If you could change one thing about Zootopia, what would it be?
>>80779792The ending felt a bit rushed, so add like half an hour to it I guess.
>>80779792Turn everyone into humans.
Credits start rolling after that part where Nick bites Judy's neck.
>>80779792I think it was perfect as is. Granted I really do want to see Judy and Nick end up together but I'd rather that be touched on in a sequel and fleshed out properly. Oh and I felt Gazelles name lacked any thought. I mean a lot of names were sort of lazy. Otterton, Weazelton, Lionheart, but Gazelle's is just plain ol' Gazelle. Speaking of Zootopia I've an idea in my head for a little story that happens after the movie but I'm not a writer. Should I just forget about it or try typing it out and see how badly I get ridiculed for it on an anonymous image board?
>>80779792Not much, there's a lot if like to see out of the world though. The other districts, a car chase, and badass cop stuff with Nick and Judy to name a few.
More time with Bellwether. More time trying to learn her motivations. A slower response time from the ZPD.
>>80779792More Nick.
>>80779939You're anonymous. What's to lose?
>>80779857It was already about an hour and 45 minutes long. How many Disney movies go past the two hour mark?
Take out pigs and sheep since domestic animals supposedly don't exist in that universe
>>80779939Type it out for sure. But beware, some of the mods don't like fics getting posted in these threadsSo for best results, don't post in a fast moving thread I guess
>>80780091Not even as a pastebin link or something?
>Fear ALWAYS worksWhat did she mean by this?
>>80780028I do feel like climax could have been a little longer, though I dunno how unless we just saw more of the museum.
>>80780028idk dude this is the first movie i've seen in like two hundred years
>>80779939I think it's her stage name. Maybe there's an aesthetic movement associated with the naturalists. No clothes, no names, just pure animal roots. But no meat eating, unless both parties are into that.
>>80779792Flesh out Bellweather a bit. She had a shitty job, but lots of people do. She was still one of the most powerful people in the city. Hell, if she either didn't officially put Judy on the case/let her use the traffic cams or quit as soon as Lionheart was arrested, she would have won.I've also been thinking about writing a fan work until the sequel comes out. Something to do with Zootopia's nocturnal denizens.
>>80780113As far as motivating large masses of people goes, fear usually gets a strong reaction quickly.
I'd give the cops and Judy guns. Even if they never fire them, I'd feel this would make the world feel just a bit more real. Also maybe make the movie 10 mins longer to flesh out Bellwether just a bit more
>>80780108A pastebin might get by, definitely not a FFnet link.
>>80780064That is a good point.
There is nothing better than an aggressive short girl.prove me wrong.
>>80779792More Finnick, more exploration of the city.>>80779857>>80779981This really. Cannot help but feel like the climax was very underwhelming and a bit rushed..
>>80780170Well they have tasersJudy didn't for the movie since she didn't have access to police resources, but apparently in one of the picture books that takes place after the movie, she has a taser
>>80779902Then what will be the conflict?
>>80780205>There is nothing better than an aggressive short girl.Except agressive short girl with strong thighs.
>>80780170Honestly even without guns it felt rather real in the sense that normal things like death scare them. I mean we see characters in Disney movies die before. Bambi's mom, Mufasa, so death isn't foreign. Them mentioning it a lot however is. The drill sergeant at the start says it about a dozen times, Nick asks Judy if she's afraid he'll eat her, Judy and Bellwether mention it at the end when she darts Nick. I bet they didn't have real guns because they wanted the main dangerous thing in their world to be... the animals themselves. The predators could overpower many of the smaller animals easy, herbivores like Bogo could tear the shit out of almost anybody outside of maybe Elephants and other very large animals. The danger is already there in a way, but in another it isn't. Because they're all like any normal person in our world: Just trying to get by without much hassel, get home, relax, and try to be happy.
>>80780113She's a politician. She isn't just a random secretary Lionheart promoted to assistant mayor for the sheep vote, she has been playing her cards right who whole career. Fear is what she used to get the sheep on her side and keep them loyal and she knew that she could use it to control Zootopia. Fear made her who she is and fear gets her what she wants.
>>80780205An aggressive short boy Yes, I know he is much more older than he looks.
>>80780257Same thing but with different races religions and other things of that sort
>>80779988As you wish
>>80780322>he looks three years old but he's actually 41!>veterinarians hate him!
