Moving the story of Shep, Dawn, and their guest

>Judy demands to be assigned as Bellwether's supervising officer during her home stay to keep an eye on her
>Checks in every week or so, monitors any discrepancies from her ankle monitor
>She meets Dawn's loving (and rather enormous) husband, who welcomes Judy into their home with a genuine if toothy smile
>Asks her to stay for tea, but Judy still has regular duty as a cop and has places to be
>Weeks go by
>Dawn is still bitter and resentful towards Judy for ruining her scheme, but the spite is dulled by her obvious lack of enthusiasm
>Without her connections, her power, or her office, all the wind's gone out of her sails, and all she's got left of her evil side is resentment
>The sheep that was once the most dangerous mammal in Zootopia is now mostly just giving her the cold shoulder when she comes to check in
>Meanwhile Shep always seems happy to see her
>It's increasingly clear from his nervous smile and the gap between him and Dawn that their marriage is strained
>He and Judy begin to talk more and more often as she runs down the checklist from her visits
>She finds herself opening up to him and sometimes even venting, and he soon becomes something of a friend outside her normal circles
>Dawn continues to mostly turn her nose up at Judy but even she's become, however slowly, a bit less rude

Yeah, her design definitely makes her look like easily excitable and some mix of kind/naive.

I also love the idea of nocturnal characters in general. The idea of someone staying up "late" and going for a groggy late-night snack at noon in some packed diner is really funny to me.

>One day while visiting, Judy finds herself talking about her recent problems at the precinct with Shep, telling harmless jokes about her co-workers and venting about her job, she realizes what a strange friend Shep's become
>Because he doesn't travel in any of the same circles, she can talk to him and vent about some things that she can't share with anyone else
>He's always willing to listen
>Even though he's rather quiet himself, he always greets her at the door with a warm smile, inviting her in to the small (but not as small as Judy's) cozy apartment
>Recently, more and more, Dawn has been joining them in the living room, sitting on the chair opposite the couch her husband and Judy occupy while going down the weekly check-in
>She doesn't say much, instead glancing frequently at Judy with a strange, watchful expression
>Judy never thought much of it

>One day Judy finds herself wiping tears from her eyes after telling a particularly funny story to the wolf, whose hearty laughter was so contagious it turned her amusing bullpen anecdote into an uproarious comedy routine
>She finds herself smiling effortlessly as the wolf returns her pleased look
>Out of the corner of her eye, she catches Dawn glaring at her, red-faced
>She's subtly rocking in her chair with balled fists

>Judy stood on the front step in dull surprise for a moment, not sure if she'd ever seen the ewe smile since her arrest
>She was welcomed inside with a friendly wave
>Dawn's ankle monitor clicked with each shuffling step as the sheep returned to the living room
>Dawn excused herself to the kitchen to take care of some things
>Shep sat comfortably on the sofa, one enormous arm draped over the back
>Judy hopped up next to him without a thought, the response by now having become wholly ingrained and unconscious
>As usual, she produced the forms from her clipboard, and as the shaggy sheepdog began to go down his set, marking off various fields on Dawn's behalf, Judy caught herself staring up at his preoccupied face
>His warm, easy manners and his broad, strong features
>He glanced up from the papers, catching Judy's gaze and returning an unguarded, earnest smile

>She stammered, sounding strangely distressed and nearly out of breath

>Dawn Bellwether returned to the kitchen, shuffling her feet and swinging her little woolly tail behind her
>Shep and Judy go back to idly chatting over their papers
>By the time they've finished filling out their forms, Dawn returns with a tray of prepared teacups
>Hands Judy her cup with a warning that it's very hot
>The three of them relax in the living room, sipping their tea
>Judy can't help but notice Dawn still stealing glances at her from time to time, as she sits opposite the two of them
>Judy briefly wonders if she should be polite and give up her seat, so that Dawn can sit next to her husband instead of all alone on that chair
>But Shep doesn't seem to mind and he doesn't say anything, so Judy just shrugs it off

