>>10311492I like to think the original version of zootopia ended with predators revolting after finding out the savage threat had been faked for years and overthrow the city government. A mass round up of prey would then follow. A new booming population does need a large food source and it's not like the prey of the city were anything better than mindless animals at that point.
>>10311588Yeah, Zootopia would go full French revolution at that point. Guillotines for everybody.

>>10311650But keep in mind that they are incredibly her minded. Kill the leaders and the population would freak out and chaos would be everywhere. 10 to 1 but every single pred has weapons built in that scare the shit out of prey just seeing them. If they're organized enough, taking down the city would be simpler than you think. Prey aren't fighters. Get a few to surrender and the rest will follow.

>>10312287>>10312436I don't understand the dislike of Gideon. Yes some people do some disgusting, distasteful things with his character in fanworks but that's true of any character. Granted he was a bully yes but he showed remorse for his actions years later, sought help to deal with his problems, and started a small business in his home town which turned out to be a success.Nick meanwhile was a Pawpsicle pusher who chose to remain bitter at the world around him and needed the events of the Nighthowler incident to want to change himself for the better.

>>10312628Except Nick was also constantly bombarded by the bigotry of other mammals, which constantly reinforced his decision. In Bunnyburrow, people were just afraid of Gideon. >>10312677Hi again, did you check out "A story about my Uncle"?
>>10312628I can't speak for others but I don't have a hate for the foxlet, just when people try to pair him up with Judy. You're right that Gideon redeemed himself. >>10312628for me it's because he's a shitty characterhe pretty much only exists as a plot device to help judy solve the nighthowler case by complete coincidencehe looks pretty stupid too, his hair is dumb looking and the tufts on the side of his head are odd to mehis character isnt very interesting in general eitherpersonally i dont have a huge problem with judeon unless you're trying to justify it plot-wise, half of the pairings i ship are just based on "they look cute together" and not much else

>>10312778>his hair is dumb lookingI got the same hair style....
>>10312628I don't think it was ever stated if HE himself sought help, or if he was forced to get help. Thus learning that what he did was wrong, after the fact.Nick gave up since he felt fighting wasn't worth, after undergoing countless years of emotional abuse by people that he trusted and normal strangers that he didn't do anything to. To the point wherever he developed panic attacks, No one can just bonce back and shrug that shit off. Only when someone extended a helping hand did he finally feel that someone wanted him to do good. And mostly since Gideon is just a pretty weak character, it's easy to take the piss out of him. When their isn't much there to begin with. If Gideon was a central character and Nick was in Gideon's? I would be making fun of Nick just as I would be Gideon..
>>10312800If we use Stu and Bonnie as the standard for Bunnyburrow, which is really all we can do considering we don't actually see much of anyone else, then it's more fear than hostile bigotry in Bunnyburrow, and it would be hard to tell whether the difficulties Gideon faced were because he was a fox or because he was a fucking shithead. Meanwhile, in Zootopia, we explicitly see Nick being judged poorly and repeatedly on the basis of his species, by a range of mammals up to and including the Chief of Police.
>>10312628I think it is mostly because Gideon's role tends to be the same role that Jack usually occupies, to be some sort of rival of Nick for Judy's affections. Thus he tends to get an automatic level of hate whenever he shows up.>sought help to deal with his problems,>Nick meanwhile was a Pawpsicle pusher who chose to remain bitter at the world around him and needed the events of the Nighthowler incident to want to change himself for the better. While I will admit that Gideon was able to turn his life around, and that is impressive, we still don't know how that came to be in the first place. It is much, much more likely that, instead of Gideon himself seeking to deal with his problems, he was forced into therapy once his bullying got him into serious trouble. From there, Gideon could realize his issues, and works to make something honest of himself with the help of the doctor and possibly family and some friends.Nick, on the other hand, we know seems to have only had the support of his mother, and all but said outright they were not doing well money wise. Nick never seemed to be the bullying type, instead using his wits to get money in a way that most mammals would not even realize they were had. He continues on this path for most of his life, and never chooses to change because A) once it becomes a pattern/habit that doesn't hurt him, why change it? B) we saw just how much prejudice he faced on a daily basis; from nearly being ran over and the driver doesn't care, to the chief of police refusing to take his word

>>10312749I agree but his behavior didn't help, he most likely drove away other Mammals that could have been decent to him. Flash is a DMV worker (who derives enjoyment from the misery of other living creatures similar to Lawyers and State Highway Patrolmen) and Finnick is his partner in crime in it for cash.>>10312761Gideon and Stu do business together, Judy becoming friends with him is by no means out of the question. Or at the very least polite acquaintances.>>10312778If we're going by that mentality, any character was a plot device. There wouldn't be Savage incidents without Bellwether, Judy wouldn't have gone to Tundra Town without Flash, and if Stu didn't plant the Nighthowlers Gideon wouldn't have stated what his family called them. Design wise I'm kinda glad not every character is nice to look at. It offers variety from what's typical but I do understand why his appearance would be offputting.>>10312857Give me an example where Nick had anything resembling a panic attack in the movie outside of when he was a kit, not once do I recall him being fearful or displaying signs of a panic attack. Betrayed by Judy's action yes but nothing to indicate deep lasting trauma>>10312872That's more on the fan's work than Gideon's actual character. Any poor artist or writer can make an ass out of any character. Sticking Gideon in Jack's place and pulling it off poorly reflects more on the creator rather than the character. Jack doesn't get much leeway given he is pretty much a fan character but we do have a canon reference for Gideon, which really isn't all that bad but nothing special overall. Nick's only crime was complacency as, to what we know, he was perfectly content to scam and hustle not seeking gainful employment anywhere or bettering himself through education or. He faces discrimination I'm not arguing that but he just plain didn't try. He didn't try to save up to take classes or earn some kind of work degree. Nick gave up, Gideon didn't

