These all sound really great. The 3D is probably going to be what sends me over the edge and just completely break the bank. I've had the same busted 2007 Toshiba plasma TV and a tiny-ass Samsung smart TV (For vidya and shit) for years, And neither is gonna do this movie justice. Is a 3d TV worth it? Anyone anons got any brand or size recommendations?
>>812399783D is still pretty much a gimmick. I don't really see it becoming mainstream in anytime soon.

>>81247825why the fuck
You know, with how chill Rich Moore is about answering questions about the film on his Twitter, why hasn't anyone asked him about how much time passed after bellweather was arrested and up till Nick's graduation into the ZPD? Up till now we honestly have no idea how big a time gap was in between these two events and anything we say is just speculation since the film doesn't specify a time, he obviously had to attend police academy training, who knows how long that was? it's kinda fun to imagine that there's like 6+ months to maybe a year gap of relationship building between Nick and Judy (during his training year) that we don't know shit about since the film skips ahead to him joining the ZPD and we never know what they do between that time. One of you Twitterdrones get on that shit and ask him! It's a pretty fun question, imo, I think he would answer it. I aint got no twitter account
>>81248045And how long did it take Judy to graduate the academy? We got "15 years later" between the fair to her first day on the obstacle course, but no idea how long her training montage lasted or any classwork aside from the physical challenges.
>>81248105Then mention he gets naked in one of the books so maybe
>>81248089Academy lasts about 5 to 6 months generally
>>81238424It would have been really cool if you had put Zootopia somewhere in the OP
What kind of hijinks aside from the Pawsickle hustle do you think there was? What would you like to see? If Nick and Finnick were to turn to more hefty crime like robbery, what do you think they'd steal, etc.?
>>81248089That one doesn't matter as much since at that point we had little invested in Judy beyond "she wants to be the first bunny cop" so even if it took months and months we just assumed she did her training, hung out with her parents, etc. The one for Nick is way more substantial since it also implies this massive block of time that he and Judy had to further develop their relationship and it ultimately ends up with the way they are at the Concert and at pretty much anything between them after graduation. Unless he was basically forbidden to see Judy during his entire training, but obviously that's not the case, they met up on off days and texted and shit (if Nick even got a phone anyway)We can also just assume that her training time was the same as Nick's so it kinda answers both questions either way.>>81248175That's what I assume as well, but it'd be fun to have the Rich confirm it for sake of official word, it may have been shorter or longer, or who the fuck knows maybe Nick just joined the next fucking day (not likely)
>>81248220>what do you think they'd steal, etc.?my heart
>>81248182This is an old as hell thread that went up at the same time as the other Blu-ray thread and somehow managed to not die for 4 hours

>>81248220>more hefty crime robberyBut anon, Nick has already pulled off the biggest heist imaginable. He stole Judy's heart
>>81245289>>81245289I like to think that humanity built up advanced biotech that weaponized the wildlife in the area where it was dispersed. The animals would become violent and act as a unified group against any human agents. Then a US testing site for the weapon is hit by a terrorist attack from PETA. They end up stealing a sample of the bio-weapon and craft a dirty bomb with it. Several months later they set it off in Central Park, the birds then carry the virus over land and the fish carry it over sea. Within weeks almost the entire world is hit by the virus. But this version of the virus was of an experimental strain that gave the infected animals basic English language skills and over time resulted in mutating the brains into being more human-like. The world erupts into a warzone as forest fires waft over the planet in an attempt to kill off most of the wildlife population. Eventually a new bioweapon is made to kill any animal infected with the PETA dirty bomb. But it backfires and kills only humans that passively had the virus in their veinsThen a few thousands years later Judy Hopps in born. oh god? I caught the autism
So is there a decent collection of all the concept art and such, or do you have to go search it out from a variety of places?

>>81248305Seriously tone down that autism, humans were confirmed never to exist anyway by the movie devs
>>81248305But then there would be remnants of human civilization, or hints of it, like bones or something. It's a nice thought, but it's simply animals evolving into smarter animals.

While doing their thing. It wouldn't fit with their characters. I'd like it to be a gradual decent into a darker tone, not an immediate shift.I'd also like to leave romance completely out of it, unless the players want to steer the story in that direction. I'd leave a choice here or there that would lead to a romance sub plot, but nothing heavy handed.I'd also like the idea of Lizards and Avians immigrating to Zootopia to be a big part of the story.

