Alright, /co/. Disney decides to build another franchise gives you direction over a Zootopia graphic novel. Its contents will be considered canon for the rest of the Zootopia universe. Art direction is up to you, as is the plot. What will you unleash?
>>82363549Oh you know.What else would I do?
>>82363131>have kids to affirm diversityfirst off based byron confirmed bo boxes or funniessecond you could also have an "adopting is real too" which would also apply to lgbt stuffthird nick and judy are great people why would you curse them with children

>>82363660I suppose with enough genetic engineering, anything is possible. Zootopia has an amazing infrastructure but I doubt it's that much more advanced than our world.
>>82363589>>82363660you can stop reply to yourself
>>82363660>the film is rooted in science>a movie about talking animals all living among each other in relative peace
>>82363660Never doubt the lengths Disney will go to to sell a product. They could tell Bryon to make the most adorable mix-breed so they could make her the main star of the sequel and sell toys based off it like hotcakes.

best fanfic around? Suggestions?
>>82364094indeed. If there's money on the table you better believe disney will take it lol
>>82364423Closeup of the shirt
I just saw it.It was pretty fun, but how does the economy work, guys? Given the prices at the elephant ice cream place, can I assume that larger animals are paid more and smaller ones are paid less because of the respective amount of work they do? Are large unskilled laborers still paid more than skilled small workers because the lives of small mammals cost less? If there are self-sustaining communities for rodents, does that mean nobody cares? Is Lemming Brothers comparatively not actually worth that much?Given the investment bankers and scammers, this clearly isn't a world in which there's a basic income...Also I could totally go into business in racism there. Nobody has companies that sell nigger repellant here.
So how many distinct versions of the Blu-ray/dvd release are coming out?Amazon/Disney with the lithographs, and Target with the extra scenes/commentary, right?
>>82364519a mouse laborer would probably get paid a fraction of, say, an elephant laborer, but the mouse would also only have a tiny cost of living
>>82363581I'm surprised that pose hasn't been drawn yet.
>>82364526The Target one has even more scenes? You gotta be shitting me.
>>82364385I'll admit to preferring Nick's never really been able to open up enough to date. But I suppose getting burned over and over again, given his history, would make him pretty reluctant to give it a go with Judy.
>>82364519>he doesn't have nigger repellant
>>82364499Does anyone have that elephant Trump sketch?
>>82364608>expecting me to have job applications ready at all times
How would you react if Zootopia 2 ends in zero romantic development between Judy and Nick?
>>82364436He had Judy once before. As Pixel art. Rich really likes pixel art.
>>82364519>>82364608>>82364655To pol with you all. I'm here to see cute animals not this shit.
>>82364526>Amazon/Disney with the lithographsI bet that's US only, isn't it?
>>82364538Why not? I can pretend to be my husbando and nobody will know
>>82363742It's a sensible scenario. I wonder what would happen if Nick or Judy got a low dose of Night Howler in their systems.
>>82364684Bummed out, but I'll be over it within seconds.
>>82364684I mean I'd be fine that I was getting a sequel in general. I'd be kinda bummed that my ship wasn't canon, but I'm an adult and I won't rage like most of /co/ does when their shit isn't canon.
>>82364712If you can't handle the master race, you can leave 4chan.
>>82364735I thought it'd be neat if Nick held onto that one capsule in the case of a do-or-die last stand scenario.>Don't have that savage Nick art someone was doing savedwell fuck
>>82364684ill be fin
>>82364800>master raceWait this is vg now?
>>82364436he had best character for ages.
>>82364575So that's what I figured at first, but rodents have giant families. Does a rabbit family of 120 take the same amount of cash to support as an elephant family of 3?If so, would hiring small labor be cheaper if at all possible? Are large animals forced into only physical labor?Could you get away with grossly underpaying small employees? Is there a relatively equal pay act?
>>82364813>Sequel has Judy trying to hook up Nick and Finnick
>>82364730Very true. Not trying to put you down, just curious. Looks pretty good.
>>82364857They could buy food in bulk, or food meant for bigger animals, so they could all probably eat healthy.
>>82364684Assuming the movie is still good, I can live with it.Zootopia 3 is always a possibility.
>>82364930Just curious, how many 3's has Disney produced. I know Toy Story is one.
>>82364866>>82364823>>82364477>>82364443Why does it hurt so much, /co/?
>>82364684I'll purposefully misinterpret their interactions in order to draw more fanart and get fanfics from people

