>>11833524It's kind of hard to describe since it sounds counter-intuitive in English, but most of the time in manga and whatnot, sentences are separated by spacing rather than by any sort of punctuation. That, combined with the fact that some characters kind of function as punctuation all their own makes it so that English-style punctuation is really only used for emphasis and/or things that don't naturally exist in the Japanese language (ellipses is probably the best example).For example, the character か when used at the end of a sentence for all intents and purposes is a question mark, so an English-style question mark is only used when an interrogative sentence doesn't end with it, or the author really wants to emphasize their confusion. Same with よ and exclamation marks, depending on context. As for why sentences don't often end with "。" that's because in Japanese it's more like if we were talking via morse-code, and I used "FULL STOP" at the end. It's a little harsh, but it does have its uses. More often than not, though, when an author wants to start a new sentence, they'll just hit enter and start the sentence like it's a new paragraph. It makes sense in Japanese, I swear.
