Zootopia Thread Hotpocket EditionDiscuss the movie.
More like pootopia.
>>84230584Cloven bar seems like a comfy place to chill.Wish actually added it into the film tbqh.
>>84230608Probably too mature for a kid's movie.
>>84230622Well they could've been subtle, movie was rated PG anyway.
>>84230640Irrelevant to plot, they had screentime constraints
>>84230584Judy is a geek
You gotta have imagination, anon.>Weaselton tells Judy and Nick that he meets up with Dug in the Cloven bar>they go to the bar and find Dug>they stalk him throughout the day leading them into the lab in the subwayWould've been nice to see more of the world.
>>84230801Fuck, forgot to quote >>84230747
>>84230584I hope they announce a short soon. Hopefully before the janitor special rules made up about Zootopia threads.
>>84230821It's been only 4 months.do something else, man.
>>84230821>before the janitor special rules made up about Zootopia threads. What?
>>84230821Frozen Fever was anounced around 2 years after the film so I guess we're gonna be dry for the next two years or so.
WHY ARE THESE THREADS GETTING SLOWER AND SLOWER?
>>84231237Because of inconsistency from hotpockets deleting these threads.
>>84230608>>84230801>Nick goes to the jukebox and plays baaah'd to the bone for a laugh>hidden little easter egg implying Bellwether frequents the bar
j>>84231237Post new artwork, bring a subject.
>>84231454>Post new artwork,Drawfags were systematically driven out of /co/ though.
>>84231476But I'm still here though, senpai.
>>84231524>drawfags>pluralWe're allowed to have one
Didn't /frz/ get banned after a while? Is that what you people want?
>>84231524Your timezone doesn't do you any favours
>no mechanic in 3 (three) days nowDid he finally succumb?
>>84231542I don't think we hit /frz/ levels yet. Also, there's still people who just recently watched the film and talk about it here stirring up some discussion from different points of view like in the previous thread. Not gonna deny that its stay is overwelcomed here though but these threads are comfy.
>>84231562Nor does uni, I miss that otherwhaleoil drawfella as well.
>>84231672Shit, wrong gif.
>>84231608I see his images in /trash/ when I *rarely* go over there; maybe we lost another?
>>84231718Oh no, I only go to /trash/ literally just to complain about threads getting killed here as well though.
Expalin naturalist panther pun to me, please
>>84231745It's why we have the discord
>>84231252Your favorite movie a shit
>>84231536>you will never be this happyIt should be illegal for buns to be this happy.
>>84232096lol, good one, japan.
>>84232280Who said you can't be that happy?
>>84230584>Hotpocket EditionAre these threads starting to suffer from dead links aka deleted posts like the old /frz/ threads or something ? I miss /frz/ ....or at least the idea of /frz/. some of the anons who were in those threads were mean to me, and I hated that they made it feel like some information was off limits, and that you had to part of their secret in crowd to know about certain things that they would hint at within the threads.
>>84232326There's a few deleted posts here and there, but they're only obvious furry stuff. I've never had any problems here. Everybody just seems relaxed
>>84232301That bun should be punished for being too happy!
>>84232436What do you have against happy buns, anon?
>>84232450There is no place for a happy bun in this world.
I bought a Judy from the Disney Store for $15 plus tax, but I did't buy Nick because I didn't have enough money for both. Now most all the merch is gone from most, and my Judy is all by herself forever. I was hoping to find the fox in a clearance sale, but I've had no such luck.
>>84232518>he didn't buy the stuffed Finnick that comes with unique lines95% disappointment
>>84232491everytime i see this fucking thing i see a gun pointed to his head, a wasp about to sting him in the eye. all these fucking fangirls dont see it, shit's nit cute, shit's fucked up.i just... like, maybe even love, nick, and i hate that howard was so serious about it, he directed everything practically into a wall, just because of his precious pet character.i dont hate the city anymore, it doesnt exist, but person who came up with that idea deserves all my hate.
>>84232491>>84232503Now look at what you've done!
>>84232491I heard something about he was going to fight off other preds defending Judy. How would that have worked for them when all are wearing the collar?
>>84231536I feel so related to this, zootopia train entrance was easily one of my favorite part of the movie. Every time I go to a new city in another part of the world I have that stupid grin on my face and everything seems magical.Travelling is a bliss
>>84232767he'd try to fight while being constantly shocked, till he pass up.you know to make him more "badass" or something.
>>84232767There was storyboard art of this floating around somewhere, just too lazy to look for it.It could've played off with Nick getting zapped constantly but still dares himself to fight despite the pain. Sounds like another heart-wrenching scene in protozoo.
>>84232873i'm pretty sure these 5 y/o would love to see that.
>>84232807Fighting despite being in agonizing pain to protect someone you care for is pretty badass, desu. >tryOh. That's just tragic then. Which ok, so the collars trigger on heartrate, so wouldn't that mean once activated it won't stop until the wearer's heart "calms down" aka "drops dead"?
>>84232910Go away, Bryon.
>>84232518wait for holiday season, zootopia will return.>>84232911yeah pretty much, unless they pull some asspull.
>>84232923i was being sarcastic.
The thread seems pretty lively today. Whats up, /co/?
>>84232995we have like 6 years to forget about this.
Ok /co/ I have a question. Have you seen the movie enough times to remember the plate number? Is your memory as good as this guy?
>>84233137not muh finnick, but whatever..
>>84233134That's not Nangi.
>>84232995He looks savage. :^)Brings to mind the fight in The Fox and the Hound. Shit would've been brutal. Like damn, I know it's not popular "happy with what we got" etc, but I really would've loved to see this scene. No witty one liner, no "Nick don't!" maybe just Nick realizing what has to be done, loosening his tie then going Wilde
>>84233166dump over.>>84233179>nangi means naked woman in hindumoore, you sneaky bastard.
>>84233195that nick was a cynical dick (justified), sudden change of heart wouldnt fit him at all.
>>84233226We can't really tell for sure since his relationship with Judy in protozoo is too vague but I'm willing to bet that the character build-up was there.