>>82364684I like ship teases more than anything, if they go all out they (the writers) have more of an opportunity to fuck their friendship/relationship up or just make it less interesting. With stuff like that, it's best to let the fans come up with their own headcanon
Zootopia 2 could end with the exact same dialogue, "You know you love me." "Do I know that? Yes. Yes I do.", except it's Judy first Nick second the next time around.
>>82364961NEVER GIVE UPNEVER SURRENDER

http://hlo.tohotheater.jp/net/schedule/076/TNPI2000J01.doSo, Civil War is selling out, that'll probably be #1 in Japan for the weekend, but Zootopia's selling out screens too. The power of Golden Week.
>>82365290Civil War will make billions and no one will be surprised
>>82365265I think the implications are that while every other species seems to have moved toward monogamy, foxes were already relatively set with that early on. So maybe they're so far ahead in that regard that divorces and such are extremely rare.
>>82365265Science and shit I dunno man.
>>82365309If the Zootopia merch has legs I feel like Disney won't be so swept up in the Marvel mania to sit down and talk about a sequel.

>>82365431>we never got to see him maul Nick in proto
I would create a TV show continuing Judy and Nick's story with them solving cases with the ZPD, the supporting cast would be expanded.1-3 comic book series that don't have to follow Judy or Nick. One would be centered around another animal that works for Zootpia's FBI equivalent.
I finally pick up this hobby after this movie. I feel like an autist.

>>82364961Drawing is supposed to be fun and relaxing. If you're stressing and crying yourself to sleep over it, you aren't doing it right.Yes, art can be challenging and emotionally vexing. But it's not supposed to actually hurt you when you make it. Reel it in a bit and don't take it so seriously. Just do your best to make an effort at drawing every day and you'll see improvement. Nothing worth having comes easy.
>>82365949thanks, i kinda feel like she's got the sexy-refined look at home, wouldn't have 'em on set or anything,

>>82363549I'd try my best not to shoehorn OCs and mostly develope the rest of the ZPD. I could see McHorn as being Judy's rival, Fangmier as a master of disguise method actor, Higgins as the teacher's pet, and Francine as someone who doesn't know her own strength and causes a lot of property damage but gets the job done. It's perfect for containing multiple short stories that may or may not relate to each other, but one big over arching plot about the ZPD would take up most of the pages.
>>82365456I don't know why people keep saying this was Disney's B movie. Anyone who has read anything regarding the production of this film can tell Disney has poured its heart and soul into making a damn good film. Nothing "B" about it. John Lasseter said, and I quote, "I believe the cleverness and fun add up to make Zootopia one of hte most entertaining films we've ever made. At its heart, it's pure Disney. But it's also unlike anything seen before in animation." Disney doesn't have a "B" team they assign this shit to. It's just Disney, pure and simple. They have different teams working on different projects, but none of them "outrank" one another like so many people seem to think.
>>82366051>Nick puts on his aviators.>Smiles smugly as he says his one-liner.>Gets told to shut up and show some respect, every time.
>>82366315zootopo staring noc and jiddy
>>82366257I wouldn't see McHorn as a rival, but more as someone who would find her more of a minor nuisance than anything else.Jack Savage would make a good rival imo.
>>82363549I dropped this idea a while ago: Judy and Nick have kids, at least 2, with one male rabbit and female fox. One of the subplots is the boy coming to terms with not being able to match his sister physically, and the girl having to come to terms with being the one who isn't petite and cute.
>>82366199>>82366208Thanks saving for later. Will eventually return with ThirdShitDrawing
>>82366381looking forward to it.
>>82366339Disney rarely ever produces two movies in a single year, its only natural to assume that one production drew in more talent than the other like The Lion King vs Pocahontas
>>82366339Lets see>Little to no good merch>released in march which tends to be the graveyard month of movies>They had to scrap an entire fucking movie (proto zootopia)It's pretty clear Disney plays strategic favorites with it's projects atleast brown princess SJW bait movie is historically proven by Pocahontas to be a fucking flop
>>82366373Make it a one-off and it can be interesting.
>>82366315I'm starting to like these.>>82366339>Disney has poured its heart and soul into making a damn good filmThat's wrong, Anon. Disney the company did non of that. It was the artists working at Disney and Pixar who created this beautieful movie. I'm glad Disney let them do it, but it clearly shows that the company had no high expectations for Zootopia.
>>82364724I wish this meme ship would die
>>82366489This. The less involvement Disney has in the film the better the film typically ends up being.
>>82366408I'm sure it's been done before, but I'd like you to give me some examples so that I can pick them apart pedantically. Also, it's not just the physical difference, but the dynamics of how that plays out in an mixed family. It's not that either of them got shitty genes; they're both what they're supposed to be as far as their species goes.
>>82366342I wonder what kinds of personalities those background cops have.
>>82366438>its only natural to assume that one production drew in more talent than the other like The Lion King vs PocahontasBut there's absolutely no evidence to support this allegation. People just keep parroting it over and over without actually understanding how Disney Animation is structured at all. Read Ed Catmull's book "Creativity Inc" and it talks a lot about how Disney and Pixar manage multiple projects at once.>>82366458>Little to no good merch Has nothing to do with the film itself>released in march which tends to be the graveyard month of moviesHas more to do with marketing than the film itself>They had to scrap an entire fucking movie (proto zootopia)Do you know how many of Disney and Pixar's films have been scrapped or tremendously changed more than halfway through production? This is incredibly common, even expected.>>82366489>That's wrong, Anon. Disney the company did non of that. It was the artists working at Disney and Pixar who created this beautieful moviePossibly the most asinine, pedantic comment I've seen in one of these threads. "Disney" in this context is very obviously referring to the creative team that produced the film. >but it clearly shows that the company had no high expectations for Zootopia. What clearly shows this? You didn't actually point out anything, you just drew that conclusion from nothing.
Why does everyone insist on shipping Judy and Nick together. Their relationship was clearly platonic, and not to mention breeding is impossible.
>>82364608>>82364655>>82366566This whole thread chain is reddit-tier cancer.
>>82366602also Nick is clearly gay
>>82366621They showed the film in progress to Pixar and Pixar made them turn it around and make it better.
>>82366615You should've seen the last thread.
>>82366530>>82366489This ignorant Disney bashing is comical. It's like you people think Disney is still run by Michael Eisner. Ever since Bob Iger took over and became friends with Steve Jobs, John Lasseter, and Ed Catmull, and initiated the merger between Disney and Pixar, the creative cultures at both companies have flourished tremendously. Disney had everything to do with this film. Disney is responsible for collaborating every artist involved with the film. Without Disney, this film did not happen. Accept it and stop with the blind bashing.
>>82366639So what stopped them from doing that with Good Dinosaur? :^)
>>82366602they're cute you hear me? CUTE
>>82366035Well, they were also way off when they underestimated Deadpool, too. In general, though, most of the films on this list made less money than they predicted.
>>82366664Or Brave...Or Cars 2...
>>82366664you know how foreigners do crazy shit that everyone thinks is crazy but they think is completely normal? same logic here, except Pixar is regarded as the kings so they dont have anyone to slap their shit like Disney Animation Studios
>>82366639>Pixar made them turn it around and make it better. That is false. Pixar made some very useful suggestions to Disney on how they could make the story better. Pixar has no authority over Disney's animation studios, the same way Disney animation studios have no authority over Pixar. They operate autonomously of one another, but are more than willing to help each other out creatively. It is a symbiotic relationship where neither is in charge.

