In Zootopia, how the hell did they police the rodents if they only had massive swoll police? A rabbit almost destroyed part of their ghetto, there's no way an elephant could have gone in without taking out buildings.
Maybe they have their own police force, like a substation where rodent suspects are taken.
>>80854477I assume Little Rodentia has its own police force, which is separate from what we see in the movie. We only see the "Downtown" Precinct in the movie anyway, which implies there are other stations around the city. What's a bit weird is that they seem to have jurisdiction over the whole city, so maybe things work a little differently in Zootopia. Maybe there are multiple precincts but they overlap a lot.
If you look at the official poster art, there's a rodent police car in the right lane. Not sure why they had rodent cops but not bunny cops.
Daily reminder there ain't gonna be no sequel just like big hero 6, frozen, rapunzel and wreck it ralph all don't have sequels. Direct to video isn't profitable anymore either so you can forget that too.
One of the rhinos shouts at Judy to "wait for the little cops". I don't know why people seem to have missed it but it was said quite clearly.
I think the central station was more for big cases, and SWAT. But each area had its specialized departments, so there are rodent police but they didn't go through the training for every area.

>>80855432>TV serieses aren't sequelsIf you mean it that way, then we're all good. I thought your initial post had meant "ha ha the universe won't be expanded upon and the story ends here." Apparently, you simply meant "reminder that the movie will not have another theatrically-released movie that continues the story established in the first movie."So we're cool. Tangled will be getting lore expansion and adventures with the TV series while the BH6 one will pretty much fulfil what people want from a theatrical sequel, which is seeing the characters do more things and experience more adventures in a continuation of the storyline from the existing movie.>Just let movies be, DisneyIt does seem like you're just against the concept of a theatrical sequel in general though, since many of those past movies got continuations (and in a few cases, prequels) of their stories in some way.
Wait.Did Judy literally admit that she loves Nick near the end during the car chase scene? or was that just some western verbal expression that doesn't literally mean it? I'm not 100% fluent with English, well, not the specific small things, anyway. I looked around online but couldn't find anything relevant on the expression or how they used it. Was it meant to be taken as a joke the way they had that exchange? like playful shit? That completely caught me off guard and I thought it was adorable

>>80855505How else will they get kids to develop a foot/paw fetish.
>>80855539It could be taken as platonic or romantic in english.Tone of voice matters a lot. It had sort of a sarcastic tone when Nick said "You know you love me" which implies hes not professing his love for her.And if he had said it to another dude, nobody would assume he was coming out as gay.So really it just allows you to see it how you want to see it. They could either be admitting they love each other or just playing along.
>>80855499True. Actually more likely than roommates, since they're too obvious a guess.>they bring girlfriends back>noise increases fourfold>Judy loses it and tranqs them all>breaking point leads to Nick offering her sleep at his place

>>80855539Well, if you want to be literal about it:">You know you love me.">"Yes, yes I do."She did literally admit that yes, she loves Nick.If people want to stray from literallity though, they're free to re-interpret that as friendly joking.

>>80855539It could be taken platonically. I have friends who have said the same thing. >"You know you love meee" after they pull some shit or tease. Same for family. It's the same expression someone have when they thank a close friend. "Oh my god I love you, you're the best" when a friend helps you in a bind. But very it's easy comment to read between the lines, and a lot of people will use it to subtly flirt too. It can be dependent on context and degree of a relationship.
>>80855424Bogo has such a kissable face. The look he gave Judy when consoling her just melted me
>>80855539It's commonly used as playful banter between friends when one friend does something kinda bad, weird, etc. They'll say "You know you love me!" and the unspoken implication is "Get over it, you love me anyway."
>>80855620Wasn't he a ferret? I honestly can't tell the difference
>>80855003If you're chasing a bad guy through the city and they end up leading you into another precinct, it's not like you stop and wait for someone else to take care of it. In the case of Little Rodentia, they're gated off from the rest of the city and it's presumable that when they have to deal with crime, it's usually small rodents that their own police can take care of easily. On the rare occasion that a larger animal, like Duke gets into the city, it's a much more dangerous situation and really Judy was the closest thing to the "perfect" officer to handle it. The rodent police wouldn't have been able to handle him, and all the other officers from Precinct 1 were too big.

