Rides over guys, hope you enjoyed the discussion, cute OC, the great movie and the /co/ threads because the best times are behind us.Here's hoping the special features on the Blue Ray release spur up GOOD discussion instead of popular drawfag circle jerks. Will you be getting the Disney store release with the lithograph or the Target release with who the fuck knows 15 minutes of bonus content? You're more than welcome to discuss improving your art of course.
>>82490627>Drawfags were pushed out of /co/ by hotpockets>We are split in half of /co/ being discussion based and /trash/ being art based>/co/ side slowly going extinct>we will all go to trash>we will all have to breathe the same air as the people who spam a fuckton of red rocket and bunny asshole porn>We've been rubbed out by a couple of hotpockets
>>82490627The original storyboards will NOT be included.
>>82490627Blu-ray, not "Blue".
>>82490627I have been wondering how they are going to innocently play out that added scene in which Judy's family visits her apartments and Nick happens to be in there with her. There will be implications.>we will all go to trash/trash/ is shit. Out of character comics and gratuitous nasty porn.I would rather visit Tumblr for stuff like Zistopia.
>>82490886And part two of this comic.
Does Kung Fu Panda take place on the same planet as Zootopia?
>>82490908The very popular and much liked Cartoonbrew.

>>82490907Unless the cold blooded races died off or got segregated to all hell, it's not likely.
>>82490800I'm still drawing and sharing here, mostly once a day and trying to get better. I'll start that comic eventually.
Posting this again... before I head to the trashcan. I'll miss /co/. Fucking hotpockets.
>>82490986What do you mean?
>>82490907I'd like to think so, assuming medieval China had more integration between mammals, reptiles and birds than Zootopia.I also have a pet theory that Zootopia, Robin Hood and The Lion King all take place in the same universe, with Zootopia being present day, Robin Hood taking place in the middle ages, and TLK being in the distant past when animals were just beginning to communicate with one another and form coherent societies.
>>82491017I like it. What inspired it?
>>82491023>insects are sentient>bugs are food in zootopiaunless we hunt them down and kill them while they are sentient and aware of pain, it's highly not likely
>>82490986Didn't one of the creators say that reptiles and birds exist on different continents?
>>82491058I kind of doubt the last one since in the art it showed that in the past tribes were bipedal and more human based than animal hierarchy based like LK
>>82491095They didn't confirm or deny the possibility. But really there are so many mammals that never get any attention that it isn't necessary to get birds or reptiles involved.
>>82491087Only a mantis is sentient and that's because he has Kung fu powers
>>82491064I just came up with it doodling one night. The smile, though, I maybe stole from lord byron.
>>82490959I want more Finnick on bluerayMaybe even deleted dancing scene with him
>>82491172>it isn't necessary to get birds or reptiles involvedI'm glad you aren't working at Disney
>>82491287Nah he's right. There already too many species, its more interesting when you know the bounds for the world, stopping short of the line of pure Shrek level madcap fantasy is more fun.
>>82490800I'd rather these threads just kept going unless people genuinely don't want to talk about this movie anymore at all. I always enjoy reading through what people have to say and hearing people's thoughts about Nick/Judy. As far as I'm concerned, /trash/ doesn't exist because I don't care to be forced to look at Zootopia porn just to get some decent conversation about the film, I will never go there. It's a shame people left, but whatever..I'll still keep visiting these threads daily, it's nice to talk with fans of something I enjoy.
HEY I WANT TO DRAW ZOOTOPIA ARTS TOO
>>82491547Do it anon and tell us about it.
Earlier today I saw a kid burst out crying after Nick got darted, had to be led out of the theater and missed the entire ending. Now he'll go on thinking that's how it ends.
>>82491543The threads aren't that bad anymore. My biggest gripe is how everything gets deleted over there.Anyway, let's talk about best ship.
>>82491630well i actually just did, my original posting
>>82491543Its theatrical run is less than two weeks old in Japan, we haven't even scratched the surface of quality Engrish work.
>>82491547That is a cute bun with a rifle
>>82491644>best shipSure thing. This totally should have happened. I want to cry everytim
>>82491660Looks pretty cool, there needs to be more armored Judy pics.
>>82491633a woman brought her 2 fuckiing year old to a movie theater, a place of loud noises, bright lights, lots of people, and it doesn't have the mental capacity to know what the fuck is going on that loud ass tiger jumpscare made the infant cry for a long ass time before she took her out of the theater this is like taking a fucking baby to a rollercoaster and wondering why it's head is in the shape of a fucking pill
>>82491633Holy fuck is this really how parents really raise their fucking kids nowadays? Are these kids ever going to be able to walk on their own out in the big bad world they've been sheltered from their entire lives?I spent my four years in college perpetually shocked that most of my classmates could even take a shit without somebody holding their hand. I can't imagine any of them being able to hold a job nowadays. Jesus christ what is the world becoming
>>82491755Yeah, but this kid looked more like 9-10.