Here's a Faustian bargain. You get to be transported to Zootopia and your life will be guaranteed to be happier than your current one.HOWEVER, you must solve 100 mysteries in a 100 days or on midnight of the 100th day you'll die in excruciating agony over the course of 14 days(enough pain to make those 100 days not seem worth it), and while if you don't solve a mystery on a day you can solve 2 to make it up the next day, any mysteries you solve over the days you spent in Zootopia don't count. So you can't solve a two mysteries on day 1 and have it count, only the first will. Furthermore, while you may have help solving the mysteries you must find the answer yourself. If someone tells you, it doesn't count. Being transformed into an animal is optional.

Okay, so I went to see the movie again this last Saturday for a second time. I gotta say, it was almost as good as the first time. I really enjoyed the montage of when Judy gets to Zootopia and she(and the audience) get to see the city for the first time. I would love if the sequel explored more of the different districts in a bit more depth. That scene with Nick and Finnick getting their jumbo pop at the store was just so sweet and warmed up my heart, even though I knew it was just a charade. Finnick looks so cute with those big eyes, and those fuzzy ears of his. That scene with Hops apologizing to Nick was pretty emotional and I felt a bit teary when I saw it.Also, seeing that final scene with Judy and Nick in the patrol, with Nick holding that popsicle suggest that he is still in touch with Finnick on some level. I still wish the movie had been longer, more of the different places had been explored in Zootopia, more details on just why Bellwether didn't like predators, and so on.8/10 movie.

>>81251528>Claiming that to be a bad thing
>>81251503I like this image
>>81250722>>81250802Actually, if you assume that cops would still only carry some type of pistol except for specific assignments, the fact that there's a huge variety of animals makes guns really a lot less practical.Like, for small animals, your already less-than-accurate handgun is crazy likely to miss, and if you DO hit them they'll basically just explode, which is less than optimal for police action. And for larger animals, most pistols are just going to piss them off. Even something as modest as a wild boar is something you'd be stupid to try take down with a handgun, and like... bears? Rhinos? Elephants? Laughable. So it's pretty believable that ZPD don't carry guns.

>>81252090Well, that was especially true when all of Disney's sequels were direct-to-video cash-ins. Frozen 2 will be the first time since Rescuers Down Under that they've actually done a real sequel for theaters that's part of the Disney Animation canon.I know "technically" Disney released Jungle Book 2 and Peter Pan 2 in theaters, but they aren't part of the Disney canon. They were DTV movies that got a last minute release in theaters because Disney figured they could make an extra buck from unsuspecting parents. It makes me sad that all of the movies from the Disney 90s renaissance already got low-budget DTV sequels. I'm pretty sure at least one of them would have had a real, theatrical sequel announced by now if not for the fact that the brands have already been cheapened and they don't want to confuse people with sequel reboots. A real sequel to the Lion King with a proper budget could have been dope.
>>81252327Jesus was that dialog passed through Google Translate or something?
>>81252355Because they're Disney.

