I was kind of interested in it for a while because Yit's art was improving at a pretty impressive rate, and because it seemed like it was one of the most interesting Zootopia comics coming out of the dA community (which, mind you, is not at all a high bar to clear). My interest waned when the focus last went away from Nick and Judy, which is about the same point I realized the plot didn't really have a clear direction or end goal, Yit kept introducing more characters I didn't care about, and I generally just lost any sense of what the fuck was supposed to be happening.
That page is a great respite, though. Finally the comic went from boring to delightfully schlocky.

Was thinking about this factor the other day, but from a different angle.
I feel the biggest problem with bringing out Z2, for us that is, is that after looking at 3 years of zoot porn, when we go to watch Z2, the family friendly Disney release will be so tame in comparison, that we'll get bored watching it.
I mean, there's no way it would even go close to watching the rabbit strip off in Beastars, and we probably all accepted that as just a normal part of the cartoon.

Personally, I feel the biggest issue with making a Z2 is what do you make it about? You can't really make it about the same theme, which was based on the developing political climate at the time. Dunno, detaching canon and fandom is pretty much second nature for me. I don't expect Lone Digger nor I expect SGAR comfy Violet Diaries comics, I expect Zootopia just more of it. I don't accept naked Judy as a normal part of the fandom, even if majority of the artists now have drawn porn. I can "see" her naked much like the official naked Nick advertisement.

Everyone has their own opinion about it that becomes more and more polarized as every species want their own dedicated area, eventually starts pushing mammals out of their houses and/or causes mammals to dislike mammals from other places come to their zone in the city (eg: A panther would get shit for living in Tundratown). Since it is such a hot issue, people are always watching for news about it and everyone tries to capitalize on it. Judy and Nick are caught on it where saying that they don't support it means they are fine with mammals living badly for the sake of what might be a minority and high rate of accidents due to size differences and saying they support it means their previous message of living together in peace was just a lie.

Now that Nick and Judy are both cops in Zootopia, they both fight crimes. However sinister spy Tadashi Gorki decides to steal from a secret factory secret sample with powers and also Bellwether from jail, he's must become a rightful mayor of Zootopia, but later his helpers and Bellwether will want to grab Tadashi, to take possession to reign, will be Nick and Judy save Tadashi and grab villains from taking possession of samples.

Nick, Judy and Tadashi are sent to capital city - Charmingtown, to track down the remaining bandits to any samples, and defeat Ferb Dogfalusi, Bellwether and their minions. While Ferb is not disguised Nick.

And while the scientist goes away to get some coffee at a vending machine nearby, a janitor steps in to the lab with musiv at full volume on his earbuds, knocking the petri dish and cutting himself accidentally trying to fix things before getting found out...

The wolf soldiers don't notice as a raccon sneaks up and bites one of them.
They escape and the other one drives his friend to the hospital in zootopia, knowing that his is rabies and he needs threatment.

What he doesn't know that this is a new line of the rabies virus mutated that incubates in the matter of minutes. His partner turns on him just at the edge of the city as he pulls into the trees to get away from his rabid partner.

Later... two heavily salivating wolves show up at the edge of Tundra town in the snowny night as they run towards the market full of mammals.

I like to think that someone at Disney just keeping an eye on the fandom and realising that, like the 'Dragnet'(?) tag line 'A million stories in this city, Z1 was just one of them'.
I mean, theres plenty of real world adventures out there that have been transposed into all the fandom fics we're reading, maybe Zoot could become a major serialised cartoon series with hour long episodes.
I'm sure a larger studio like Disney could afford the render time to produce a TV version at least as good as the movie, and hold together for at least five or six seasons (looking at Futurama here), lampooning current affairs, or more Disney like, putting out a social message.