>>82490627That is the laziest cover... sheesh... like could they do more than just a layered phototshop drag-and-drop of the stock art of the characters?
>>82491735I'm glad it didn't.
>>82491798The Target covers are variants.
>>82491766George was telling us about this shit since the very beginning, and as you can see the virus has fucking spreaded, every school in america is now based off for regurgitating information and passing it off as intelligence and protecting feelings
>>82491633Everyone loved it from what I saw. Even when there was the tiger jump scare, there was a scream in the audience from a small child followed by laughter. She was able to laugh it off with the others.
>>82491798Welcome to all animated feature film boxart for the last... 10? 15 years at least?Very little effort seems to go into box art / theatrical posters anymore. I wish we got more stuff like pic related. With a bit more heart and a bit less marketing.
>>82491633>kids 8 to 10 years old crying or getting scared by animals>retarded white Christian children wondering if people can go savage >"evil references">All the kids leaving before seeing a conclusion so they're forced to imagine Bad End>"so much hurting each other">"someone gets bullied without helping"I wonder what kind of people these are, /co/
>>82491856That looks great, but too bad that's just a movie poster. Disney used to have awesome posters, but they never made them the cover.
>>82491633Fuck me, I thought I was sheltered...
>>82491805Great. all the Judy x Nick shippers left to /trash/ and I'm the only faget left here.Welp, time to die I guess.
>>82491865I met somebody who won't let their kids see it because of the reviews [spoilers]they are sheltered as fuck from their feelings getting hurt or scared, hell she even won't let them watch fucking spongebob because she heard it was inappropriate or some other soccer mom bullshit like that[/spoilers]
>>82492011>forgot the spoilers tag doesn't have an S
>>82491735Hopefully, if there is a sequel, they'll allow their relationship to build upon something like this, unlike just throwing it all in at the last second.
>>82492063Honestly, I prefer if it was kept ambiguous. Then again, I also want them to not be the protagonists, but rather major side characters.
>>82491984You were dead this whole time, but you didn't realize it. Now that you know the truth, you can go find peace. Or haunt this place, whatever.
>>82492063The sequel will have MORE jump scares, with multiple bunnies leaping up at the screen.
>>82492011For the longest time when I was a kid, my parents genuinely believed Spongebob was as offensive as Family Guy or South Park. But then we actually WATCHED the show. Now we're a fucking Squarepants family.
>>82492011The new episodes can definitely be kinda gross desu, at this point spongebob is a zombie corpse that's dragged itself on for so long it consists only of arms and half its head
I can't wait until you guys die
>>82492063There was a 9 month gap of time that we saw nothing of, it could have easily led to this point by the end of the film, though. I know people's thoughts on it is that it would it have felt rushed (and believe me, I agree) if they had just suddenly gotten together after bellweather's arrest. I WAS onboard with this line of thinking and totally agreed until Rich tweeted that 9 months had passed in between the concert at the end of the film and bellweather being arrested. Nick was at the police academy training for X amount of months, sure, but it's not like it was a jail cell, either. Him and Judy would have had time to get to know each other outside of just a case related bonding before we see the next scene in the movie which is after the 9 months and him graduating to be partners with Judy.I don't think I've ever once dated someone that had over a 9 month "build up" period of getting to know each other before we became official, that's not how it works in reality besides very specific or friend zoned / rebound cases, which are not very healthy foundations to begin with. Then again I haven't dated all that much, but most people (read: all) I've ever met that became a couple it happend a few months into knowing each other (some of these wound up married about a year or so later, too), not waiting for years and years or anything as just friends to try and see if anything is there.
Huh. That dance video with the Tanuki newscaster actor seems to have inspired people.http://nicovideo.jp/watch/sm28779925
Who is Hotpockets?
This SECOND highest grossing Disney movie, lion king don't count because it was rereleased lik three times.A movie with no support, good music or memorable song, how did that happen?! What was the magic ingredient?!
>>82492585Also basically all Disney movies released before the 80s got multiple theatrical rereleases because no VCRs yet.
>>82491633Heartwarming...yeah right. My daughter who is 10 freaked out when she saw Nick get hit by a night howler and go savage - especially since that happened to one of our foxes a few years ago.THEN the fox is smug and there's some sort of time limit before something bad happens???Now she's freaking out again afraid she'll have nightmares.I didn't read very far into the plot synopsis so I didn't realize the fox got darted...Had I known that I would have never seen it.PG doesn't necessarily mean "good sense" or actually appropriate for sensitive kids!!!
>>82492585Because talking animal movies, even bad ones, are popular. We just had not seen one this good in years.
>>82491633And we got the nicer movie, go figure.
Someone said something in the /zoo/ last night that made me think of this, so I made it.
>>82492783You wound me anon.
>>82490627There is a mandatory Zootopia short incoming plus BD extra content and then Zootopia 2.