>>82365456>>82366339>>82366438>>82366458>>82366489>>82366530Disney is one of the WORST fucking corporations you will ever have the displeasure of seeing in business, however, they do hire really talented people. When Disney doesn't meddle in the affairs of a movie, and actually lets movie geniuses like Byron and Lasseter do their fucking jobs, the movie comes out as something special. Especially when the movie being forced to conform to Oscar-bait standards. History repeating itself is satisfying in this case, but it's also frustrating. When will those hacks learn that pandering to a fucking minority is box office suicide, while movies like Zootopia, that can cover the Lowest common denominator, while appealing to high brow film critics, get results. And good fucking results at that, if Zootopia gets jewed out of it's much deserved Oscar to the trash that is Moana I'm gonna play tea party with the bottles under the sink.
>>82366721That isn't how the Disney/Pixar merger works at all. Pixar and Disney's respective studios work entirely independently of one another. Disney owns Pixar, but Pixar drew up very specific rules for how Pixar would remain creatively in control of all of its own productions. Disney and Pixar do not even allow one another to borrow staff members between productions. Disney doesn't get to tell Pixar to do jack shit. Disney acquired Pixar because they sorely needed Pixar's help, and telling Pixar what to do would not have helped Disney get back on top.

And it's a simply facile view.

>>82367207Not that anon, but my major gripe is that - for the most part- Disney is running a successful business, but by doing so (and flooding the market with their films which are, for the most part, pretty bland and generic) they are killing film as an art form and reducing it to shallow entertainment. Also I like to see some competition, and I find it funny how people that so often bitch and moan about corporations and monopolies are perfectly fine with Disney despite the fact that it is one of the most blatant examples of a monopoly on the planet.