>They continue to drink, sharing idle conversation
>Dawn's not saying much, and Shep's still a man of few words, but Judy finds pleasant conversation with him as she always has
>As Shep folds up his copies of this week's forms, Judy finds herself feeling a little light-headed
>Bellwether seems to notice, smiling at her from her chair across the way
>"How's the tea, Judy?"
>It does taste a little... unique
>She assumed it was just some flavor she'd never heard of
>Judy rubs her eyes, trying to focus
>Across from her, Dawn kicks her feet up and smiles slowly

>Judy teeters slightly, rubbing her head and feeling dizzy
>Dawn leans in, watching
>"What's the matter, Officer?"
>Shep looks down at the diminutive bunny, cocking his head to one side
>"Judy? Everything all right?"
>She only offers a smile in return
>"Yeah, I... just have a headache, I think."
>She hears Dawn clapping her hooves together pleasantly
>"Oh, tea's actually good for a headache, so you're in luck!"
>"Dawn's right, you'll feel better in no time."
>She nodded slowly
>"Don't worry about it, Judy. Just relax. Don't strain yourself."

>Finishing off the last of her own forms, Judy clicked her pen shut and stood up, still a little uneasy, but sure enough, her headache was already fading
>"Well, that's it for today. Thank you both for the tea."
>"It was all Dawn! She's a lovely cook, you know."
>The ewe, who had gotten up from her seat to see Judy out, blushed and tried to wave off the compliment, but Shep grabbed her with his enormous, shaggy arm and pulled her in for a loving smooch on her cheek
>"SHEP!" she trilled, turning crimson, "NOT IN FRONT OF COMPANY!"
>The towering wolf chuckled, blushing slightly himself
>"Sorry, sweetie. You're just so cute, sometimes I can't help myself."
>Dawn fidgeted, wringing her hoofed hands together, but finally gave in
>She leapt up and threw her arms around her husband's broad neck
>They nuzzled, snout to snout, and Judy smiled in quiet appreciation
>She could hear Shep sighing warmly against the little ewe
>It was actually nice to see them being so loving for a change
>At last she came to realize that it wasn't their marriage that was strained, Dawn was just embarrassed to show affection with Judy around
>But now, though once sworn enemies, it seemed they'd begun to build new bridges
>"...as I was saying, my wife's an incredible cook. You should join us for dinner someday."

Would anyone want to read a story based on The Neighbor's Toy where Judy actually turns into a literal sex toy (like, an inflatable bunny with onaholes or something) and her neighbors decide to keep her? Or is transformation not a thing people like around here?

It's not something you can do since Disney made its own technology for the fur, and that's mostly what's off about the model.

Currently doing a smut fic on the side just for fun. Nick/Finnick fun stuff, battle of dominance and all that.

But my actual serious one, I'm still in the process of outlining the damn thing. It's the ending that's really kicking me because I feel like I have several very strong moments but for the ending I can't think of a way of closing it out without it feeling kinda weak or, the sort of strong build up from before just sort of fading into an ending that doesn't seem to have as much potential for emotional highs and lows.

I guess to give a rundown, AU ending where Bellwether catches the blueberry trick. She switches out the blueberry for the real thing and shoots Nick. Since he can't fight back against it despite using every bit of his willpower, he ends up attacking Judy.

Both partially thanks to Nick trying to fight back against it, and thanks to the cops arriving much earlier then Bellwether had anticipated Judy manages to survive the attack. Judy is in the hospital during the passage of time to the start of the story.

I'm supposing a month passes since this, though I'm not entirely set on the amount of time between the attack and the start, but Bellwether ends up 'curing' the savage animals by placing the shock collars around their necks. She had the antidote and gave it to all the captured savage mammals, however also placing the collars on them. She parades them around in a press event, especially Nick, showing that she cured them all via the collars to the populace and furthering the divide between predator and prey, allowing her to rule by fear just as she wanted. Nobody trusts Nick after the museum events, so he has 0 credibility if he tries to claim it was Bellwether's fault.