>>81252372Tell that to Lion King.
>>81252322I feel like the best way to continue Disney movies are to use other media. I'd love to see a Zootopia tv show especially if it had a loner story arch and was 2d animated. I've heard Lion Guard is pretty good but I haven't seen it yet.
>>81252322>they aren't part of the Disney canonwhy not
>>81252411Eh, I have 1 major issue and multiple minor ones with Zootopia becoming a franchise. The main one is theres almost no way in hell they will be able to get everyone back for a children's tv show. Bateman and Goodwin MAYBE, though I'm pretty sure Bateman is too big for that sort of thing now.And its unlikely they would be able to get Idris back as Bogo, though I suppose he would be less mandatory than Nick and Judy's VAs
>>81252372Not only did they have the sex implied in this one, they had the weird animal alien sex implications.
>>81252411I'd love a Zootopia TV series but I still want a real sequel. A TV show can fill the time gap between the first and second movie, and fully establish Nick's new career as a cop, and give some personality / characterization to the other cops in Precinct 1. It can be 2D animated so we don't have to hear bellyaching about how the CG isn't as good as the movie.
>>81251920Probably this would be her face. At most just a little creeped out. My folder is pretty vanilla.
>>81252470I seem to remember that later they said the two were technically the same species. Females are feline and males are canine
>>81252461Pay 'em the money and they can find the time to show up for a recording session. You can get real flexible with voiceover work schedules, it's not like you need to get the whole cast on set in the same city at the same time.
>>81252416They were cheaply animated in Asia and produced under Walt Disney Home Video, not Walt Disney Animation Studio. There were other animated movies that Disney has distributed in theaters that aren't part of the studio canon either, like The Wild, A Christmas Carol and Mars Needs Moms.
>>81251760Good. I'm glad this was confirmed..it really makes me happy that she's still around and not some depressing death story. Besides this means we'll (hopefully) see her in the sequel when Nick introduces Judy to her, or that may have already happened.
>>81252529Perhaps, but they're still weird-animal-aliens. There was probably yowling involved.
>>81252530Would a children's cartoon have the budget to hire big names like them though? Thats the main issue.Combine the fact that tv budgets are smaller with the fact that they would have to be payed more since they are recording a LOT more material than they do for a movie, and it becomes much less feasible to get them back.
>>81252461Honestly, I'd love to see something that follows a large cast of different characters other than Judy and Nick. Basically, I want a Nichijou style Zootopia tv show. The thing about Zootopia is that it's not the characters that really sell the story (sure Judy and Nick are cute as hell) but it's really the world that pulls you in. I'd love to see more of the world building that we couldn't get in the film, and I'd like to see some new characters introduced and developed.>>81252475I think it would look really good in a vector style animation, like that Power Puff Girls special we got a couple years ago.
>>81252582I dunno. A large reason why I'm excited for the sequel is the characters. If they announced it would be a completely new cast, I'm pretty sure my excitement would fall pretty hard even if I was still sure it was gonna be good.I wouldn't mind other stories in Zootopia but right now I want more of the main cast.
>>81251836It might be rent-controlled.
>>81252602Well, I think the world is so well established and the original plot so simple that a full sequel would work fine, I'm just saying if they make a tv show I'd be more interested in a large new cast of characters.
>Search for image of magician pulling Judy out of hat>Get ponified Nick and Judy insteadThe Internet has failed me once again.
>>81252461Bateman would probably do the show as long as it didn't conflict with filming schedules. And he seems to love playing the character for what that's worth. Also, JK Simmons does voice work and if they for some reason bring Lionheart back, he'd be easy to bring in for occasional episodes. The supporting cast isn't really as important. There are plenty of actors who can do a soundalike fill-in for characters like Bogo. It's possible that we might see a situation like Kung Fu Panda where no-one comes back except maybe one VA (which in this case would probably be Ginnifer Goodwin), but even then I wouldn't write off the show. The KFP show's vocal cast was one of its strongest points-- most of them sounded extremely close to their theatrical counterparts, and in the case of Po's actor he sounded identical to Jack Black right down to his mannerisms. Most fans also say they actually prefer Tigress's VA in the show to Angelina Jolie. When you have to have an alternate cast for TV, it all boils down to how good the substitute actors are. I'm pretty sure they could get Bateman back but I wouldn't write off the show if they have to get someone cheaper with a more flexible schedule, because with KFP it ended up working out.
>>81252582>The thing about Zootopia is that it's not the characters that really sell the storyI'm gonna have to disagree wholeheartedly. Nick and Judy are the emotional center of Zootopia. If you do a story about other characters it's inevitably going to feel like a spinoff / "extended universe" deal. You fall in love with the world because you fall in love with Nick and Judy.
>>81252738Judy confirmed for Haruhara Haruko
>>81252738deliciously on model
>>81252771Man I just hope the new season can live up to the first one. Perhaps its been too long, but maybe it'll be good. I'm not expecting it to surpass the first season, but if its at least almost as good I'll be happy.
>>81252758It's not that Judy and Nick aren't fantastic, and I'd love to see more them. I think that a new cast of characters could work just as well as them, especially if you had a lot of celebrity guest stars who play a character for one or two episodes. I just can't see Judy and Nick solving crimes staying fresh for very long, and it would probably diminish interest in a sequel if it's just more of the same.