We declined. It is a tenet of the Pixar culture that people should work there because they want to, not because a contract requires them to, and as a result, no one at Pixar was under contract. But even though this rejection was based on a core belief, it made the deal feel questionable for Disney. On the Pixar side, meanwhile, there was considerable concern that the Disney bureaucracy would inadvertently destroy what we had built. Both sides, then, felt at considerable risk. The result, though, was that at the heart of this merger was an understanding that both companies had to trust each other. Each side felt a personal obligation to live up to the intent of the agreement—and I believe this was the ideal way to begin our relationship.

>>82367646Zootopia just happened to slip under the radar to them. It's an exception to the rule rather than the rule itself.Look at what happened with Bolt -- how it went from unique look to plain and boring (and Byron was involved in that film).Look at Frozen, and how they went from taking a chance with Elsa being the villain to chickening out and making her 'le sympathetic' character and the result was a mess of a script. Look at their Marvel films which all look and feel the same with the possible exception of Guardians of the Galaxy which was, yet again, a film they didn't have high hopes for. Keep an eye on the sequel to see if they're so willing to give Gunn as much creative freedom. Regardless, at the end of the day film is inching closer and closer to pure entertainment at the expense of art. The fact that Zootopia managed to be marketable AND original is nothing short of a miracle. Daily reminder that Nick does NOT live under the bridge no rid he homeless, he lives at 1955 Cypress Grove Lane, Savanna Central, Zootopia City, Zootopia.
I just tried doodling nick and i kinda surprised myself with the quality considering its one of the only things i've ever actually drawn. All the stuff about "keep practicing" is true. I would take a picture and post it, but i don't have anything to take a picture with.
>>82373270Why did he leave? Nobody ever complained about him.
>>82373506Wait. Why did Judy need Finnick to find Nick when she had his address?
>>82373270If he's as much as a candy-ass like Chumpy, then good riddance.
>>82373506So he lives in the Savanna.

>>82373574Well, like I said, Nick didn't live under the bridge, so what probably happened was:>Judy drives to Zootopia needing to find Nick>logically, she goes to his house first.>upon discovering he's not there, she asks Finnick for help>Finnick refers her to Nick's favorite hangout spot. Also,>Cypress GROVE Lane

>>82370065Judy interrupted him during his "me time"
>>82373728Mods only had been a problem with content that was a bit lewd, but really not ban worthy. I for one don't recall Bore drawing anything lewd.If Weaver's (the real one) shit had been deleted, then because of his reputation and fan following. And Chumpy left because he got frustrated over Anons claiming that he scares other drawfags away from threads and taking requests.
>>82371651I don't think either could win. It would be the con equivalent of an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object.
>>82373807Its a SSN

Anyone else feel like the movie kinda dragged a bit at around the time they go to see Manchas?
>>82374237>>82374283>We'll never even visit a place like this
>>82374167Speaking of Cliffside, it looked as if that facility was going to collapse over the cliff. Even the roadway where Nick and Judy hid up against (after running across the bridge) looked eroded away.
Enough Fallout 4 and doodling for tonight, had a ton of fun with these. Hope to expand and flesh out these two in coming drawings, though I'm sure no one gives a fuck.I'll draw that kangaroo next time.
>>82374324>>82374324Nope, that wasn't it for me. I think the general consensus here is that the movie kinda stutters after the press conference, I don't know if it was intentional or not, but after the press conference, you kinda just feel a little less engaged, and, on top of that, the pacing goes bad. You can tell that in the last 30 minutes everyone suddenly went: Oh fuck! There's too much contents, we gotta keep this under 2 hours.
>>82374383I can't figure out why they'd locate a hospital in such a place unless it was always meant to be top secret. But why would you locate something you don't want people finding somewhere so scenic? Maybe it was to use the waterfall. It's a good place to dump bodies.
>>82374334Never say never anon, If VR can be salvaged from the hands of hack companies, we might be seeing a VR adaptation of Zootopia within the next 3 decades.
>>82374465its still good, but everything after nick walks out seems more rushed, though the bridge scene is the best part of the movie everything after happens abrupt or convent
>>82374334Montana can come pretty close.
>>82374324it only dragged because of the sloth scene before.>>82374465then it was rushed "we need to wrap things up, kids wont take it!anymore!"would be nice to see Finnick take down Weaselton as he tries to get away from his bootleg dvd stand. AND then cut to mr. Big's scene.yeah.. i just wanted him to have bigger role... as himself.
>>82374465I'm alright with everything but Bellwether's confrontation post-race war. The pace was appropriate because cracking the case after finding out about the nighthowlers and what they do, they had more to go off of than a missing otter case with no leads.

>>82374607What do you think he chipped his tooth on?