Wait. Just far back did she have all this shit masterminded? it almost seems like the only time her plan actually came together was when Judy fucked up her speech at the press hearing and said too much on accident, but how the fuck did she even know she would mess that up and turn everyone against predators? was it literally just 100% luck that all her schemes worked out? it doesn't seem like she actually masterminded anything other than being the one putting out the hits on Predators. If Judy had never made the speech and made it public, her plans would have never gone anywhere and the mayor would have kept shit hushed up indefinitely? Also I don't care if she's a fucking racist. >>80856071She helped Judy out with her investigation because she wanted Judy to blow the mayor's cover with the secret hospital. Bellwether would get instated as mayor immediately, which is what she wanted, and the feral predators would go public, which is also what she wanted. Her whole plan was to sow political unrest throughout the city, however Mayor Lionheart proved to be more effective at containing the situation than she wanted. Lionheart was after all the mayor with access to a lot of resources, while Bellwether's conspiracy seems to have been just her and a few other sheep working with what was basically a rolling meth lab. They did target some specific people like Mr. Otterton who were causing problems (he was probably targeted because he found out about the Night Howlers and was going to inform Mr. Big about it), but her end goal was always to cause distrust among predators. Mr. Otterton would not have been a target of interest otherwise because he's so small, and all the other predators they targeted were much bigger and more dangerous. All of the staff at the secret hospital were predators too, including the doctor (a badger). This probably helped Lionheart ensure that they would keep their mouths shut since they all had a stake in the feral predators going public.

>>80856183The unfortunate fact of the matter is that Frozen 2 is gonna make a ton of money even if it's shit.At least Zootopia is doing extremely well, though. It's about to have it's third week in a row with the #1 spot and the dropoffs have been small. I still doubt it's going to do Frozen numbers and cross $1 billion world wide, but there's really no telling. Even though Dawn of Justice comes out in a week, the next big animated / family movie doesn't come out until April (Ratchet & Clank), so it's still got plenty of time to keep adding to its haul. Also, animated sequels aren't really that much of a risk anymore. Generally speaking if an animated movie makes a lot of money, the sequel is going to also. In some ways they're a safer investment than live action sequels, although the reason they are so much slower to come out is due to the amount of time it takes to make an animated film vs. live action.

Her reaching for the spray was subconsciously reflexive, but combined with her speech just seconds beforehand, alienated her enough from Nick for him to feel betrayed and broken. On top of him purposefully trying to intimidate her, she was brought up in a household that stereotyped foxes, as well as being violently assaulted by a fox as a child. >>80857041I need this to be a thing>>80857063"You're pretty good!" pic related

>>80856071My personal belief is that it was touch and go. She wanted to stage predators going savage, but didn't expect Lionheart to have them kidnapped and to keep it all under wraps. I assumed she made sure the syrum was made to be undetectable, making it seem that savagery was happening naturally, or she bribed that badger doctor to tell that to Lionheart after she knew he was kidnapping the predator's she darted. It was Luck that Judy came along and carried that misinformation to the public, but there was a decent amount of planning done all things considered, and I imagined she had something planned for the future before Judy came into play.

Would she have stayed on her farm for the rest of her life, never meeting Nick again? It's sad to think about.
>>80857290I have no doubt that Nick missed Judy as much as she missed him, he just had a different way of expressing it. Judy expressed it by coming back to Nick and apologizing, and Nick expressed it by taking her back and forgiving her, even though her actions are what caused the fissure between them in the first place. He had plenty of time to think about what had happened between them, and in all likeliness he'd already forgiven her but didn't know where to find her. He decided to just sit in his favorite drinking spot and hope things would get better eventually.