>>82493170Not just Amazon, it's like that everywhere.
>>8249319127x40", though? I went to local store and found a bunch of cheap frames, but nothing that big.

>>82493225I love you too, anon.
>>82493243That sounds like what the special edition from the Disney store has, wtf?
>>82493243I hate exclusive stuff. Not because I can't order it from them (idk, I'll have to hear if its worth it) but because I doubt anyone will dump that disc online to add to my raw blu-rays harddrive
>>82493243order thru the target online store familia, you'll get it possibly before day one
>>82493263Idk what to preorder from now. Disney store version comes with 4 lithographs, target has this thing and supposedly a poster? And... Amazon has nothing.
>>82493291Same here. The online Disney store says 30 mins of additional content, so I'm sort of confused.
Guys, if i ordered artbook for 24$ few months ago and price got increased to 36$, how much amazon will charge from me when they ship it?
>>82493334I'm in the same boat, they told me it will still be $24.
>>8249333424 if they ever ship for you.

Combine Zootopia with tapioca. Zootapioca. That could be the name of Zootopia themed tapioca pudding.
>>82491543/trash/ is pretty much what this thread will happen a couple month down the road. An occasion thread with some break in between like that Bojack thread is fine by me. No need to force it.
>>82493442does that mean the pudding is made out of zoos?
>>82493410I don't mind. The popular ones usually turn the thread into about them instead of the content they were drawing in the first place and I seen this happen way too often.
>>82493347>>82493349Thank you guys. Have a Judy.

>>82493549Cool, I know what I'm doing tonight.
Any news from the writtefags ?
>>82493398That legitimately upsets me. All that bonus content and you have to go on a fucking scavenger hunt if you want all of them
>>82490886You'll have to forgive me, I only saw this movie recently and I'm a big fan but I've had little to zero conversation about it. What implications is this scene supposed to provide?
>>82493539You are the only person here that consistently triggers me
>>82493676Judy liked part of the pred/prey thing that happened, the whole neck biting thing.
>>82493701Oh dear. Thanks anon.
>>82493670Plus, some of it sounds like stuff we saw before. The mention of the Taming Party sounds like the shock collar scene from the documentary.
>>82493713Well, it's only fan stuff anyway, lol.
>>82493721We didn't see the full thing, this will probably have placeholder actors and be longer. it will be interesting to see how much will be storyboards and how much will be animatics
>>82493448What? you mean these threads will turn into just porn and only talking about drawfags instead of the movie? Both of those get deleted by mods so I don't think so. I'm glad trash exists just to filter that kind of stuff over there for those that want it. If you like porn of Zootopia, fine. If you like to talk about <artist name>, fine. That's what those trash threads are for, but I just want to enjoy the movie itself with other fans, that's what these threads are for and I hope they'll keep going. I like this fuckin movie, man, I can't help it.
>>82493760I'm having difficulty finding context for that face other than Nick pounding Judy.
>>82493765Good point. Man, I'd love more animatics.
>>82493776They said they had 30+ minutes of animatics they demo'd to Pixar right before they dumped proto-zootopia, I wish the Mouse House would just dump that on a Blu-ray. I'd buy it
>>82493772Great taste my man, great taste.
So did nothing ever come of this tweet? we know the exclusives now..Was he talking about the "suprise visit" deleted scene you think? that's the only one that might be kind of like that
>>82493772I just want the SFW arts from overseas drawn by artists who don't know enough English to bother coming here.