>>80780322i lost the picture of him listening to musiccan you help?
>>80779792Reverse the changes back to Nick being the main character and bring back the shock collars.
As much as I hate being a shipperfag, I really wished there were something more between these two. The chemistry between them is way to good to ignore. The writers tried to make their relationship platonic, but I couldn't really see it.
>>80780386I have saved that from the webm anon, but thanks.
>>80780205>>80780288Can confirm. My ex-girlfriend was 5'0" high test beauty and used to play soccer. 34DDD, huge thighs, and pretty bright blue eyes. Best of all, she pursued me for some odd reason. I'll never forget when she was showing off her Halloween costume (Kim Possible) to me and she took off her pants and was wearing some spandex shorts underneath. Since I'm an autist, I didn't get the hint until a few weeks later when she came into my room at night and basically sat on my face.
>>80780390>ars old but he's actually 41!>>veterinarians hate him!top kek.
Not make the fucking bunny hot pants padme for the fox
>>80780397I don't have it.
>>80780406There are all sorts of little nods hinting towards a future relationship, I think it's the writers covering all the bases for sequel material.
>>80779792Nothing, honestly.
>>80780406>The writers tried to make their relationship platonicYou haven't seen their Spotify playlists, have you. If anything, they were just trying to set it up so the two of them getting together is a supremely satisfying conclusion instead of just a standard Disney Male/Female lead pairing.
>>80779981sheeps conspiracy
>>80780319To add to this, the sheep have been largely fearful/hateful to foxes in particular. Nick implies that they always avoid him. "They never let me get this close."
>>80780406I don't think it's so much that they wanted it to stay or just be platonic, but that they wanted the characters to be natural. Normal people just don't instantly want to marry someone who seems interesting. Nick and Judy dislike each other at first and actually get to know one another quite a bit as the movie goes on. They have a genuine reason to be stuck together and to interact. Now in the sequel if they aren't a couple, get married, or at least have a really cute little kiss scene at the end where Judy just tackles him and nearly makes out with him, I'll be pissed. The chemistry was way too good and Judy already cried her eyes out thinking she'd never have Nick in her life again. >>80780399This really shouldn't look sexy.
>>80780487That image pleases me
>>80780423>exYou blew your chances to have a pregnant high test waifu.
>>80780113"What did he/she mean by this" is a cancerous /tv/ meme. You'd be well served to add it to your filter list.
>>80779981Thirded. Would have helped if she spoke about her getting bullied in the past by preds and how even as she got older she just got bullied more and more to the point that when she was in government office, she was still getting bullied by preds to the point that she was warped into thinking they were all bad
>>80779792Id have maybe added a good four or five minutes. Just for additional scenes involving Mayor Lionheart and bellwether. Set the stage for the coup besides the obvious 'she has to deal with his bullshit'
Nice shot, Carrots.
>>80780534>Sheep>Not LizardsThey blew it.
>yfw he spoke.
>>80780628i fucking died
>>80780567Thanks, it's freshly made.
Was nick lying about his scams ?There's only so many elephant ice cream shops in the city, and where is all the money going ?
>>80780437>At the end of the movie>Nick: You know you love me>Judy: Do I know that? Yes. Yes I do>Whole theater has a moment of awkward silence.Lol it was almost like two friends are flirting publicly in the open and makes everyone uncomfortable. I swear I don't feel the "platonic" feel.
>>80780646Thanks for the dank memes
>>80780628
>>80779792I wanted Judy to get affected by the drug (not in the same setting or situation as the end of the movie) and Nick having to do some sleuthwork on his own to find a way to cure her WITHOUT resorting to any sort of "love conquers all, just hug her and she snaps out of it" quick fix.
>>80780399That setting was horrifying. It's good they dropped it.
>>80780649He never said they were all the same scam. I'd wager he's got all sorts of things lined up, the pawpsicle one being the one we see most especially with him eating one at the end. >>80780658I don't feel it's platonic either but I don't want to get my hopes up at the same time. Mainly because it feels like every time I like or hope something happens in various forms of media that I enjoy, it doesn't happen or is done poorly.
>>80780234>>80780170Tasers and Tranq guns are in the basic cop arsenal. And according to the artbook, Judy wells Kevlar and bigger officers wear metal plates for defense against guns. I am sure the SWAT team equivalent or heavy security uses legit firearms.
>>80780649He's smart. I'm sure he's got a different scam for every day of the week.
>>80780628>mfw "SHE HUSTLED YOU GOOD!"