>>10313133
>>10313092>But his behavior didn't helpYou mean the behavior that makes him super likable to the point of getting mammals that hate him to give him things? That behavior?
>>10313092And to clarify I mean fearful as in 'experiencing past trauma's fear', not 'holy shit this Bunny is gonna get me killed' fear.

>>10313155Given Nick thought he could get away with burying a Mobster's Grandmother in a Skunk Butt Rug, I don't think he makes many friends that could help improve the quality of his life. He's always one step away from disaster. Also, I don't think anyone beyond Judy or Flash actually 'like' him. His mother is a given. No fan of Nick should be without one!
>>10313211>thought he could get away with burying a mobster's grandmother in a skunk butt rugNick didn't do that, Big did that. Nick just sold him a rug, it was Big's decision on what to do with it. Big clearly knew what it was before he used it; Nick was kicked out because of what he did, but Big had to update him on what happened with it.
What's everyone listening to? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWaljXUiCaE for me
>>10313092>If we're going by that mentality, any character was a plot device.you're technically right, you could even say nick himself was a plot device by that logic, but other characters are also interesting, whereas gideon was pretty much just a generic kind of redemption story, and if you like that theres nothing wrong with it but personally i dontto be honest though bellwether wasn't a great character or a great villain either imo she was pretty generic and her even being a villain felt like a bit of a cheap plot twist to menot every character has to look good either, i just personally dont like some of the design choices for gideon, that's pretty subjective though
>>10313058He's a bit overweight yeah but calling him fat is a bit harsh>>10313269You are correct but the point still stands, Nick tries to get away with things with the few 'friends' he's got when really he shouldn't be pushing his luck. It's like he can barely control himself.
>>10313315We also don't actually know the story behind the rug. Maybe Nick did it on purpose to get the fuck out of the mafia.

>>10313092>That's more on the fan's work than Gideon's actual character.Obviously, though I guess that is on me for not outright stating that' Gideon's role in FANFICTION is what I meant; we have seen what Jack in fanfiction has done to his reputation so a similar case happened here with Gideon. Someone sees Gideon, the first thought is that he is there to cause drama for WildeHopps.>but he just plain didn't try. He didn't try to save up to take classes or earn some kind of work degree. Nick gave up, Gideon didn'tBut did Gideon really not give up? I still say this again, him being able to turn his life around IS impressive, don't get me wrong, but it is obvious he got therapy for one reason or another. Maybe he had given up like Nick, and continued to be a bully until something serious happened to force him into therapy. Maybe something happened to where Gideon realized just how horrible he was being, and got help. Either way, he got help for his anger issues. It was either that, or continue to let his rage control him and eventually do something serious enough to land him in jail.Nick, on the other hand, tried to be a good person at the very least up until the scouts, and then he was showed how people viewed foxes. If Nick ever tried to be a good person after that, we know how that would most likely end up. Once he gets into the habit of hustling, it was probably something that would be hard to break; after all, why try to gain employment or education (though obviously Nick seems to taught himself quite a bit about business and people skills) when he was most likely going to face discrimination? It is definitely a character flaw for Nick, he let himself be controlled by stereotypes, but his situation was much different than Gideon's. Gideon obviously had support, Nick didn't.
>>10312669Thanks guys for the warm welcome. I haven't drawn in years and haven't done animals before. I'll go by Nikolu.
>>10312628I liked Gideon when I watched the movie. I started hating him because of the fandom. Not even Judeon stuff was the problem. I found that kinda charming, but I was already a bit burned from seeing weird Hoppshauser and BogoHopps. The problem was the, everything else. I mean every boogeyman story from people about furries is amplified a thousand with poor Gid. Other characters have weird stuff, yeah, but the majority feels somewhat cute and safe. Even Gideon safe stuff have this looming "vore/paw/feeding/etc" aura.
>>10313459>Gideon obviously had support, Nick didn't.We don't know that, maybe he went to the psychologist himself after he decided to change. We know he has family but not how they are of if they supported him.
>>10313211Thanks! >>10313556Its nice to meet you, Nikulo.
>>10312972>>10312972>You've drawn before, haven't you?>For how much time have you lurked?I started drawing Zootopia a few weeks ago, but wow its a lot more difficult than I thought it'd be. I've dropped by a few times in the last couple months but this is the first time I'm posting art.
>>10313639That's A Signature, or TerryHe does critiques of draws, he's great
>>10313575that also applies to my case, I dislike WildeHopps because the fandom, before watching the movie I kinda get on the train of the but once I got to the fandom I started to dislike it thanks to the fans. Constantly abloo abloo comics, hate to any other ships that goes against WH, people ship them because they're just the male and female leads, people made art and shipped them even the movie was released.
>>10311999>Casual Finnick plsThis is the first time I'm trying to draw Finnick and he's surprisingly difficult. Sorry he came out looking like Stewie from Family Guy. There's hardly any art of him not angry or being cute.
>>10313311No I do agree, Gideon is nothing special. The reaction some people have to him just seems to be a bit overblown is all, to which, your reaction isn't.>>10313598This guy, this guy right here gets it. Too many unknowns so we have to fill in the blanks with assumption and clues.>>10313459And we saw that once Nick tried it wasn't so bad. When Nick was finally given the opportunity to better himself, he was given the motivation to follow-through which he previously lacked. Gideon's apology to Judy had influences of a therapist or anger management class in the terminology that used, he most likely received help to better himself. Whether he sought it himself or was forced to is up to speculation like you said. If it's the latter he is more in Nick's boat than people would initially recognize, the difference being Nick had a variety of Mammals that discriminated against him, while Gideon at most had Sheep or Bunnies>>10313575Stating what I said before, some fans do some *really* gross and disturbing things with him DX>>10313623Not to be an Eager McBeaver but what is 'Or this'?