>>84233166Much like the scene where Judy learns it, you've omitted the D.
>>84233226There's cynical and there's watching someone get murdered. Besides Nick's got a heart of gold.
>>84233286of course of couse, world shits on you and you're a walking saint.this doesnt work like that, byron.
>>84233029When did you become so resentful, fox?
zootopia/zootropolis/zoomania/zwierzogrodshit's confusing when i want to find new merch>>84233503>>>/trash/3862152
Okay, I only just watched the movie for the first time Friday, I have some questions. The biggest of which, so did like, no one care about what a terrible cop Judy was?>making a deal with a professional con artist to let him off for felony tax evasion with 0 permission to do so>all kinds of trespassing and doing shit without a warrant, none of this evidence would be admissible in court>she's been on the force for 2 days and already is chummy and working with the fucking mafia, and none of this "oh the mafia is the good guys" shit, he was literally about to murder her, a fucking cop, because she was witness to another attempted murder of his, but then he starts helping him out and she immediately turns the other cheek>not only that, uses her new mob connections to interrogate someone by literally having the mob threaten to fucking execute them>nearly murders three sheep suspects, causes a massive explosion in the subway system, all after having quit and having no authority as an officer of the law
@84233503>this is rejects from /trash/ do in their spare timeDid nobody there give you any (You)s, anon?
>>84233530I swear that bun pose on the right is used in everything.
>>84233540it's a cartoon, bruh.
>>84233540She was desperate and took matters into her own hands since nobody else in the force would've helped her out.
>>84233560>>84233553sorry, didn't realise it was against the rulespost deleted, don't worry. will post on a more appropriate forumI apologise.
>>84233634It's no problem, anon. I hope somebody on /trash/ fulfils your incredibly weird request.
>>84233572stock images, they always do this shit.
>>84233689Somebody post the one where Judy's holding a bepis.
>>84233689She does look exceedingly cute in it tbf
>Finding Dory already beat this on domestic and made more than half of million dollars in just three weeks
>>84233731>summer movie making money on summerdont worry about foreign gross, it's a loser.
>>84231237The janitor keeps disrupting our threads by deleting then for no reason other than because they are tired of monitoring them.
>>84233731It doesn't really matter, anon. Zootopia's hit a worthy billion and that's already something which makes it stands out. Either way, I loved both films and I can see the appeal for Finding Dory but you should really just love a film for what it is.
>>84233689wait, what did i just post>tin canalways wanted zootin can!>clawsome activities>critter coloring>hopping activitiesso punny, just like the movie!
>>84233731I think a lot of people resigned themselves to the fact that Finding Dory would beat Zootopia. It's just how the world works, Disney didn't think Zootopia would be as popular as it was and the movie didn't get the marketing it deserved. Now we as fans must suffer as we wonder if the wildly successful movie we enjoyed will get a sequel simply because Disney didn't care enough about the movie from the start.
>>84233910It hit a billion, Wreck-It-Ralph even only just made 400mil but it's still getting a sequel. It would be dumb for Disney to not make a sequel.
>>84233910>wildly successful>not wilde-lyYou fucked it up.
>>84233910>>84233945it's a self cointained movie, there shouldnt be a sequel. i'd love to see the city again, but you need another miracle to pull it off.as for the toys, well, holliday season is when companies make biggest bank, toys will come.
>>84233731Finding dory is a sequel
>>84233981Sadly I cannot
>>84233945I agree it should get a sequel or some continuation, but it will be years from now. I bet a lot of the fandom it has now will die out over that time.>>84233961I'm a shit memer>>84233990I think if a movie makes a billion dollars, you can probably find some way to continue it. Its just a matter of if Disney wants to.
>>84234045"Incredibles" dillema.right subject, right time.
>>84233990Bryon and Rich are pretty enthustiastic for a sequel though.I'm pretty sure it'll work out since the world's got its potential and it could even be told from a different narrative or so.It would be a real shame throwing the world of Zootopia into the bin leaving it to rot.
>>84234101>a different narrative or so.oh please, please.
>>84230584Someone shop the bun microwaving hotpockets.
>>84234129I have my doubts on that though, part of the reason why the film's beloved in the first place is how charming Judy and Nick were and having the right chemistry together.
wanna wait a minute>cary grant>noir movie>treating stuff objectivelyyeah , he tried to copy hitchcock.damn, what an ego
>>84234213as much i like nick, i dont want "fanservice - the movie" , yeah it's a possiblity.
oh, guess what, a compilation of deleted footage from willfanofmany.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82i-0dlgyJghmm.. only like 30 seconds are interesting or "new".
>>84232378> Everybody just seems relaxedI 2nd that.
...is it safe? Are the hotpockets finally done deleting the fucking threads?
wasn't there a pic of the Fight Club ending but with Nick and Judy?Would someone be so kind and post it?
>>84234665We """"only"""" had one thread deleted this week tbf
>>84234665it's slow, but chilli now.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMkeqjacvAUit all makes sense so much fucking sense, you're such a hack, howard
>>84234845Not true. Last night (this morning) it was absolutely impossible to get a thread going. For a few hours, every single thread that was made was deleted on sight.
>>84234867Oh, I was asleep. There seems to be one janitor on here that does that every now and then. Usually happens in the morning (I'm in the UK too).
Just gonna leave this thing herehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82i-0dlgyJg
>>84233731It was always going to beat it in domestic, internationally it probably won't make as much as Zootopia. I'm guessing 900-950 million worldwide.Summer movies also tend to blow their entire load in the first 3-4 weeks or so, since everyone goes to see it at once.
should they change Nick's uniform in the sequel,or keep the one he have on at the end?