>>80780628It was deeper than I expected. Also, thought for a while it was just a kid, until you fucks ruined it for me.>>80780555>tfw you get touched the right way>>80780649I kept wondering about that.
Show off more of the city.I would take a 5 minute short of Judy and Nick stopping a crime on a regular day at this point, just so we can see more of Zootopia.
how to draw finnick?
>>80780774I didn't pay attention to these people before, but I fucking love Glenn and Byron now.
>>80780798
>>80780840This. Just start showing Zootopia shorts like Pixar shows Toy Story shorts and we're good.Show other parts of the city, how stuff works, etc.
>>80780866Draw earsDraw the rest of the fucking finnick
>>80780720Yeah. I was trying to think about how the commercials would go and it's like every scene with a predator would remind the audience that these fun little animated characters are actually violently oppressed and enjoy a lower quality of life due to living in a world of prejudice. I was thinking there'd be a montage set to Danger! High Voltage that shows how many times Nick, Clawhauser, and Honey get shocked during the course of the movie. Fun for the whole family!
I would have liked it if they integrated more of the original story into the released version's like having a nightmare sequence with the shock collars, and getting to now Nick more
>>80780798>not TUSKbun
>>80779857>>80780028I don't know about a whole half hour myself.Probably more like five to fifteen more minutes so we can dedicate a bit more time to development of other characters and maybe just an extra minute or two to it at most.
>>80780882Well it seems likely we will get at least one short in the future, which would probably just be them solving a crime. I'd be surprised if they didn't try to show off a place in Zootopia we haven't seen yet
>>80780322
>>80780905Bogo mentions SWAT near the end of the movie
>>80780837Full version of that gifFor some reason tumblr users like to cut even the shortest clips into multiple gifs, it's kind of a hassle
What boards could exist on Zootopia's 4chan?
>>80780905>Clawhauser with the shock collar on the left.God that looks sad.
> tfw Ed Ed and Eddy like series with nick, fennek and flash respectively always causing trouble with their scams
Have Nick go savage for real at the end
>>80780980How did people even find this gif in the first place? Just how far in development did they get with the original script?
>>80780882
>>80780994"gbt >>>/trash/ you fuckin' humie scum"
I'd probably tone down Judy's character. She doesn't have much growth up until 3/4th of the way through the movie when she turns out to be a flagrant racistAlso Nick actually harming her when shot.
>unrelatedPeople making "zoosonas" but claiming they arn't furries
>>80781027>waitress on the far rightWow, so Bellwether really is an exception. Must be hard being some kind of mutant freak.
>>80780994no human-fuckers allowed
>>80779792The scene when Nick walks out of the room after he argues with Judy.
>>80781021There was a small making of feature on disney channel, and this was in it.Its the only animation we've actually seen from the original script though. All the other work they did on it has not been released and may never be sadly.I'm just holding out hope they show more in the BD release
>>80781061Around here, nobody condones those people. Any talk of "zoosonas" are just ridiculed>>80781034>I'd probably tone down Judy's character.Judy's entire character works because of how energetic she is
Just look at him
>>80781027Holly shit, It's that scene from Blacksad all over again. The one in a scalie bar.
>>80781074>contact lenses
>>80780994You got the basics: /a/, /b/, /v/, /co/, etcMaybe /pd/ for a predator board and /pr/ for prey./lil/ for little animals, /big/ for big ones. /pol/ would be a hotspot for sheep blaming the preds for everything, shit like that. And probably more sub-boards beyond that. Ape-fuckers are in /trash/, etc.>>80781027Did the artist for Blacksad draw this? Really reminds me of his work.
>>80780714ThisssssssIf she went crazy. Also Nick felt useless to me desu. He was constantly being one upped/outsmarted by Judy
>>80780905It would have been nice to see Clawhauser an Bogo out of uniform at the concert. It didn't make much sense for them to be together like that.
>>80781080I honestly don't get the appeallike, no fur? No scales? Just. . .leather? If I find out my child has anything human on his pc I am disowning him>anyone have that comic where a fox mom walks in on her son while jacking it to human porn?
>>80781097
I'm just gonna watch Arrested Development again to distract me from my growing obsession of Zootopia
>>80781101Yeah, that's been the consensus for why she and Frufru have humanoid eyes while their peers don't.But even then, she's a like a midget or a dwarf among her people. >>80781264No, because I have a non-zootopia waifu.
>>80781027It looks like sheep are stuck in 1950-60s midwest America.Which would also explain why Bellwether loves Fleece(Grease), and wears a pompadour. They must look gang/biker culture.
>>80781264No. But I'm drawing less weird porn and am trying to draw more legit stuff to maybe one day work for a company like Disney instead of serving tables for a living.
>>80781101>>80781173The black sheep in the prologue had normal eyes instead of sheep eyes too. Also you can barely see Mr. Big's eyes on one shot. He clearly has the same as his daughter's.

