Comicanon, I know you're busy. But nobody else I know has a VR headset. So here are some questions you can give yes/no answers to.

Have you tried Vivecraft, Thumper, or playing Telltale games/walking simulators in Virtual Desktop/Bigscreen so it looks like you're directing a movie?

Apple's ARKit is exciting, right?!

Get anything good in the summer sales going on?

Why can't more VR games have openings so good they almost make you vibrate from how fun they are, like I Expect You To Die?

Is it true SUPERHOT is just the Touhou series from Sakuya's perspective?

Will Knack 2 finally be the one?

Its always a wonderful day when you hear from the people you care about...

>>10217313
I've tried a few of those! They have a lot of potential, and I'm excited to see how they iterate on the medium in the future.

Apple IS exciting! But I'm focusing on Google for now-- they'll be taking the lead for mobile VR.

I got Hollow Knight! Been meaning to play it and a few other games, but I never have time to play!

And more polish will come to VR when it becomes more of a stable medium. People want safe bets-- the people developing for it now are crazy gamblers betting it all on a dream!

Goodnight, magical and wonderful /ztp/ threads! Wherever you go, there's comfy in the threads. Wherever you may be, the threads are your home.
>>
>>10217561
When she was at her lowest Charlie seemed pretty hungry for pity. Hell, her inner monologue in Transformation was practically drowning in self-pity and loathing, there's a pretty deep well of sadness there that she doesn't seem that defensive about, just Remmy's unobservant and doesn't care much.

I'm assuming if someone took the time to care about her and her issues she'd probably start venting pretty quick.
>>
>>10217660
Or potentially some weird mix of the two!
>>
>>10217675
Oh my goodness I forgot to reshill!

Avo finds the Wannabite in a familiar situation-- in fact, she's in a familiar situation! All alone. The cause of predators going savage has been found, but there are still wounds left to mend after her attack. Will she be able to ask for forgiveness, or is this too much to ask of herself? Find out in Begging for Forever, Chapter 4, by Otterly!

Just realized that a month after Judy's press conference, there were 27 ATTACKS, meaning that at least 27 people were hurt or killed after Lionheart was arrested and unable to contain the nighthowlered mammals. I mean yeah, it figures, but that didn't sink in until now.

So, are there still myths about stuff like chimeras and the like in Zootopia?

It wasn't even a month, it is one week after the press conference that the news was reporting the 27th attack. A single week, and they are having an average of a little more than 3 attacks per day, inside one city. Honestly, I would be absolutely terrified if I was in Zootopia during that time.

Now the question is if Bellwether kept that rate of darting animals throughout the full three months, or if she just went extreme for the first few weeks to sort of solidify the fear of savage animals and then tones it down to maybe a single attack per day or something like that.

>>10220515
Maybe? If I remember correctly, the myth of the chimera came about when people mistook ancient pictures of winged lions as lions with goat heads or something like that.

Dragons would be an interesting myth, as they would have to be titanic in size in order to scare the mega fauna animals.

There was a similar one by Borba, but as we don't mention him...
>>
>>10220554
Oh you're right, it was just one week as per the news report. That is incredibly bold of Dawn, but I guess she figures she can get away with it since Lionheart is out of the way. So it went on for three months? I thought it was a month until Judy quit.

>>10220560
It's at the beginning of "Judy Gives Up".
>>
>>10220515
Honestly, the thought of Mythical creatures in Zootopia has a lot of potential Spook factor.purely based on how impossibly strange they'd end up looking
Also, I get the feeling that the Chimera would end up being used as a symbol to promote Prey and Preds remaining separate in zootopia's world history.

Borba get free relevance for having art better than hobbyist artists. On the fandom one of the most popular comics was sketchy scribbles on a college notebook side and where most people are busy 20~30 people burning their already short leisure time to create some fancontent, thats A LOT.

Borba overdid the drama in "Night Howlers Effect" (and all his other comics) but his art is really good.

>There was a shout as Gideon made his way downstairs, clad in his new pair of blue jeans.

>"Gideon Grey! What in tarnation do y' think you're doin' dressed like that?!"

>"By lawsey y' are! No son of mine is goin' out on th' town dressed like... like some hooligan! YOu get right back upstairs and put some proper clothin' on. An' fer cryin' out loud, cut y' hair! It looks a mess!"

>"That delinquent bunny wouldn't know cool if'n it ran over her! You do NOT associate with people of her... her... attitude! Not while under my roof!"

>"Well maybe I don't WANNA be under yer roof!"