But it's a logical angle to take the story after the whole pred vs prey debacle Bellwether caused.
>>
>>3256053
Judy's ears should be going over Nick's arm
>>
>>3256028

To continue on, that brings up the question of Judy's own credibility. After all if she were to say something that would arouse suspicion. In part she ends up digging her own grave in that regard because when she does come to, she wants to see Nick, she wants to know if he's ok, and it ends up making others think she's perhaps traumatized by the incident, that her mind is blocking out the attack, something along those lines that basically make people think she's remembering things wrong and that she has a few screws knocked loose from the trauma of her friend attacking her.

Honestly originally I planned on having Judy die from the attack, but then I quickly hit a wall where Nick doesn't have much purpose at that point other then just straight revenge against Bellwether. And it would make the darker plot just stay depressing 24/7, which while I totally enjoy depressing stories I don't feel it would be as... Good I guess.

So that's the basic set up for the plot. I'm still hammering away at many of the kinks and oddities that rose up from the initial concept of it and trying to get a very solid foundation formed.

It's a quick run down of it but, I hope to actually create something -good- with this idea.
>>
>>3256103
I still doubt that though. The argument is that zootopia as a whole had this deep seated racial divide, but we never really saw that. Bellweather broke the city, she created the rift. Then Judy fixed it, and put the city back to the way it was.

If you're getting started with writing and want to get better at it, I would recommend not shying away from basic story structures.

If you were going to learn how to draw, you would learn basic shapes and pencil skills first. You wouldn't start off by trying to create the next post modern style. If you were learning how to make games, its better to start remaking level 1-1 of Mario and then seeing what you can add as mechanics or level design after you get the flow rather than starting off on your 'Dwarf Fortress but with 3D graphics and real world economy virtual reality MMO' masterpiece. Fundamentals are fundamental.

Writing is a technical skill, and the reason stories are often the same is not because everyone just copies each other (though it definitely happens), but because there are established forms of storytelling that people have figured out are pleasurable and do good things.

So, in a hypothetical situation, will you be pissed if the sequel goes this route? That is, if they do a good job of setting it up.
>>
>>3256111
I don't know if the "assumed trauma" route would be a good one, seems like Judy would just explain what happened with Bellwether and people would go >oh shit she might be a monster we'd better investigate this

Unless of course Judy was only seen by specialists approved by Bellwether. Then maybe she tries to get a message out to Nick, or the ZPD and Bellwether attempts to have her taken out or moved to a secure location and disguises it as an attack by pred extremists or something.

Endings are rough, but outlines are great for figuring them out.

No correct answer about how to make an ending, but here are a few very general, open ended questions to ask yourself that might lead you to sussing out a satisfying end:

What do all of the characters want? What do they actually need? Over the course of the story, do those change? In the end, what do they get, and how do they feel about that?

Where do the characters start as, and how do they change? How do they end up, and how does that reflect on where they started? Why is their change important?

What 'normality' is broken during the story? How does the story end on a 'new normal'? What changes? Is it a change for the better? Is it a change for the worse?

If you had to sum up the theme in one sentence, what is it? "Love conquers all", "There's beauty in every one of us", "End the Fed"? How does the end of your story reflect that theme? If it were an essay, the ending would be the nail in the coffin proof, so how does your ending prove your theme?

Now, specifics to your story: tell me if I got this right: Bellwether makes Nick go bonkers, everyone sees Nick go crazy but he doesn't kill Judy. Bellwether uses the fear of preds going crazy to push for shock collars-- is this despite everyone knowing about the Night Howlers? Nick is paraded around as a 'reformed crazy pred', and Judy wakes up and everyone thinks she's addled.

So then the question is, with no support and while under custody, how do they overcome their situation? What steps do they go through to show that A) shock collars are being pushed just to further pred/prey divide and don't stop people from going feral cause they were caused by Nighthowlers, and B) Judy isn't addled.

Seems like you might need to put more seeds in to grow into trees-- more plot elements that the characters can use to progress the story and lead to that satisfying end.
>>
>>3256131
>I still have no idea what the vampire stuff is about

I mean, sure, but

why a vampire?

Vampires are a concept that just feels weird to Zootopia, city of animals where all species come together and live in relative harmony despite an underlying sense of prejudice.

Vampires?