For equity's sake he probably should have saved her when they jumped from the train, but no, they jumped separately.

>>80781358I though part of the joke is that the joke itself was putting you in judy's shoes in the context of the scene
>>80781412Speaking of fighting couples, Judy's neighbors. Think we'll ever know for sure? It's cool that regardless of them being a couple or not, we know that animals fuck outside their own species.
>>80781375>>80781117speaking of the train, he WAS the one who actually got the case breaking evidence while Judy was the one who insisted on trying the bring the whole lab with them.Huh, sounds almost like Judy is a Tabletop RPG PC.>"Nick has found the case with the gun and the pellet.">"Hmmm. >>80781191I like the fact that Ice was a term used for killing in this movie. When the shrew said "Ice em!"
>>80781312Yeah, I've seen that in the concept art. Don't recall him opening them much during the film.Honestly, I get why they gave Dawn human eyes; so that the audience trusts her and identifies with her, so that way we don't see the twist coming (even though we did). Real sheep eyes would make her look weird and sinister.Frufru, however, I think would have been fine with little black eyes, as it would still make her endearing, as the audience would associate her with a toy or a doll. It's kinda fun to think of how natural eyes would affect they way you view a character. Nick would be more untrustworthy with regular fox eyes, for example.
>>80781478Dawn was all over the place in this chart
>>80781478The problem is that predators aren't inherently aggressive. They're just dicks who discriminate, and keep all the nice positions for themselves.

The AUDIENCE trusts him less, and when his whole backstory comes to light and the whole press conference, we start to realize we ourselves were judging Nick the same way he hated, based solely on his appearance and race.As a side note, I'm starting to headcanon maybe "human eyes vs. animal eyes" is some kind of mutation that's been cropping up in the Zootopia-verse in the last thousand or so years and has become increasingly common to the point of dominance, but many still possess animal eyes too.

>>80782446It was funnier than 99% of comedies for adults that have come out in the last 5 years. More than anything else that probably speaks to how unfunny comedy movies have become in the last several years. However, Zootopia is really a lot more than "funny"laughter." It really touches on so many other emotions than just laughter, to the point that it's really a disservice to the movie to just sum it up as being "funny." With movies, it's a lot easier to have the status quote get shaken up considerably.People generally expect there to be some big get new developments when they go see a movie, where is with the TV show they tend to feel "safe," with the assurance that nothing is gonna get shaken up too terribly. Also, producers would like to keep TV shows in such a way that the audience can jump and easily without having to catch up, and that's harder to do with shows that have lots of character development and ongoing serialized plots.