>The shouting match was broken by the distant rumbling of an approaching motorcycle. Before te elder Grey could stop hm Gideon had vaulted over the stairwell and dashed through the front door. Along the road, in a rapidly approaching (but strictly adhering to the speed limit) cloud of dust was a grey, long-eared figure perched atop an old, beat-up bike that had once made berry deliveries. It screeched to a halt in the front yard, sending a spray of road gravel flying in its wake/ The rabbit rider was wearing a big pair of cheap sunglasses, blue jeans and a black jacket emblazoned with the insignia of the Hopps' Angels. She smirked as she dismounted, though there was no humor in it. A matching pair of sunglasses was tossed to the waiting fox, who caught them expertly.

>"Yep. Jus' talkin with th' olds."

>"Major drag. C'mon, we can go cow tipping an' berry picking."

>The Grey with gray hair made to object, but his words were drowned out by the sound of a revving engine. The younger hopped awkwarly onto the bike (It being only half his size.), hanging on carefully as it pulled away, far more unsteaily than it had arrived. Gabriel Grey watched his son drive off into the distance, fuming. He hadn't taken a single second to even say goodbye, his inches long hair blowing in the breeze like some sort of hippy. He cursed. His son, the rebel without a pause.

If odds, I actually try to sleep in there.

Y'know, with it's high density of Predators to Prey Pack street probably would've been one of the safer places to be during Bellwether's plot.
Like, the entire point of the thing was to make Prey afraid of Preds, so having a Pred attack other Preds makes next to no sense.
Though that does bring up the question of Why Dora was targeted and not someone at the Apartment, because one of the few Prey inhabitants of an majority Pred neighborhood getting mauled is just the kind of sensationalist headline that Bellwether's plot would need.

I think many artists including weaver were already decided on it that only land mammals evolved, and so chicked meat is game.

>>
>>10221697
Brids aren't sentient in our world and people eat weird alternate sources of protein. It's not too strange to think sapient animals would be more okay with eating insects.

Bugburga is Zootopia tofu, except more popular because animals don't care about eating insects.
>>
>>10221479
Maybe. That reminds me of that one comic where Judy wants to watch Nock eat chicken. It was weird because it seems innocent enough in style and execution, but still comes off as fetishistic.

>>
>>10221697
If fish aren't sentient bugburgas make no sense.

If cows aren't sentient chickedburgers make no sense.

Everything can be explained by some simple plot, like chicken were too hard to industrialize, or peta was too strong in Zootopia's universe or domasticated bird meat is like dog and cat meat for us humans.

Byron said, no to sentient birds.

If you see a plothole in that, use your fantasy to fill it.
>>
>>10221613
Dora was targeted because she was a business owner and gave speeches and such.

>>

>>
>>10221697
Chicken and fish are probably taxed to shit because prey hold the majority of the governmental power.

Imagine trying to put a Bill in the House about making it easier for mammals to slaughter and butcher chickens by the hundreds of thousands with a room full of prey.

>>
>>10221697
Plenty of mammals, including foxes, already eat insects as part of their normal diet. It isn't too far of a stretch to think that they would expand on that and make it a common food source. Prey would probably also feel more comfortable about predators eating insects, something that is very far away from mammals, than eating birds, creatures that somewhat resemble mammals more than bugs do.
>>

>>
>>10221697
Zootopia as a city looks like it's from the future or at least an alternative present that adjusted to accommodate that type of society. Insect protein was already a big part of many carnivore and omnivore diets, it'd make sense that that tradition could develope from a niche market to a widely consumed food source with a supply chain easily controlled.
It might also be like that because there are high standards of "animal rights" extended to birds and maybe even fish as all the different types of mammals developing sapience at the same time raises moral and ethical questions of "personhood".

It was newer really about domestic animals in general, it was more about "human bred species" I guess.

If a species would exists because mammals would domasticate it, it is highly possible it would be similiar to our domestic version.

Also zootopians would most probably domasticate different animals than we humans did.

Ive been trying to get back into it but I keep getting worked up over stupid things. Dumb shit makes me angry.
I wish there was more motivation coming from people here but most of what I see and get is just sarcasm and trolling. I think less people even want more stuff to enjoy than they want stuff to get mad at.
It is making me depressed that anons come back and we celebrate their return but then they never post again after that. Its like everyone is waiting to come back and see how much they missed but they missed relatively little because everyone is waiting for someone else to go first.

Those don't seem like as big a problem to me, couples often come to like each others' idiosyncrasies, though obviously not always. While he's been annoyed by some of her shenanigans, he's also been a willing participant, and seems to come around a bit on the annoyances over time (he basically caved entirely on sleeping together). Likewise Charlie isn't discouraged by Remmy's stiff stick-in-the-mud attitude.