I mean, some people say that the original concept of a vampire was to warn people against foreigners-- Dracula comes from Transylvania, he has a different culture than everyone else, he seduces women and cucks noblemen, and he makes people his culture by draining them of their own.

I guess that sort of fits in Zootopia's theme?

Why would a vampire need to 'try everything'?

I don't know, I feel like its a crossover thing, like if Doctor Who went to Zootopia or Nick and Judy had to find the Dragon Balls.

But people like it so maybe its just me.

I'd like to apologize for coming off as a douche. I have all the faith in the world that you can get to the level you want. Drawing is such a personal skill that takes a lot of dedication and work, you need to actively draw a lot and push yourself and whenever you get the thought of "I want to see this drawn" or anything along those lines, YOU need to pick up a pen or pencil and try to draw it. If it doesn't look right, draw it again until it looks as close to the idea as you can muster.

I'm planning out (read: that means nothing is materialized QUITE yet!) a full novelization of Zootopia's original script before it got canned, but trying to piece together all the the plot points is proving to be difficult. It seems like most of what we do know comes from various stages of the plot's development, so there's plenty of contradictions or just plain dead ends that I have to deal with. It looks like a lot of what I'll eventually end up writing will be made up myself -- especially the final act and the villain's reveal, since it doesn't really seem like we have a clear idea of what that ever was.

Oh I did toy with the idea of her death being faked, or have her attempted to be killed by Bellwether. I suppose the biggest problem is when I tried to concoct a situation where that occurs it ends up being ridiculous.

Part of the reason I went for the whole trauma route is the fact that Judy is in a hospital, a somewhat public facility where yeah Bellwether is the mayor but she isn't authoritarian she can't have someone walk up and just kill someone. She's still an elected official, things would have to be more discrete to not arouse suspicion.

I just feel like it ends up being somewhat if a clusterfuck if I take that route. I tried multiple different paths of taking it and they usually ended up somewhat bonkers.

>>3256252

Well people don't know about the night howlers because her plan of making Nick crazy with it and making her attack Judy ends up working. Remember this is basically that last scene of the movie, only instead of shooting Nick with a blueberry and them faking it all, she catches on and checks the gun, allowing her to shoot Nick with an actual Nighthowler serum, or whatever they specifically called it in the film.

Nick isn't in custody, if he's supposedly reformed then he's free to leave and go out into the world. She uses Nick as the primary vessel to make the whole shock collar thing a reality, and as a way to make people even more afraid of predators then before to sort of secure her power.

http://pastebin.com/PuzRcSKx I just put the original posted concept I had in this little pastebin if only because I think it's a bit better at describing my general plan then me right now.

Obviously my current vision of it is different but the same general thought behind it is much of the same. This is based all on that original idea and now I'm still very much in the process of outlining a progression of a full story based upon that initial concept. Plus I still don't know how long do I want it to go on and all those fun things.
>>
>>3256445
Hmmm... I'm going to stop shitting on the vampire idea and try to see what I'd do with it:

Okay, so...

What if it wasn't the supernatural state of living death where you had to suck the blood of the living and could make them thralls to your will, could transform into a bat or wolf or fog, didn't have metaphysical properties and needed to avoid the sun and crosses?

What if... it were more akin to rabies?

Judy gets hit with some sort of Night Howler-esque serum that causes her to have 'pred instincts', i.e., the need to feed on meat. Its a desire that's always there. Comes with light sensitivity, so she needs to keep hidden. Since its something that causes you to become more primal, it helps to mentally block these urges with more refined ideas, which is why she puts so much emphasis on her appearance-- that old expression, 'shaving makes the man'? Nick tries to help her through it, and she needs to figure out how to control herself or give into her urges and take a chunk out of him?

Do anything for you? Or am I missing another aspect of being a vampire?

The issue with being older is the self awareness. But with that self-awareness you can set goals for yourself, you know how you want to be. Kids just do it because it's kind of fun and the coordination kind of sticks. You'll be able to get there, just don't give up on yourself and try not to get too frustrated, just take a breath and try again. You can learn from mistakes you do and work on them.
>>
>>3256529

That original idea I came up with in a singular post in an earlier thread probably a week or 2 back I should say.