>>84237347Watched the Zootropolis version in the cinema and it's fucking awful, I agree. Wouldn't go anywhere near the UK Blu-ray because of it.
>>84237413it's actually significantly different? I thought the regional differences were just the title, and some newscaster animals got swapped out, or something.
>>84237413>>84237413>>84237466stupid dutch zoo, one word and whole context of the movie is slightly different.they didnt even bother to lipsynch.

>>84240450No, he eventually became Nick
>>84240499Any more info?
>>84233540BUT DAMMIT SHE GETS RESULTS!
>>84240551Not really, other than he very quickly became Nick Wilde, a fox secret agent.
>>84240551one of the very first concepts revolved around Jack Savage the bunny, adventuring, braving dangers and exploring a dangerous and vibrant world populated by talking animals. The movie would be called Savage Seas. Then directors became captivated with the idea of the world and decided to focus on building animal city instead, spawning zootopia 1.0 (aka zistopia), which is where entire collar concept came from. Nick Wilde was supposed to be the protagonist. This concept was ditched some 18 months before release and the film became Zootopia as we know it starring Judy Hopps as the main character and referred to as Zootopia 2.0 to distinguish it from the original script.
>>84240551watch the documentary, also there was a good video on vimeo, but i don´t have the link to thatfurthermore you can find more information in the book " the Art of Zootopia"
Long Time ago, before the birth of our beloved Cop duo, there has been a Story about a Bunny-Bond called Jack Savage. His adventures were called "Savage seas". But even before them there were six original ideas> Mice musketeers> A mad doctor cat > A pug bountyhunter in space
Not enough good shots of Nick's paws.
>>84241280Because we have the bun paws instead
>>84241339The paws are not the focus of that shot.