Finally saw the movie yesterday and even though i've spoiled basically all of it for myself I still enjoyed it, some things I was surprised I enjoyed so much:Judys parents were far funnier than I thought they'd be I really enjoyed all their scenes. I expected to hate clawhauser too but I thought he was one of the funnier characters. I usually hate the fat side-kick guys. The idea of him and bogo though still irks me, Bogo sems way too old.One surprise wasn't as nice as the others. Nick and Judys chemistry together. I shipped them as soon as I saw the teaser trailer and have been riding the train hard for the last 5 months and I thought in the movie the chemistry was fantastic, I could watch an entire movie of them arguing and joking around in random situations. It was the highlight of the movie for me. BUT what made me uncomfortable was how much I could understand how people are completely OK with them staying as platonic friend-zone-whatever. I know why Disney didn't try to cram in a romance angle, there was literally NO time in the movie, holy shit it was jam packed with short sharp plot continuation (except the sloth scene ha). Some things were as I expected: Gideon was a fat hick, funny to laugh at, I don't get how people could ship him with anything.Mr Big was enjoyable but not very memorable outside of his godfather shtick.
>>80856085Personally I'm splitting my time between bathing in the pleasure this movie gave me and wallowing in my hatred for Sausage Party.

The fact she replied like "do...I?" "..Yeah, I guess I do" or however she said it really does come off like a flirty line or a "I'm totally into you" line. >>80859544Would there be an option for elections? Or just approval rating from general groups? So we can have a situation to assign someone like Dawn Bellwether to the assistant mayorship i.e. "I think he just wanted the sheep vote."Like a "Satisfaction Meter" for general groups: Arctic animals, Savannah animals, etc. Then there are sub-groups within each demographic going down to genus/species level like: Zebra satisfaction 55%, Gnu 40%, Cheetah 95% etc. You'd get boosts per demographic if you assign members of their species to popular posts, or promote them, or build more of their preferred food type/habitat type, aside from general stuff like housing/job/consumer goods/entertainment satisfaction levels. What would resources be? Money (from taxes, etc)....construction materials? Maybe synthetics and naturals, and the use of natural (animal) products would be controversial? Especially for multi-species campaigns/maps where IF there is peace between mammals and reptiles, using crocodile skins would have a negative rating in the mammal city?

>yfw 15 minutes into a Disney movie and the main character is an affirmative action hire
>>80859652I'm far from good, but most of the stuff isn't actually that detailed as models. What it falls into is textures and lighting guys, and the animators who are pretty much the all star guys who get the most notice.Very few people actually pay attention to the backgrounds, especially in movies.I like getting the BD's so I can pause certain parts and look at the worlds they create since that's what I want to do. since this thread is going down the drain (and has already done so in another way) I am feeling mildly shit posty so I'd like to pitch a fanfic idea that's been kicking in my head all morning.(spoiler'd for faggotry, as the norm)Basically the origina concept movie still half-applies. Sun City is another citystate on the same continent as Zootopia but with different and harsher laws regarding predators. Nick is older than he claims and actually a refugee from there (and there are a lot more refugees than just him). Unfortunately, being a very dark police state Sun City (I think the name was) is, they've begun dispatching diplomats and agents to track down 'wanted felons' and negotiate the assistance of Zootopian law-enforcement.on a scale of spastic colon to irritable bowel syndrome, how shit is this?
>>80861434>Return to Never LandI was not aware that this existed.
>>80861651If you're just going to make shit up, why not make your own story with your own characters?
>>80861651Wait, that was the original name of the city in the original version of the film?
>>80861685honestly, just wanted to get that damn thing out of my head.I myself much more prefer the idea of standard cop show stuff mixed with cute.
>>80861685>why not make your own story with your own charactersThis gets asked a lot. And there's a very simple answer. Authors get more readers with familiar branding. That's simply it.Same thing why a lot of original screenplays are repurposed into sequels of already-popular franchises. It gets seats in the theaters. In this case, eyes on your fic.Dishonest? Maybe, depending on how the author feels about sticking to the feel of the original work. But does it work? Fuck yeah.
>>80861728except that many of those screenplays are original works, and are then re-purposed after they're bought. This is just being a lazy asshole.

>>80862957Maybe. Or maybe he just tried creating life on another planet in another universe just to see how it turned out. The result is a world where death, prejudice, and issues still exist but are generally less extreme and everything tends to work out in the end. Then again maybe I'm just a Christian trying to find meaning/information about the afterlife and God under every rock.