Thing is, I'm not totally into the vampire lore so I'd accept just about anything really. The whole "avoiding the sun" thing would be impossible to do in the fic I'd want to see written. She'd just have to be sensitive to the sun, maybe always have to wear a hat and sunglasses or something.

So yeah you're on the right track with what I'd want to see. However part of me still wants to see the "she needs to drink blood to live" trope even though I know that'd be a difficult concept to write.

That's a good point. Its why everyone loved Twilight.

Okay, so...

Not only does it make her crave meat, it makes her NEED the blood, else it will start to deteriorate her brain protein synthesis or some other medical macguffin and make her more savage or something. That kind of makes sense to give her the dependency...

Light sensitivity fits better than turning to ash or shining like a sparkle faggot in your case, while still gives her a reason to be in a darkened, secluded home.

Its a bit like necessary drug dosage at this point: she NEEDS blood to keep her going on a state of normal, but WANTS it because she's constantly craving the hit it gives her.

Exactly. The only issue I see with the idea is that Nick can't be an endless bloodbag for Judy. It's not like he'd be able to feed her daily. Which implies that she would need more people to feed off of, which is NOT the direction I'd want to see the fic go, even if it'd be the most logical.

That's an issue I'd have no idea how to tackle.

Hmm, there's also the issue of necessary secrecy: why wouldn't they just stick Judy in a lab somewhere...

So this is Nick trying to help her by satiating her bloodlust, Little Shop of Horrors style, while Judy tries to keep holding onto what makes her a civilized individual while dealing with the symptoms of her 'rabies' in both the light sensitivity, the changes of her internal clock and perceptions, and the constant, mounting cravings for blood that she both needs to keep her going but wants to indulge in for pleasure...

I think the question of how does Nick keep her fed IS Nick's arc in this theoretical fanfic.

From the get-go I feel like I'm going to delete the whole 'Judy brings back injured Nick back to Bunnyburrow' arc on the grounds that it just doesn't seem to make much sense to me (unless someone could explain otherwise, which would be greatly appreciated). Plus, like I mentioned before, the entire third act of the script seems to be open for interpretation and it's not even clear *who* the villain was. The mayor? Somebody else? Figuring this all out isn't going to be very easy.

Has to: that's an important part of vampires-- to make one like their own.

So whatever this Night Howler-esque serum is, its also like rabies that when you bite someone, you pass it on if it doesn't kill them.

Plenty of diseases are passed through saliva. Not a stretch to say that if Judy nibbled Nick, Nick'd be in the same boat as her. That's part of why they need to keep a safe distance: its hard enough for Judy to be taken care of without causing a panic.
>>
>>3256809
Wow so Jack knocked her up already?
>>
>>3256761
Her trying to keep her secret from the eyes of the public would probably be a major plot point, and a good way to kick into act 3. Someone finds out, she's kicked off the force and she goes into hiding while the ZPD and Zootopia in general are hunting for her. So her and Nick are on the run while trying to figure out how she turned, and if there's any way to cure her.

I see Judy being disgusted by her new instincts and bloodlust, refusing to feed from Nick until she reaches the point of starvation.

And yeah, that'd definitely be Nick's arc. Trying to keep her fed and alive. Perhaps stealing bloodbags from the hospitals? He could get Finnick and his old hustling buddies to help him out with that. It could also tie into Judy and Nick being on the run later in the fic. They're after Judy because she's an abomination, and they're after Nick because of theft from the hospitals, as well as trying to hide Judy from capture.

>>3256802
This is also something to consider. HOW did she turn into a vampire? WHO did it if there even is a who? Is there a way for her to be cured?

Seriously, I wasn't kidding when I said this story has potential.

Whatever it is, it'd be something that makes Nick have to stress about it on top of everything else he has to do. A lot is riding on him, because he's the only one Judy can rely on and who knows the truth. Judy can't be let out in the world without Nick to protect her or to make sure she doesn't start hunting people. Its gadda be draining for Nick, both in terms of the blood amount and the pressure to keep delivering.