So in regards to the whole interspecies thing: beyond the obvious reason of not being able to have kids, there are probably other strata v of how unusual certain patients are. Nick and Judy don't even have it that bad, because they aren't that far apart in size. They might not be genetically compatible, but they are at least physically compatible.A mouse and an elephant, in the other hand, while perhaps hilarious as a visual gag would be highly improbable. The elephant would barely be able to see the mouse, much less have any kind of intimacy. Such relationships might exist, although they would be an order of magnitude less common than something like a wolf and a leopard. The most common interspecies relationships would probably be between animals from the same genus or family, like two different species of cats, a wolf and a fox, etc., and from there would be unrelated species that are similar in size, though predator / prey relationships might be less common than prey/prey and predator/predator. The least common would be relationships between two species that are so different in size that they aren't even physically able to have sex.

But thats just what I'd like to see if that could be done right.>>80784320I kinda want the sequel to be somewhat down to earth. Taking advantage of the setting they are in of course, but dealing with real life issues. But I probably shouldn't hope for that too much since its a kids movie.Closest thing I can think of though would be like the first part of the Incredibles where we see a lot of the family's home life before the plot really gets rolling.

>>80784344Shut up, nerd
>>80784298They already did the two weddings thing in Princess and the Frog though. They should just let Mouth and Judy have a "real" wedding.
One of the biggest problems I had with the film is that it implies only large species ever became police officers before Judy joined the force. But who would police the rodent district? Is this why the mafia is run by a shrew? Just to form a local militia to protect rodent neighborhoods? And if this is the case, why are there so many polar bears at the shrews employ? Did they make the money first and then just hire them as muscle, or is there some deal we are unaware of going on? I want answers to these questions.

>>80784388I don't want them dating or anything when the movie first starts, they're just doing their work as usual and start to slowly develop more and more feelings for one another. If they do officially get together it's gotta be around the later half of the movie.

>>80783837https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Cinema_PackageIt looks like DCP doesn't use video or audio compression: you just have a JPEG for every frame in the film, and a WAV file for the audio. If each JPEG is 1 MB, at 24 frames per second that's 170 GB for 2 hours.3D requires two video streams, one for each eye, and you can't reuse the 2D stream in any way. >>80785153Doubted, as in, my thought before I saw the movie was "it'll never be a thing because it's interspecies and they don't want to go there", while my thoughts now are more along the line of "it didn't become a thing because there's a lot more to this couple than what a happily ever after could offer". I'm pretty confident that there's quite a few people behind the scenes that like Nick and Judy as a couple, but didn't want to do a ending where they just end up together and it's happily ever after. Considering that this is a world where legit anti-fox products exist and are sold on the market, it would definitely be a cop-out, kinda lazy, and pretty predictable. If there is a sequel, I'd love to see it as more of an action romcom, where the two of them are just starting out and starting to deal with the backlash of being in a interspecies couple. It would make a great conflict, and it definitely deserves more attention than this movie could've given.>>80785351Assuming it wouldn't EXIST is pretty naive, but the Zooteam seems to have a lot of love for the universe, and would probably want to devote more attention to the implications of such a relationship (especially one between different families, sizes, and roles of animals). So that does make whatever other "couples" are in the movie being interspecies or not pretty irrellevant. Of course interspecies relationships exist, we don't need the creators to confirm that.