>>82493817ive read somewhere that judy introduced nick to his parents over some kind of occasion like a dinner or somethingbut not as a boyfriend
>>82493817It really sounds like that's what the scene with Judy's family visiting her apartment will be.
>>82493839They need something for the 2026 10 year anniversary mega deluxe version
>>82493796more then that, it was pretty much the whole movie... we went through several versions even before that back when Nick was the main character and Mr big was the big polar bear. Its the heads fault, they should have showed it to the brain trust group way sooner. Dont know if they will show them in the dvd since it was canned for darker tones, apparently some you can see on a "making of" thing online, have not watched that yet though.
>>82493863What sucks, is that you're likely right.
>>82493866It's Imagining Zootopia, definitely work a watch.
>>82493842this is not true, sorry.
>>82493866>brain trust groupI don't think 2010's Pixar is the god tier team they used to be. I think they helped more because they were outsiders who could see a bad story, which likely anyone could have told them. They just needed someone to show it to.>The idea of 'anyone' made me think of what a Chris Sanders lead protoZootopia might have been like. Man he might have made it work
>>82493899well duhbecause the scene was cuti might be misremembering it but im sure it was scene about judy introducing nick to her parents
>>82493928You're an idiot.

>>82493924 Disney does the same thing with pixar movies, they try to quality control that way but Pixar tends to not gut stuff as easy as Disney because we are able to work under tight deadlines sadly, while Pixar has a much harder time. The timing for this review was just stupid for zoot, because it was months before the movie deadline and had been through several story changes so it was at a good place to start and the whole crew including myself loved it, the new movie is ok though. Hope the dvds will have some of the trashed stuff, but it was a totally different movie early last year so it may not be interesting in small clips.

Alright guys, let's figure this out. What can realistically be done in order to rejuvenate these threads? Can we identify the issues? If so, what can be done to fix them? How can we carry out these fixes in a feasible manner?I hear something about mods Shoahing artists. I for one don't understand why, but I do understand how this is damaging the livelihood of these threads. Can we think of any ideas to fix this issue? A compromise of some sort? An alternative?I really enjoy these threads, as no doubt many of you do to, and it pains me to see them weaken everyday. But if Zootopia taught me one thing, it's that we can't expect everything to bend to our will, but we can still better ourselves. I call out to all of you, for some hope of an answer. I hope we can think of something, and I'm confident that if each and every single one of you in this thread help, we can finally make Zootopia threads great again!

>>82491633This is some Rod and Todd Flanders crap. I can see how parts of the movie could scare little kids, but these helicopter moms are vastly overestimating the impact it will have on their kids in the long run. I was scared shitless by The Brave Little Toaster, Indiana Jones and pretty much every Don Bluth movie as a kid, but you know what happened? I grew from those experiences and learned to appreciate stories differently. Kids can have nightmares about things and not suffer a complete breakdown. I fear for those kids who were so sheltered that they had to ask mommy what bullying was after the movie.

I have some problems with this movie. I grew up in a medium sized sattelite city, work in a factory and never worked a day in any form of farms. So I may not be qualified to comment on what farming is. But I find it disturbing that the message of the movie is that you have to go to a big city to pursue your dream, to overcome your prejudice and to change people's mind or to save the world. Judy's parents almost stand for everything Judy is fighting against. The knowledge of the night howler plant is almost not enough to "redeem" them
>>82498627Who is he? Can you post a link to his previous art?