Naw, I mean overwriting like overriding. I have a bad tendency to start putting in so many of my own suggestions of how the plot should go, what the characters should say, etc. that it stops being someone else's story and slowly becomes mine.

I really felt shitty after I did a critique of someone else's work and they basically told me I rewrote their story. Its a horrible thing to do and wasn't my intention: I wanted help people be better writers, not make them think I was trying to write their ideas better.

Honestly, my primary desire in a Vampire Judy story is just Nick finding out that Judy's a vampire and freaking out. I like lighthearted comedy and wacky antics, with a possible side of feels; I'm not really interested in angst, tears, and heavy drama.

I enjoy the idea of their roles being reversed, with Nick suddenly being the one ashamed at being paranoid and afraid of someone he should know doesn't mean him harm.

General suggestions:

-OUTLINE OUTLINE OUTLINE. Have a plan from beginning, middle and end.
-Make sure the plot makes sense. Try telling the story in as few words as possible first: what happens, and then why does the next thing happen? How does this logically and inevitably lead to the end?
-A story is an argument: lay out of the framework, and then bring it all together. Another way to say this is that a story is like code: you explain the terms, and then you employ them throughout.
-Ask yourself for every part of the story: is this necessary to tell my story?
-All editing is is taking that same question and applying it to every chapter, paragraph, sentence, word and punctuation mark. Keep asking whether its important.
-Don't be afraid to throw everything away. You have to be willing to kill your baby.
-Remember that you are writing for another human being. They will be reading the story: make sure its pleasurable for them to do so.

I dunno, it could actually be somewhat interesting how her life turns if she did become pregnant. I'd say that Fru Fru seemed to get a big belly pretty fast but apparently Judy was gone for three months and the shrew could've been pregnant before she got married.
>>
>>3257176
Oh, okay. I could see how that might be an issue. Though I could also see it being hard to go "this sounds stilted" and then not give an example of better dialogue. Same sort of thing for pacing issues, inconsistencies, dead weight, etc. There are cases where examples (or other ways that may come off as saying that an idea is bad) are the best way to show how to fix the issues.

Personally, I like it a lot when people shoot back with new ideas. Most of the writing I've done has been in the form of scripts, and the ones done in collaboration with others always seem to turn out better. Being able to bounce ideas off of someone else (who doesn't have an attachment to them), get a different perspective, and to have more than one mind working on a problem helps to produce the best results. So, even if you aren't meaning to, I think that critiquing ideas is an excellent way to help writers.
>>
>>3257176
I don't see how it's a problem if it ends up making a better story. I liked your ideas of how to end Zistopia and how to write vampire judy, why would Nick or the person who came up with vampire Judy get mad if you wrote it instead of them?

I'm not buying a completely feral gestation period. Perhaps they still have fairly large litters but it's still 9 months? Maybe it's not 9 months long but not 30 days long?

Someone really should ask the powers that be if the animals follow human or their feral counterpart pregnancy patterns.

Still: Do you think she would tell Nick when she finds out she's pregnant? Or would she be too terrified of him potentially walking out, whether that thought is rational or not.

That's why I love working in groups: two heads are better than one. The best stuff my team comes up with is when there are heated arguments about whether something is better one way or another.

However, being able to take and give criticism is not a universal quality, and being able to do one doesn't mean you can do the other.

>>3257512
Well, its... different than that, I guess.

Think of it like a person learning to draw: they come up to you and say "I drew this and I'm proud of it, what do you think?"

And then you start trying to show them how they could have drawn this better, drawn that crisper, erased this line here, add a line here, oh and if your idea was to do this you can emphasize this by adding this, and since we're adding this wouldn't it be cool to add this, and now I'm just going to redraw this part because this part and this part are cool and what if I break out my watercolors and I'll just do this for you and there you go!

Well, you just redrew their picture. Now it isn't there's anymore. All they wanted to know was how to draw better, and instead you stole their idea.

Down in the dumps when I heard I was doing that, I'll admit. That might be how I work with my artists and programmers and sound people at my studio, but here there are people just looking to hear comments and criticism.