>>81252817>the new seasonWait, what?Huh, that's a thing. I get to find out about this news from Zootopia thread.
>>81252856Of course we have no idea what they actually have planned for the sequel. Whether itll be a straight cop movie or something else.
>>81252856Sure they can have more characters in a TV show, like building up the other cops in the ZPD as an actual supporting cast rather than single-gag bit roles like they were in the movie. Even with that though, Nick and Judy should still be the main characters of a TV show and sequel. People who are interested in a sequel / series are going to want more Nick and Judy, because that's what the movie left audiences wanting.
>>81252817I was really concerned that it'd be a let down, but aside from Haruko I think it's gonna be such a different show that I'm gonna try to view it as it's own thing, and it doesn't hurt that there's a lot of people from Gainax/Studio Trigger working on it.>>81252880Honestly, I'm hoping it's a globetrotting action film, sort of like Tin Tin. I want to see what the rest of the world of Zootopia is like, and it would keep things fresh.
>>81252880I'm sure Nick and Judy will still be cops, but they'll probably find a larger-than-life situation to stick them in that keeps it from feeling like a straightforward police procedural.
Friendly reminder for every thread that if you want a Zootopia TV series you are a COMPLETE shithead and want to ruin the shit out of the amazing characters and visuals that have been given to us in the movie.A TV series would be held back on the visuals by a 22 minute run time budget and they would absolutely FUCK the character development because of filler storylines and bullshit to sell toys to kids. It'll feel like shit and look like shit. No fucking thanks.>B..but <name of cartoon> was goodNo.FUCKING WAIT FOR THE SEQUEL.
>>81252961I wonder if they will try to do a style of crime film.Maybe go full noir on us? I wouldn't complain. Though I suppose short of it all taking place in like the Nocturnal district, I suppose Zootopia is already too colorful a place to do true Noir without it feeling like a whole new city.
>>81252974What if I want a Zootopia radio drama?
>>81252974This bun speaks truth!
>>81252974Nice pasta. And I'd love to see Zootopia in 2D, which is likely the direction they'd go for the show.
>>81252974Thank you based bun
>>81253044knowing that she's confirmed to be alive and well makes this .gif 100x more happier for meRich you have made my night
>>81253085Pretty sure it would be more cost effective to just use the assets they already have created than do 2d animation
>>81253108Not for TV. Working with those assets would be murder on a TV budget because of all the shaders and "grooming" that they require for every shot. Downscaling master quality assets is not as cost effective as just making new, lower fidelity ones either.Either they'll end up making new 3D assets for the show or they'll just go 2D, and between the two options 2D would be cheaper and look better.
>>81253141Its just bros being bros bro
>>81253108I dont want 2d though. the 3d technology was so impressive and beyond anything i had ever seen before. if they dont continue to utilize it i would be very heartbroken
>>81253190probably touched by a woman
>>81253018I want someone to ask the makers of Zootopia what were the plans for Finnick in a nurse outfit. I really what to find out.
>>81253164Agreed, as much as I thought the KFP and HTTYD tv shows are pretty good, I can't help but think they would be much better had they not gone with downgraded 3d assets and instead just gone 2d. Hell, I'd even take flash over downgraded cgi.
>>81253044Nick is so adorable as a kid. He(and other kids) don't deserve getting that awful treatment.
>>81253231who should i ask? i'll make a twitter just for it.
>Image limit reached>Thread is still at the 9th pageFuck...
>>81253279>Making a social media account just to ask creators a questionThis is why fandoms go too far.
>>81249675fuck this is perfect
>>81253279Well, whomever is answering questions. Also, how about asking also what were some other ideas they had about hustles for Nick and Finnick?
>>81253332I don't see how thats the case.
Aww. I hit F5 on my Pixiv search, something cool-looking appears, but in between the refresh and my clicking on the link, "An error has occurred. Artist has made their work private."
>>81253332ok...so creating a social media account (literally like a minute at most) to ask a legitimate question from creators who are super forthcoming especially when it comes to scrapped material is now going too far?what the fuck ever, drama queen
>>81253368Too much too quickly. Im also terrible dreadful and hate shit like that.>>81253386Eh I don't disagree with you.
>>81253332You haven't been paying attention to just how forthcoming Rich and Byron have been, have you? They're pretty much answering every question asked of them that isn't "WILL THE FOX AND RABBIT FUCK ALREADY"
>>81253378Story of my life.
>>81253417I have not. Not at all. I don't even follow them on social media.
>>81253442Actually, things turned around. They pulled it from Pixiv, but then it turned up in my Japanese Twitter search field instead. https://twitter.com/_disam/status/715063346068729856
>>81253445Well their twitter posts get posted on here a lot.
>>81253473That's about as much as I follow them then.
>>81253445Their answers have been posted in these threads. It's how we know the names of the sheep and sound cougar from Judy's play.
>>81253506The other kid is named Jaguar by the way.Pronounced Hog-u-arehttps://twitter.com/ByronPHoward/status/709631989293264896
i asked, hopefully it still seemed respectful with the limitation of the characters and trying to fit in both parts of the question
>>81253624What did you ask?
>>81253717"Curious fans would love to know about the nurse Finnick spotted in the art book as well as other past Nick/Finnick hustles"
>>81253748in retrospect, it wasn't much of a question...but again character limitations and fitting both parts in was annoying. i think, if he decides to answer, he'll understand.
>>81251909Zootopia works better than any other recent Disney movie for a sequel or a cartoon series. The ending of Zootopia leaves so many doors open for a sequel. All that happens is Nick gets hired and Judy gets promoted as police officers. I'd like a detective cartoon show about Zootopia.