>>80785458Wait at first I didn't think this meant anything because they could be brothers, and it didn't have to mean they were gay. If they ARE brothers though that'd still mean there are interspecies relationships since their parents would be. Unless of course adoption was involved but even then that means interspecies adoption isn't bad either. I really hope they touch on this in a sequel. >>80785480You know I love how true this is. >>80785458Ok, hold on, which neighbours are we talking about here? The two antilopes?
>>80784587I think the way they will handle it is that the audience can see that Nick and Judy are getting closer, but Nick and Judy themselves are not fully aware of it until maybe the third act. There would be lots of hints that they are a bit obsessed with each other like constantly spending time together when not on the clock, going on "dates that aren't dates," lots of physical contact / closeness, etc.Nick meeting Judy's parents would be a perfect example. On the conscious level Judy would have an official reason that Nick would be meeting her parents, but on a subconscious level she is fishing for their approval. The same would go for Nick-- officially him and Judy aren't an item, but on the subconscious he really wants her parents to approve of him. Judy's parents would probably stop just short of asking "are you two dating?" due to not wanting to embarrass the two of them, but the implication would be that they know exactly what's going on even if Nick and Judy themselves haven't come forward about it yet.I think it'd be great if they actually ended the movie with Nick and Judy getting married. By that point they know each other inside and out, and the only thing stopping them was that they hadn't admitted loving each other yet. If they've known each other for one to three years by that point (depending on when they set the movie vs. how long it takes to come out), there's not really any reason for them to wait it out with a long engagement.
>>80786068>tfw I'll never color like thatpls stop

You wouldn't want to offend the good citizens you serve and protect.">Judy: "Put that back or I swear-">Nick: "Alright, you're right." >>80786139>teen romance dramaHonestly, I want it to be low key. No big "I love yous" no love song, no kissing well, maybe at the end
>>80786139The two main focuses of the film were character development and social commentary. A developing romance between Nick and Judy could be used to satisfy both of those in a sequel if done properly, and I trust the directors to do it properly.

>>80786303The payoff would be the culmination of all the development their relationship has gotten and the potential completion of some character arcs. Plus most of the audience seems to want them to become a couple, so it would appease a lot of people.
>>80786295Isn't that expensive?

>>80786348If the sequel is direct-to-video I will be mighty peeved.
Man these threads fill up fast.I don't think Judy and Nick should become a couple in the next movie already. Maybe at the end of it, but nothing with marriage and shit. It's way too early.
>>80786348d2v but in 2d
I wouldn't mind if the movie focused on interspecies relationships if it was done as well as the first movies plot was. However I'd also find a lot of charm in both Nick and Judy being 100% ok with loving each other and getting married. Maybe just have them be as they are normally, great chemistry and all, then just nonchalantly tell someone oh yeah by the way we're getting married. Maybe Judys parents or something. Cue spit take etc. >>80786406Something like this. "We don't give a fuck, we're happy, eat shit if you don't like it."
>>80786358Romance is never something you should have as a focus for anything. We've already got them going from people who, honestly, want to see the other fail, to ending up being all but life partners at the end of the first movie. What additional character development do we get from the needless, and frankly senseless, angst of your fanfiction? We already have them work through the superfluous character flaws that we see they have, there's nothing to bother with at that point. It is better to strain the current relationship with a new outside problem.
>>80779792Its HD link availability.
>>80786418I can agree to that. Definitely should be a "slow cook" kind of thing.(warning: cancerous levels of faggotry ahead!)in a sequel idea I had had the most I had was the two of them echoing the "you know you love me" lines from the end of the movie only this time followed with a small kiss.
>>80786463Nick still has some unresolved emotional barriers and a fear of intimacy.
>>80786139I don't see anyone asking for the movie's plot to revolve around relationship drama. Judy and Nick's friendship in the first movie was a major component but it wasn't the only thing driving the story-- rather the story drove their friendship forward. There's no reason to think that if they get together in the sequel that it will not be handled well, because I think the writers have already proven themselves as being able to juggle multiple story elements without making any of them feel unimportant. If Nick meets Judy's parents I can guarantee you there will be a plot-related reason for it. It just so happens that they can also use the scene to develop the characters, and Nick and Judy's relationship. Plot happens in a way that the characters get a chance to be developed. That is how good movies are written.

>>80786415Disney is way past direct to video sequels to theatrical movies. That was the Michael Eisner era. I bet Bob Iger and John Lasseter curse at the moon and stars to this day that all of Disney's 90s rennaissance classics like The Lion King already have DTV sequels, because a theatrical Lion King sequel could have been huge. These days if they're going to bother with sequels, they are going to shoot for the stars rather than going for a quick buck. The amount of money to be made from DTV sequels is absolute peanuts compared to what a theatrical sequel can do.