Depends. I think the anons before were talking about a general anti interspecies (all species) relation sentiment in the whole society (and not some restricted groups) and after the events of the film. In this case it would be cheap melodrama. Some fringes with anti pred-prey sentiment in a period where preds and preys distrust each other would make much more sense. Still this only my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt

What exactly did you want to do with it?

You had this comfy story of two people in love they didn't fully understand working out their problems, and it was nice when it was just the two of them, but then you had a roving gang of criminals beat the shit out of her and stick her in the hospital?
Like, you might as well have Red get drafted or shot in a drive-by or something. It's such a completely different tier of drama from the intimate feelings-searching of the earlier stuff, I can't imagine any execution would've changed that.
>>
>>3257579
I'm probably going to keep at least some of the concept art's plot points, but not all of them. Like I said, various pieces of concept art seem to come from varying periods of development, and what we've pieced together from it all doesn't quite form a concise plot yet. Therefore, I'm taking the liberty of trying to make it into a plot that is, and that will no doubt involve a lot of addition, revision, and outright deletion -- much like how the creation process went for the actual movie.

By the way, does anybody have that one image that explains the original plot? I have it mostly memorized, but I don't think I actually saved it. It would be very helpful for use as a reference

>Honestly, the birth rates are very weird for me already without an external pressure keeping the world not drowning in rodents
Why do you think bunnies are suddenly throwing themselves at foxes? Why the sudden rise in predator/prey relationships?

Deep down, in instincts it's probably best they don't know they have, the prey species sense the impending overpopulation crisis. In a last-ditch effort to thin their numbers, their very genes drive them to serve themselves up to their natural predators.

For good or ill, it is all for nought. Evolution has naturally stripped out most of the predators' drive to devour them, and civilization has further reinforced that disinclination.

They'll probably end up just using birth control and building more housing.

To be fair you got a lot more enjoyment out of playing vidya. I drew about 10 years ago and actually got kinda good. I just hadnt figured out layers yet (how to delete the rough sketches).

But, then I realized Ill never have any actual. professional use of this talent. I got tons of recognition (from furries), but... nah. Didnt really appeal to me.

So I went back to playing vidya and had fun. =)

How are we meant to be able to tell it's Chumpy and not another sheep if we can't see his stiff little dick in some incredibly tight underwear?
>>
>>3258607
Perhaps in rural areas still. Certainly not because of active threats, but you can't have that many young children effectively unsupervised without accidents happening, particularly in farming communities with tractors and machinery and what have you. It might not be discussed, but I do suspect that every rabbit family just kind of expects not everyone is going to make it through. Sapient life is precious and all that, but one or two out a 300 is just another drop in the bucket.

What I am curious about is if there are not outside pressures to curb growth, and they still have these massive families, if there is a sort of cultural aversion to birth-control.

I'm a sucker for romance. A girl who reads books under a tree in a hill, the summer the boy arrives and they meet there, the hill becomes their place. Years pass and each longs for that summer of youth, though they think the other has long forgotten. They somehow meet, confessions are made, conversations had, a relationship deepened.

Those impossible tales where everything turns out okay, but not without a fair share of troubles, adventures, close calls and tender moments.

Loving fables with happy endings.

Maybe, when he was a bit younger and thumbed through them to get to the good bits. He might even have enjoyed the stories after one bored afternoon when he kept reading after getting to the end of a particularly dogeared section.

Then he got with his first girlfriend, then that fell apart. Then the second, which dragged on a little longer but ended much the same way. Turns out cheap romance stories where everything always seems to work out no matter how hopeless just loses its allure after a while.

you can if you practice. The artist in one of their Q&A said he/she (I think it's a she?) been drawing since the age of 4 and is now in their mid 20's.
Which means there is a lot of catching up to do, but you can get there. Keep in mind the years ahead of you will pass by anyway, why not spend them meaningfully?

Also, I smiled a bit because reportedly this piece took 10 minutes to draw. How funny it is, 20 years of practice to be able to create something like that in 10 minutes.

Nah, he got more into them after his own love life turned out to be lackluster. They offered him a little bit of escapism. Nope! Just opened it so that it'll be on the tab, and the first I read of it will be when I launch Voocaroo. Blind read through's are super great, because they let you see how the story unfolds from a reader's perspective. Its like blind playtests: you get better feedback if someone sits down and plays your game without knowing what it is because its the natural progression of their understanding of the game, and shows you the effects of how you've designed your game. Same principle!

