. They endured against terrible odds, however. Historians believe they survived up to modern times only because of their diplomatic capabilities and willingness to cooperate with others.
>Sheep forged alliances with many types of animals, from large oxen, to scavenging mice, but the strangest and most unexpected of these alliances were the wolf-sheep pacts.
>Protective wolves, known colloquially as "sheepdogs" have been documented protecting sheep flocks until they could no longer protect themselves due to old age or sickness.
>There have been findings of cave paintings of wolves assisting sheep in comforting their lambs, even cradling them as though they were caretakers.
>This has led to speculation that some sheep took these wolves as their mates, and that these sheep had evolved into loving these predators in order to deepen trust, thus furthering their own survival.
>Nowadays, sheep flocks have adapted to modern living like many other species and tend to settle down in one place, favoring the benefits of civilization over nomadic living. This has caused their previous alliances to be almost completely forgotten about.
>>
>>35120063
Should we be afraid where this is going?
>>
>>35123550
I'll like to think that in exchange for protecting the herd, wolves were given shelter and gifts, such as wool from the sheeps themselves to help keep them warm or trade to traveling caravans for other goodies. Many of these "sheepdogs" were lone wolves who forgo their hunting and meat-eating ways to live in peace with other species. Relationships between wolves and sheeps were looked down upon and discouraged as their relationship was only meant to be seen as a business transaction. As a result, many of these relationships were kept secret.

Watersport doesn't do anything for me and I would find it insanely gross if it happened to me. But I do find it hot in the context of WildeHopps simply because I enjoy seeing them be happy with each other. So whatever floats their boats, I guess.
There are definitely limits to this, however. No matter how much you try to depict them enjoying cuckold it dosn't work for me. Like it just dosn't work for their characters, imo. And there's probably other weird shit that wouldn't work either, but watersport just seems harmless to me.

Fetishes can be so incredibly dependent on context that they can sometimes not only be limited to purely fantastical scenarios in order to be arousing, they might also rely on very specific conditions therein. To use myself as an example, I'm a slightly underweight guy who, while not struggling with any eating disorder, is very conscious about his weight and is honestly kind of scared about gaining weight. HOWEVER, my mind can still very much find weight gain highly arousing, in both self-insert scenarios and otherwise. HOWEVER, I have no interest at all in the actual eating aspect of a lot of WG porn (for reasons that should be obvious) and can only hit this sweet spot if it's in scenarios where the subject gains weight through some kind of external magic, or the subject is a sort of nontemporal being that has only ever existed in that snapshot of time and has only ever existed fat. I often find myself fantasizing about what it would be like to be obese for a short amount of time, like one or two days, but this never crosses over from the fantasy realm into aspirations for reality because I know that I can't just use magic to instantly alter my physical properties at will and would have to overeat to achieve it, which is a long and painful process with long-term or even permanent consequences. I guess it's something about the mind just craving something that it knows it can never get... I don't know, there's still so much about the human mind that the human mind still does not understand.
Also, happy new year.
>>
Happy new year, anons! I love each and every one of you, and I think of you all when I cum.

I think that'll really hinge on how much meat there'll be in the show for us to sink our teeth into, and how much that can encourage the more cautious (like me) to go through the effort of checking it out. Even in the best case scenario, though, I don't think it'll be as much of a rebound as we'd all like. That won't happen until a proper movie sequel comes out.

Honestly, I think a TV series would cause a bigger rebound than a movie. Just not this TV series, based on the description of it having parodies of existing media, just with animal puns, and focusing on certain side characters like Flash and Fru Fru. I don’t think they are bad characters outright, but I don’t think they offer much as stand-alone jokes. Would be interesting to see Flash’s friendship with Nick or how his hobby with fast cars. Maybe Fru Fru growing up the daughter of Mr. Big (though that’s probably a little dark).

Also, don't forget that it's in short-form. The episodes are probably not going to be any longer than 5-10 min each, so the likelihood of any deeper storyline are very slim.
On the upside, it could help spread awareness of Zootopia. I mean, someone who didn't care about the movie in 2016 would now be 6 years older in 2022, and seeing those short episodes might intrigue/convince them to see the movie.
>>
>>35150649
That reminds me that we're close to coming up to the point where people who were still children when the movie was initially released are going to now be teenagers or young adults. We're at the cusp of the first wave of furries that were nurtured by Zootopia.

They'll see everyone going "ooh I wanna be X animal" and "no way, I'd totally prefer Y animal" and then go "uh, actually, what if I want to be a furry without wanting to be an animal, huh, you ever think about that." The people wanting to be rabbits, foxes, badgers, sloths, etc. have already made their decision, they're basically the newest old guard before the true new wave comes.

Happy new year, /ztg/!