>>10312222Sometimes G might be a bit weird, but he's a good guy.And his stuff is usually around 90% comfy.
>>10316862Sherlock's role as the perfect, flawless detective is mostly a modern thing. The novels have him as pretty weird.>Watson describes Holmes as "bohemian" in his habits and lifestyle. He is described by Watson in The Hound of the Baskervilles as having a "cat-like" love of personal cleanliness, Holmes is an eccentric with no regard for contemporary standards of tidiness or good order.>His companion condones the detective's willingness to bend the truth (or break the law) on behalf of a client—lying to the police, concealing evidence or breaking into houses—when he feels it morally justifiable, but condemns Holmes' manipulation of innocent people in "The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton".>Holmes derives pleasure from baffling police inspectors with his deductions and has supreme confidence—bordering on arrogance—in his intellectual abilities. He also smoked opium and did cocaine, but that was apparently pretty normal for Victorian times. There's a reason they based Dr. House on him.
>>10316852>>10316865Most of the things Bogo initially said (before he dropped the impossible case on her lap to get her to quit) were valid complaints. She abandoned her post while she was still learning the city and going through what I'm assuming every newbie cop did in ZPD. She's so determined to want to prove herself as a cop that she's willing to put herself and others in danger instead of working her way up the usual way, which takes time and persistence.
>>10316935In other words, if you want to make a Zootopia/Sherlock Holmes AU, Nick would make a perfect Holmes, and Judy is a decent Watson.
>>10316910I said technically! I'm not a neuroscientist, anthropologist, or a sex researcher, so I could be incredibly wrong. But if you like prostate stimulation that doesn't mean you're 100% exclusively gay. You could be something like a 2 or 3 on the Kinsey Scale.
>>10316887It's mathematical definition is 'a straight or curved continuous extent of length without breadth'. So no, it's entirely ambiguous.
>>10316935So for Judy to be Holmes she'd have to be addicted to heroin and coke?
>>10316964That's literally a story right now. A Study in Gold or whatever.
>>10316879He's not gay, but if there's somebody fluffy and with a nice ass that's down for making out then hey, it's all good.
>>10314373Fun fact:The first two movies in your list, Walt absolutely fucking hated, especially Alice. He built up so much expectation for them, that when he saw the final products, he thought that Peter was an unlikable brat and that Alice had no heart or was sympathetic.Disney started his career with a lot of live action/animation shorts starring Alice, so Wonderland was a major disappointment. He only rarely let re-releases of those happen during his lifetime. With Pinocchio, I believe that was one that Walt had more fondness for, but I believe he hated Jiminy Cricket. It didn't help that Pinocchio released during WWII, so the movie didn't get the big kind of international box office that Snow White did.
>>10316974Whatever the modern, socially accepted equivalent of that is. Possibly into weed, LSD, or a heavy drinker.
>>10314624>"Nick, why are you in a relationship with another species?">"Don't you know that's premeditated sin?!"
>>10316999> he thought that Peter was an unlikable brat and that Alice had no heart or was sympathetic.he wasn't wrong.
>>10316964I agree with this. Elementary does a fairly decent job at showing that not only is Holmes in touch with his surroundings, but he's very adept at reading people and emotion as well, though he doesn't always seem to care if he's very blunt. Nick seems better at this than Judy does, since she didn't pick up on how strained and sarcastic he was when they first met.

>>10317157Seems like straight nighthowler would be more useful as a performance enhancer; great for MMA or football, I bet.If you wanted to make it sort of a speedy high like coke you'd probably have to modify it somehow.