Haven't edited Bezier curves or anything like that yet so speed and stuff is a bit off, but how are the expressions? Trying to copy an old Judy thing I found as I way to learn facial things.Oh, and the ears look too forced, right?
>>84242448It's ok, I needs some inbetweens to smooth everything up and make it more organic. About the ears, notice that Judy's ears don't normally look both forward so much, they face a lot to the side, sot as much as human ears though. Also in movie judy's ears are slightly bent most of the time.
I want Hopps to bully me sexually.
>>84243479Those bun genes would demand her to
>>84243502That's sweet and kind hearted Judy, anon. I'm talking heart of stone and no nonsense, Hopps.

The magic is gone. When you realize how this movie was done, it was simply jaded adults trying to copy one of the greatest directors of all times, movie with forced conflict that made little sense, but it HAD to have it to have a subject. It's like realizing that delicious hamburger was made from a cow that was standing next to you moment before.Return to that world is nearly impossible, even if, it will be poor imitation of what it was before.>moneyThat would make it even worse, the reasoning why would they continue it.Thanks Moore, you did your best, but this is over for Zootopia.
Some Know Me,....Some Don't.But there will be an Outline of the Original Script coming soon.....from Someone that knows it best ;)

>Outline of the Original Script coming soon..But Nick getting Mauled is too Dark for me.
>But Nick getting Mauled is too Dark for me...You Fucktard.
First half of the film was great. Second half became somewhat absurd/nonsensical and moved way too fast. Too many heavy handed messages and the pacing was way off.>immediately go home>immediately find what's causing savage randomly>right back in city>train going through town>cliche bad guyJust ended up being average in the second half of the movie.
>>84243479do not lewd the Jude anon

>>84249523Hype comes from superb quality - we all need to start somewhere and when he expands into OC, we will get high quality fanart. That simple.
>>84249891>Hey Clawz old buddy... howya doin? Are you cool? Look, I sparked one up during break. Could ya set me up will a bowl of that? I've reeeeally got the munchies... and weeell I could really dig some right now.

Morning, thread It's 12 and I'm too late to do anything that I wanted to do today
>>84249187no, i was just a bit confused. I'm already balls deep on the protopia stuff but when anon put it like that I thought there was actually some kind of saw-esque trap involved at some point.

>>84250953I desire to floop that bloop
>>84250840Oh man, this is the guy who drew Say Judy. What a fucking waste of talent, he only pumps out furry bondage porn nowadays for trash.Producing something worthwhile takes thought and skill, but unlike porn doesn't give people (you)s. Trash will never want anything nice because all they want is to fap, which makes me sad most drawfags were exiled. Thanks, jannies, we could have had a flourishing artistic sfw community here.
>>84250953>'I want to feed that bunny'.Eh? Well if you want to, go ahead.

