Borba's excuse was always "yeah well we never see Judy arguing about abortion so how do you know this is out of character??" but he fails basic underpinnings of her personality that would work in any situation, like her softheartedness and sense of purpose, instead writing her as a violent, hostile crybaby.The defense I feel works much better with Weaver's stuff, in that trying to overlay what we know of Judy's personality into a scenario with no movie parallel (like getting horny as fuck in a car or debating a threesome) leaves room for plausible deniability, yet we still see basic fundaments of her and Nick's canon personality shine through.It's the difference between "I don't think this is how Judy would react to Nick wagging his dick in her face" and "Judy is a clueless overfeminine hypermoe kindergartener" like in so many Japanese interpretations.