The crime line's harder to cross, since any longterm arrangement would inevitably lead to A Talk about how they'll deal with Charlie's criminal career and I don't see them ever agreeing, with the possible exception that since Remmy's lost his job and is about to be in a world of shit he might need to start doing crimes to make ends meet too.

I don't think so, A Neaderthal with Human owner would only be equal with a Sabertooth and a Tiger owner. A Lizzard is a different genome, and everything.

As said on the image above "intelligene comes with the ability to utilize ones surroundings".

I don't see why a Tiger, that was eating a lizards, wouldn't try to tame it and turn it into a pet, if we humans domasticated wolves and pigs and everything.

If anything it would be illogical for a sentient being not to try to use another living being to his own benefit. It may sound cruel, but it's the law of nature, not to mention domastication started in old times where survival was the most important. Domestication is part of getting the edge on enemy tribes and such

It's been 7 month's, for my first fanfic and I fully believe that everyone (like 2 vocal people) has just given up on me and it.

Stuck between the rut of: "Should I work and take my time where I could be spending time doing thing's I actually enjoy doing? Or spend countless hours working on something that is nothing more then a slog to me, and something I am ashamed and embarrassed that I made?"

I mean I DID enjoy writing it at the start of it, but with every single IRL thing that happened to me. I just had set back and set back, and now I think of it as a chore to continue it.

It's an endless cycle.

That's kinda what made her reaching out in Savages so sad. It's not the suicide thing, that's just an extreme interpretation, and Remmy didn't really do anything wrong per se, but it was definitely as close to opening up as Charlie's come but Remmy wasn't really able to help. She seemed to close back up at the end of it and while she only briefly appeared in Wannabite she seemed "back to her usual self" (as in, buried everything back down).

Her day-to-day might be fine, but the main plot of Pack Street (combined with the one glimpse of her internal monologue in Transformation) definitely makes it seem like she's going through a rough time. Plus there's shades of Nick there where the hustling is just what's expected of foxes so they tend to find themselves trapped in that life by what others think of them, and since we saw how insecure and unhappy with herself Charlie is it's tempting to extend Nick's issues to Charlie.

Certainly part of the reason either Charlie/Marty or Charlie/Remmy is popular is that of the girls she's probably the one most in need of someone else she can open up to.

A couple weeks now, I guess.

I've been trying to finish my Late Night TT, but every time I sit down to write it, I just don't have the energy. I don't know if I was just demotivated because I didn't really get all that much attention for the PI TT, or if I just don't have it in me anymore. I used to me able to consistently write 4k words a day. Now I can barely write a couple hundred in a week.
I don't know. The more I think about it, the more I just want to give up. I've still got all these ideas and stories that I could write, but I don't know.

>But neither finding was that simple. When Flynn turned his spotlight on the top-producing engineers, he saw that they, too, were givers who did more favors than they received. Somehow they managed to produce large quantities of high-quality work while helping their colleagues succeed. And when I focused on the salespeople with the highest revenues, I found that they had unusually high scores on the desire to benefit others. These successful givers produced 50% more annual revenue, on average, than colleagues who focused less on helping others.

The thing the anon is pointing out is that Byron has no "last word" on what is or isn't on Zootopia, as someone above them could just put the hammer down on something the higher ups want and he could either bend or be replaced. It's not novel or original thought, it's just how shit works on any industry. That being said, most Disney higher up care less about what goes to the movie than what profit can be obtained from it, that's why you get the new R2D2 or Protozoot literally KINO canned in favor of the hot furry mess we got.
>>
>>10222852
They were just about ready to start fully animating everything, despite them admitting there was something wrong about Prototopia but they couldn't really put their finger on what. At least until Pixar spelled it out for them that the world was a shithole that no one would care about.
At that point, they threw out the collar idea and basically started animation AS they were doing the storyboard. They compared it to building train tracks while moving the train at the same time, it was that late into development. Even then, there was still a time during this transition where Nick was the protagonist, until they figured that it would be better for Judy to be the point of view.

>Be as naive and as innocent as possible to activate Weaver's maternal /ss/ trap card. Do not ever actually achieve penetration, but it's cute that you want to.

The trick is to make the sex really comfy looking so Nobby draws it instead.

and I think it was the right choice.
Protozoot maybe is realistic in the aspect that we all are born in to a broken world and we all have the potential to make it better...
But that's version is equal to a girl introducing gender equality in arabia, and we should suddenly believe that the woman raping and mutilating man are suddenly good guys too.

You can't make people take part in a broken system for generations and suddenly save them in a span of a movie.

Why do you think hunger games took 3 books?

of course it was the right choice, imagine the if the wider public saw that scene of a kid getting yellow star during his bar mitzvah.