>that early storyboard scene where a rhinoceros security guard takes away Nick from the bank right in front of his dadMan, they really did wanted Nick to be as miserable as possible even when they already took away the collars telling the story in Nick's point of view.I wonder what went through their heads when they thought of people wanting to sympathize Nick by antagonizing the city.
>>84250986Really? Holy fuck that's more depressing than the comic. What a twat
>>84251114Say Judy. Not in my PC so can't post it, although that's not necessarily a bad thing...

>>84251665>the sequelI've been told that Zootopia was rendered in 2K too, so your info is probably correct
>>84231237The film came out how many months ago? We've screen capped every scene, made webm's of every motion, analyzed every line of dialogue, and bought the Blu-ray.We're happy with the complete project that is. It's like Coralline, we don't need to discuss greatness with a general anymore.

>>84254798bear's body language should give you a hint.
>>84254517The movie wasn't a miracle, it was just made how a story should get made. They had a terrible idea they loved. People told them it was terrible and they changed the story. As long as there is oversight from Pixar, then the movie will be good. The sequel doesn't have to be about prejudice. It could just be a cop drama where Nick and Judy chase down a bad guy and have a lot of one liners
>>84254866> It could just be a cop drama where Nick and Judy chase down a bad guy and have a lot of one linersand this is what i call watering it down.
>>84254866>The movie wasn't a miracle,but it was
>>84254866>It could just be a cop dramaNow that just seems to be the formula for sequelitis. If they're gonna be making another animal world movie and not just humans in animal costumes, might as well tackle another subject matter that integrates in with the world or recycle elements from the first film.I'm guessing Disney's gonna go for the latter since they put a lot of effort into making the world and making it blend with the story reflecting on modern society as a true fable.
>>84240292It is an N you scrub.

im not a furby but this movie was nice
>>84264721It's le epik /b/ raid probably. I would just hide and ignore it.
In the interest of posting literally any new content, improvement over >>84242448 y/n?I still haven't done inbetween stuff on the face, but I mean just general motion of the lower half, head and neck. Did I spend 6+ hours on this today for nothing?
>>84264931It shows a lot of improvement, you are going in the right direction.
>>84265153Goooood. Maybe if I mess around with the facial stuff enough I'll converge to the correct result.
>>84264931the jerking of the head is more lively, the saccade over the last few frames is a nice touch. the mouth is a little awkward. Perhaps it would look better in context but I think if she were standing still I think her mouth would be more closed as in a frown
>>84264931with the way she's pulling back, I would assume some rotation of the shoulders
>>84265234>>84265254>mfw collecting all this feedbackThanks lads
>>84265280yeah, man. I want to see the final product. plus you will do increasingly better with constant feedback
>>84265329>people are using the model to do thisThis is why I can't let anybody see me doing this
>>84265181Yep, one thing you can use to add more motion to the expression is squatch and stretch. Also anticipation. Closing the eyes and lowering the eyebrows before the surprised expression can increase the impact of the animation. This also applies for the mouth, closing it shut before opening it.If you don't know about squatch and stretch, is part of the principles of animation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haa7n3UGyDc&list=PL-bOh8btec4CXd2ya1NmSKpi92U_l6ZJdReal neat stuff, highly recommendable.
>>84265477Closing them fully? I did watch those and have attempted it here (this is the 'closest' it gets) but you think that I should go further? Was a bit cautious as to how much I do it by.
>>84265582The memories will last a lifetime
>>84265521If you are not sure, save a different file and experiment with it real quick. Save the animation in opengl if you don't want to render all those frames for such a long time. You need to get to know how much expression exageration feels right, it is something that depends on tastes in a certain way. Imho, cartoony stuff like Judy benefit a lot of pushing expressions, but thats just my point of view.
>>84265648i saw this in the art pack.
>>84265648you bring nothing new to the table.
>>84265755I've been using the OpenGL thing rather often, but I prefer to render it properly half the time just as an excuse to have a break.I'm starting to hear the dawn chorus, so this'll have to wait until later. Hopefully I'll have something new to post this time tomorrow.
>>84265842Fair enough. Hit the hay man, you will work better well rested.