Okay guys, I'm off! Wish me luck!

Yeah, but there's no spark there.

It isn't like Nick doesn't enjoy the sex, and he is friends with the two of them... but in those novels, there's something more. Something that he hasn't been able to feel before. Something that's a little scary, a little exciting. Nick wants to love someone, anon, and those books are the closest thing he has to experiencing that.

>Judy and Nick nestle in for a quite night
>Nick brews some coffee
>Judy brings out a whole stack of novels from Nick's collection
>"What're you gonna read, Nick?"
>Nick looks at the pile resting on a coffee table and laughs, it is almost taller than Judy.
>"I'll just read the scraps, I guess." He goes back to the coffee and pours two cups.
>Judy hops onto the couch, grabs one of the copies and begins reading.
>"Not even gonna wait for me?" Nick says as he walks over to the couch.
>"Pfft, I wanted my pick of the litter."
>"Okay, you win, Carrots. Here, take your coffee."
>She takes the smaller mug from his paw. She takes a sip, she flinches and sticks out her tongue. It's black.
>"Oh, I'm sorry. Sugar's in the kitchen."
>Judy frowns and puts the book down on the couch arm and slinks off to the kitchen.
>She pours sugar and cream in, barely stirring before returning to find Nick with his nose in HER book.
>"Nick!" She puts the coffee on the table and jumps to the couch, landing on top of Nick. Straddling him. "That's my book, I was reading that!"
>A brief look of surprise recedes from his face as the fox places the novel on the couch.
>"Carrots, I'm just reading MY book which I was lending to you. Now, if you want to read it, I could give it to you after I finish it."
>"But, I want to know if the beat cop and the con artist end up together!"
>"Oh? I could tell you that, Carrots."
>"Ugh, I don't want spoilers, Nick!"
>"Well, read it for yourself." He says as he picks up and hands her the book, still on the page she had left it.
>"That was mean."
>"I have no idea what you're talking about, Judy."
>Judy steps off of Nick and sits next to him, her side pressed against mine.
>They end up together, the characters, I mean.

It's down so deep, he doesn't actually realize that it's there. He feels it's pull every once in a while, but he's always quick to push it away and out of mind. Those fleeting thoughts are silly, he thinks.

But with the books? Its safe to let the emotions bubble up. He knows it's silly, self-inserting like he does, but he doesn't stop. It's fine, Nick tells himself. He's smart. He knows the characters aren't real. He can let the feelings wash over him, put the book down, and then go back to normal life.

He's not doing it for the little bit of relief and release he needs, oh no. It's just an (embarrassing) hobby, Nick says to himself.

>>3260754

I'm honestly surprised they didn't do something like that in the movie. He didn't sound like he spoke to his mother much, and if she came back crying and hugging him and all that it'd be a much more happy moment for his character.

it seems so easy too.

Anon...I understand your frustrations, but bune is for foks.

I'm still thinking that he's actually still on good terms with his mom, and all this melodrama about how he's estranged from her is way overblown.
>>
>>3260735
Nice correction Chumpy
>>
>>3260823
freudian slip there. haha. ha.
>>
>>3260831

I don't think they are on bad terms or anything melodramatic like that, but I do also think that with his path in life he just doesn't have much time to talk to her. There can be a variety of reasons that he simply doesn't keep much contact, maybe visits every once in a while.

That and I think part of the melodrama comes from him being a hustler for a living and most people doubting a mom would be very approving of it.

it's okay, anon, if you care so much you can have it. It's okay if you've been so hurt you feel uncomfortable seeing someone else being happy. I'm sure someone will love you too one day.
>>
>>3257656

I'm just salty about how out of character Judy is.
Nick is fine half of the time, but it is like Bernielover doesn't care about characters without a penis.

fffuck femboy Jack with Nick is so hot for some reason. What are you doing to me, Anon?

They've said contradictory things over the subject. It's clearly still up in the air.