I'm still surprised that Nobby drew actual penetration of these two (although its still hidden). He usually likes to tease the requester

>Shit we need to drop the whole thing, what else we got?
>Here is this pitch from some guy called ... Goldman?
>Perfect

Joking aside the core elements are pretty much the same, only the change in perspective is different and the plot devices.

They slowly replaced everything.

Even without the collar version there was a Nick Judy chase in little rodentia, and Judy would've asked for Nick's co-operation in exchange for dropping the charges for the hustling.

That was replaced with Nick actually walking away and Judy counter-hustling him into helping her.

small changes day by day, mutlitple animators working in different versions, and watching them together choosing which one should be the final version.
>>
>>10223220
Nick Judy chase on little rodentia was after he escaped prison, wasn't it?

that was the protozoot chase where he was arrested for Wilde Times.

second version -> no collars, no wilde times -> pawsicle hustler
arrested by judy for hustling

third version, walks away only to be confronted by her again later

Even then, there is no way to change a system that has been on for so long so quickly in a satisfactory way. I wanted to know how they tackled it still, especially if they don't have "and everyone lived happily ever after".

>"and everyone lived happily ever after".
but it would've been that.
There would've been this over the top moment of Judy and Nick fighting the bad guys in public infront of thousands of cameras, and she removes Nick collar infront of millions of viewers.

and everyone would be like, wow, she trusts her without the collar this is so great, maybe we don't have to fear predators at all!

It would've been unrealistic, far too optimistic etc.

and then the city would burn, because after so much oppresion predators would go all out.

Smug did a one-shot kind of about the ending to Prototopia and in it Nick makes a point; after all the celebration and partying is done over the removal of the collars, mammals are going to realize they still hate each other. Prey thought of predators as savages for ages, and predators have been basically slaves for generations and now they can do something about those bottled up feelings. It was going to get worse in Zootopia before it can actually start healing, and Nick just can't stay after everything. Judy gets sad at this, until Nick mentions he could probably get work "on a farm out in the country" ran by bunnies, but he would have to run it by their daughter first.

Not a perfect ending by any means, there is going to be more pain before things get better, but it is a step forward.

>>10223325
Pretty sure it would be that scene where Judy is bound while a savage Nick is defending her. Yeah, it would be stupid, but it could still happen with a bit of realism behind it. Maybe everyone is still skeptical about it, but the idea is revealed and some people that thought "collars are required" now think "collars might sometimes not be required depending on who is wearing".

>>10223315
I could take a "nothing changed too much ending" as long as it shown how at least Nick and Judy got something positive out of it and foiled some evil mastermind. Sure it didn't overthrow the system or changed the world, but it did improve the life of some people.

>>10223314
yeah, preds not leaving to live on majority predator cities (if there is for bunnies, there gotta be ones wolves, otters, bears and whatnot) is kind of the sword of damocles of the whole thing, but still a nice concept to explore.

>>10223376
I enjoy the idea of Nick secretly living with the Hopps after the event of the movie, still wearing a collar but deactivated and whatnot. It's a more level headed ending for the concept.

From what I gathered of the behind the scenes material posted here, collars would still exist. The "happy ending" would be limited to Nick being pardoned and having his park legalized.

Nope, Byron still knew it's a disney movie made for kids. Fully happy ending would've been the plan, including maybe stronger WildeHopps suggestion.

Act 1
Rose is in the threads. Pretty much just a fun time all around until some dude shows up and starts saying weird shit. Turns out its based on an old argument from Discord that she didn't want brought up. Rose gets tired of it and leaves. Shit stirrer celebrates by dumping his usual dump, even admits he did it just because he wanted to have some fun.

Act 2
80% odds same troll, 15% odds a different troll, 5% odds ignorant dumbfuck comes in and declares that multiple people drove Rose away. Everyone tells him to fuck off and that one person went after Rose and even admitted it.
Nobby, who was 48 hours without sleep, makes an offhand comment about how blaming every troll on one person is dumb. When people press him to explain he excuses himself as too tired to understand whats going on.

Act 3
One or two people who enjoy throwing out effortless bait still lurk the threads because they have nothing better to do. Every so often they say "Everyone hates ________ they're so dumb" and wait for one or two (You)s to appear.

No source, just simple logic following Byron's reactions and the staff's interviews.

The core of the whole problem was that Byron and Moore themselves did not realize what a dark thing collars were. They tought of them as metaphors for a form of opression not a torture device, so in their heads pred woud've been just happy and reliefed to have them gone instead of bloodthirsty for revenge.

They really believed that it would be a good setting to save a world like this, until it was pointed out for them that a world like this is beyond saving in a "holding hands and singing Kumbaya" way.