>>82500399I thought I saw camo shorts on a character somewhere. It stood out for being the most original fashion choice for a background character. But just because you don't see or hear anything about it doesn't mean there's no war.
>>82500399If there were wars it would be crazy. Could you imagine the kind of weaponry they could come up with? An elephant could easily shoulder a 20mm cannon and handle the recoil like it's nothing.
Alright. Gonna play Battleborn for half an hour, then load up Fantasia and fucking focus on this drawing session I've been procrastinating on. I've got a day off from work finally, so i owe myself that much to make use of my time right?
What does this drawing mean? Why would Finnick draw it on his van?Does he identify with a Robinhood like character who steals treasures and saves the girl?
>>82500535>Why would Finnick draw it on his van?He likes metal or fantasy art a'la Frazetta.
>>82500253They think he's okay. Not too popular over there.
>>82500535https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Popocat%C3%A9petl_and_Iztacc%C3%ADhuatlit's a reference to aztec legend.yes, there were Aztecs in zootopia!
>>82500452In the museum scene we see a model of rabbits holding up spears against a tiger. The creators have already put there wars between predators and preysThe only question remains is how old the peace treaty was. Was it before written history? Did they develop the gun technology before or after the peace treaty?
>>82500667I don't think they have that part of the setting worked out.
>>82500574That's like insane. How is it going to work?
>>82500515Glad you got motivated. There was a time I was NEET and a time I was wage slave but the most horrible was a time when I don't know what to do when I got off feom the work
>>82497511>there are people who look like that, dress like that and speak like that walking around>don't see anything wrong with themselves>probably wonder why they can't find a woman
>>82500504The really crazy thing is to fight against mouses. They are small and numerous. They can survive nuclear bombing. I don't think humans can fight sentient mouses by year 2200
>>82500858>there will be killer robots the size of ants in the near futureI wouldn't be worried about mice, bro.
>>82500504Imagine when they used those climate making machines as weapons.
>>82500751That really is a terrible feeling that i get often, because i go to my work shifts the next day and feel like i wasted my got damn time and feel like shit.
>>82500900But they are sentient mice who built small cities.
>>82500937Yeah for that we have to make choices. And sleep regularly. If I insist on continuing a thread too hard and pass my bedtime it would interrupts my Sunday plan.
>>82500018very nice indeed
>>82501012I've been sleeping at 4 am lately... it isnt helping at all.
>>82499940>not even using a spoilerI hope you use your 3 days to think about your priorities
>>82501209I feel you. Lately I've been trying to get my sleep schedule back to a normal pattern, but it's more difficult than it seems.
So new thread soon or what? I made this one last night after like an hour of no threads.
>>82498969What if the finally stopped beating around the bush, and finally reveal that Nick Wilde is straightwould that change your opinion about him?
What is the species preferred for astronaut job?Are they the same as the military and police species? Big heavy and strong?>design a spaceship for two elephants pilotsIn the end they will have to admit that mice are the species for every job and everything else is just affirmative action
>>82501384>What is the species preferred for astronaut job?Anyone who wants to become one. I mean, seriously, they're so technologically advanced everything works.
>>82501407i wonder what powers these giant air conditioners.
>>82500376I'd let Judy fart on me. Yeah.
>>82501407Well I mean the "pre-Judy Hopps era preference".
>>82501435it really boils down to who is used to do that sort of stuff, it's all about mentality. We have too little information to speculate - for all we know, Disney could have included mice, horses, pandas and an awkward giraffe who can't fit anywhere for comedic effect.
Did anyone make a gif of Judy doing that "I'll just...go over here." motion, after Nick tells Bogo off and they leave to get on the lift?
>>82501424I have really no idea. It's beyond me.
uh-oh.Byron is shilling for Moana on his twitter.
>>82501550People got to make money. It's up to the fans to decide which movie to commit.
>>82499270Hasn't Byron or someone confirmed that birds live on other continents or cities?
They probably don't have farm animals. Do they have pets? But what are their idea of nature, jungle, savanna, rain forest and wild lives?
>>82501550Just acting nice to his coworkers while the boss is watching.Moana looks like shit in comparison to Zootopia, and Zootopia was made by a smaller team with a smaller budget and was completely rewritten 18 months before the release date.
>>82491856Holy crap, that's nice.
>>82501735it's just new princess with lots of water instead of lots of snow.Frozen was rewritten too, instead of Snow Queen adaptation we got.. uh... >18monthseh, not bad, how much time they spent on previous concept?
screaming finnick for image limit
>>82502319Why he wasnt at the dance party?
>>82502367Because has better taste in music than this
>>82502470was his short screen time some kind of a meta joke?
Did anyone else think Zootopia was going to be another madagascar esque movie to sell a fuckton of toys or some shit and made by some tiny company when they saw the trailer?
I am concerned that the current twitter campaign by /b/ tards is going to bring some negative attention to Zootopia fandom
>>82502662Thats like saying the Dub the Dew contest was going to put history buffs in a bad light
>>82502657i dont quite understand this question, ask again preferably in next thread