>It starts with a stolen, secret New Year's kiss, ten minutes ahead of schedule. Rinehart isn't expecting it at all, and it leaves him temporarily speechless.
>Violet flees to the drink he's given her, so quickly that her glasses clack against the rim.
>"I'm sorry," she mutters. "I don't know-"
>"It's okay," he says, and means it. His head feels wobbly and too big from the drinks, too. But there's no denying that felt good.
>"As long as nobody saw..."
>They've snuck down the hall, out of the racous noise of the party. They're probably unnoticed down here, where no one can see Rinehart steal up Violet's paw.
>One bit of chasing that secret feeling leads to another. Soon enough they find themseleves in the bathroom, and the door clicks locked.
>They try it again, and this time that taboo feels even better, even more heady and delicious. Rine dares to reach out and pull her up to his level, and thrills when she responds.
>Still...
>"We can't-" he says.
>"I know," she sighs against his throat. Her rump fills his paws. He squeezes.
>Violet steals her paws into his shirt. his heart beats harder; he rumbles his scratchy approval.
>"But that doesn't mean we can't watch."
>Rinehart pauses, lets her down carefully. "Are you sure?"
>"This year won't last much longer."
>It's however much justification it needs to be. Violet turns around and slides her skirt off. By some sleight of paw, her panties are already gone.

>Rinehart stares at her cloud-soft tail, his heart beating in his throat, until he notices that he's staring and jumps to catch up. His head buzzes with more than just the alcohol, when he fumbles his belt open and pushes his pants down over his hips.
>She puts her glasses carefully aside and pulls her turtleneck up, wrestling with the thick collar in a way that Rinehart feels guilty for finding so endearing.
>The air is cool against his sheath. Her eyes light up when she gets her shirt free and sees, and it makes his stomach tighten.
>Her breasts are generous, for a rabbit. Her nipples are hard, when her bra comes away in her urgent paws.
>They sit across from each other, her against the door and him fetching up against the cool rim of the tub.
>Excitement and eagerness - it has its own not at all subtle scent. He has to fight to not let his tongue loll out. But it makes it easier, somehow, for them to watch each other, and to not care. There's no embarrassment now. Just the moment. The last one, the one they don't have to feel guilty about enjoying.
>The tip of his penis slips against his pads, flashing pink where it peeks out of his sheath.
>Violet looks on, totally fascinated, and spreads her legs for him. She runs her paws down her belly, over her slit. The soft noise as her finger slips inside makes his ears perk, and his cock twitch.
>They can't risk touching. But Rinehart can watch, while Violet touches herself for him. Right now, he doesn't have to pretend not to notice how her bust fills her paws, or how her breathing makes her breasts swell and rise.
>Right now, she doesn't have to pretend not to be enthralled with the growing weight of his erection, pushing out of his sheath with every heartbeat.
>The attention makes him throb harder, and that makes her eyes wider. It's a delicious feedback loop. Every dribble and squirt of his hot precum makes her twitch.

>"Are you close?" she asks. Her breasts fall and sway, as she goes back to fingering herself.
>In answer, he pulls on himself again and his knot slips out of his sheath. Yes, he is. He can feel it coming. There's no stopping it now, only sharing it with her.
>"Oh, Rine..."
>Rinehart whines. He wraps his paw behind his knot and rides it out, fighting to keep his hips still and hoping desperately that none of his pattering cum lands on her.
>And now Violet's hips buck, too. She spreads herself wide to him and squirts on the tile between them, and the sound and the scent just drive him even deeper into his own peak.
>Then, suddenly, in his ringing ears, there's nothing but their panting. They're slumped in their impromptu seats, and it becomes almost awkward, to look up from their shared excitement and look her in the eye. Her ears are flushed with the same embarrassment.
>"Wow," she says.
>Rinehart wants to keep going. It would feel so right, so easy. The pull in his head is nearly making him drool.
>But it's just a moment, and for the moment it's passed. The world is leaking back in: the sounds from down the hallway, the cool porcelain digging into his back.
>Violet gets to unsteady feet. She gives him a wistful look, but she reaches for the towels, too.
>They clean up in awkward silence, and replace clothes so they don't look too badly like they've been torn off in an amorous rush.
>Violet listens at the door until the coast is clear.
>"Thanks," she whispers, as they go back out into the hall. "I think we both-"
>"Needed that?"
>"Well, wanted it. So." She looks up and squeezes his paw. Her ears are still beet red. Hopefully they can blame it on the drinks. "If you find yourself wanting again, just for tonight..."
>"Okay." He dares to think about it, but in the meantime he guides them down the hall. "But not just yet. We don't want to miss the countdown," he says.
>Especially since he feels pretty good about getting another kiss.

I think I'm about beyond having hope for there being a positive trend in store for us in our foreseeable future. Maybe mankind is not totally lost, and will manage to save itself a distant point from now, but none of us will live to see that come to fruition. No, we were born at just the right time to see it all spiral down the drain.

Politics in this country are a joke. Basically political parties are sports teams where "my guy good, your guy bad".
