That's easy.
Porn is made of everything, and one of the most sexually repressed groups are losers.
One of the biggest group of losers are furries.

That said, a lot of Porn and lewd artwork is made of good things, specially this movie which also involve certain chemistry that works great in said fan works

Hope this helped so we can move on.

While yes, there is a furry fandom of this movie, my searches have revealed it's not really the furries making all the lewds. Some, sure, but the majority are people who would have done lewds regardless.
Zootopia's success, and thus the fanart, had more to do with it being a Disney film that a "furry" film.
That and well done characters. That had a big part in it.

>>
>>80774841
They are a lot of "trope-heavy" characters in the movie:

-both mains
- mayor
- the sheep
- bogo

It's the way they interact that makes it great. Zootopia doesn't even try to deconstruct character tropes, but does a pretty good job deconstructing disney tropes, and animation/kids movie tropes.

It would be really gritty but in that kinda safe and bland fritz way, the race relations would be much more ham-fisted and one species would be stereotypically black. Nick is a drug dealin, free-wheelin, (jet-flyin, limousine-ridin) fox who almost gets shot by new and crooked cop Judy Hopps, who's using her newfound badge to go extrajudicial in order to overcompensate for being the only rabbit on the force, but Nick convinces her he just want's out man, and is enlisted by her to help take down the kingpins one by one. There is much existential philosophy from Nick that's all made up BS, and Judy calls him out/threatens him for it constantly. Nick and Judy would fug.

7.5/10, audiences will loathes it and critics will find it vulgar and garish, however it too would attain cult status.

If they wanted it to be jokey, they didn't direct Bateman and Goodwin well enough then.

>>80775759
Have you ever touched a real sheep? They're nasty. The wool is oily and usually dirty. You can't even clean her up with soup, because wool would keep soaking all the water, like a huge sponge.

Smellweather is right.

>That's what virgins who've never touched a girl think is basically "I love you," you mean

If you didn't catch all the flirty hints you are the one that probably never touched a girl. The directors had to specifically guide the VAs to do the voice-over in this way.

>original story Nick
>lives entire life being treated like a second-class citizen
>wakes up cold into the musty smell of his leaky basement living conditions and has to share habitat with his deadbeat roommate/landlord slob bear
>built from scratch a secret amusement park for his fellow predators
>reverse-engineered the behavioral shock collars so that they can be temporarily deactivated and taken off
>sits in his office at the top of his warehouse and watches the other animals enjoy expressing themselves with their temporary freedom
>is framed for a crime simply because he is convenient and the big bad needs a scapegoat
>never failing to be quick to judge, the entire city turns on him, running him down as if he is a wild animal
>must use every ounce of his wits to both run from the police and solve the crime that has been placed upon him at the same time
>through his honesty and good-hearted nature he begins to change the opinion of a bunny cop that has been at the Van of the city-wide hunt for him
>near the end he gets shot with the poison that turns animals Savage.
>His pure and Noble soul is Stripped Away and he's reduced to a snarling Wild Thing for everyone to see.
>but instead of turning on Judy he rabidly defends her, as if it is his instinct to do so

Jesus fucking Christ they're downright tortured Nick in the previous renditions. Actually had to stop myself from thinking about the old story because I started to tear up.

>>There were faggots in the threads created prior to Zootopia's release that thought the film was going to be excessive furry pandering

>the film ultimately turned out to be a feel good, snuggle-fest that didn't use its original script in fear it might make some people sad (and we can't have that!)
>true to its name, story takes place in an actual utopia where the most menacing thing is getting your feelings hurt
>everything just happened to work out perfectly in the development of this world, so no plot could exist without the crazy villain's plan, which was random and out of nowhere when you look at the timeline of peace in this society
>implying there is no genetic difference between predators and prey
>there was no difference in culture between species or even between the predators and prey, even when the entire movie centred around prejudice between the latter

No, it wasn't furry pandering at all! It's not like this is the paint-by-numbers way furries write their stories.

But my biggest complaint about it is the film does more harm to its own message then good. "The key to killing prejudice is to act and think exactly the same and live in a paradise where the two conflicting sides don't actually have any real reason to have a conflict!".
OMG, fucking brilliant! Why haven't humans thought of this yet!?

Otherwise I guess the movie was ok, it was at least pretty to look at.

As a whole, furries don't. I've seen enough pictures/stories/content on the internet in 10+ years to know most of them live in a Brony-tier bubble of good feels, existing outside of reality. It's not a stretch to say the base of what's acceptable to them is done by their most popular artists. Sure enough, it is all fluff and sex.

See this ---> >>80776565 to get a glimpse of how most of them are. That original story idea wasn't even that "dark", either. This would have been a regular tuesday in the days of 90s animation.

Working on some writefaggotry alternate universe crap where Nick is a veteran cop by the time Judy joins up. Trying to keep true to Nick's character.

What kind of cop would he be? Semi-corrupt (ignoring most minor crap, letting his friends off etc)? Kinda uncaring about actually enforcing the law in general? Skimming some extra cash off the top? The cool, laid-back street cop who everybody knows? A combination of a few of these?

It's cute that you value pure nonsexual relationships but lets get real here. Judy is a bunny in her prime and Nick is a smart and funny guy and they got chemistry. This was a deliberate move by Disney to cockblock all the shippers without dashing all their hopes and dreams.
>>
>>80777172
All of those fit the Nick in the movie, so

Nick is the guy who would see that what is against the law isn't always what is Wrong.

Laid-back cop who cares more about the spirit of the law than the letter, probably. Throws the book at assholes whenever he gets the chance, though. His professional relationship with Judy would be rocky for a bit because she's incredibly by-the-book in the beginning.

When was the last time Disney made a girl that tried hard to do anything at all?
>>

>Nick and Judy's relationship was left completely open

Their relationship is less open than those of most Disney pairs who stopped at the phase "we got through trials together and then we hook up, even though we don't really had enough time to get to know each other". Safe to say, if a woman considers making up with you the most urgent part of fixing the biggest fuckup in her life, breaks into tears at the very thought you may keep your relationship strictly professional, and bawls her eyes out into your shirt when you forgive her, you're weeeell out of the friendzone.

>They subtly ended the whole thing, and hinted at the beginning relationship.

Their relationship already went past "breakup and reconciliation" phase, never mind beginning.

Also, making the main token symbolising their relationship and its status a phallic symbol is not exactly "sublte".

Are different species paid differently to make up for the fact that the cost of living for say a elephant would obviously be different from that of a vole?
Are different species different cultures? since many of the species in the movie are from different continents
Are marine mammals sapient in this world too? do they have cities?

How does /co/ feel about the ZPD being portrayed as corrupt, speciesist, vaguely incompetent, and quick to use excessive force? Not in an edgy "beating people up for no reason" way but just in a general casual atmosphere of "it's okay to give foxes a harder time because they're foxes and foxes are shifty and he's probably hiding something anyway" way.

I'm writing a fanfic and I'm just wondering if anyone else got the impression from the movie that the ZPD isn't actually a very effective police force.

It doesn't seem very corrupt, and competent enough when the Chief isn't going out of his way to block a rookie from getting anything done. But the entire city seems to shit on foxes, and Judy's presence was seemingly met with exasperation and bemusement.

But by that same token, yes, the majority of the force seems to be made up of fairly heavy-hitters, species-wise, with the smallest species, somehow, seemingly being wolves; it seems like a pretty aggressive force.

I'm extrapolating the corruption because a force that's bad at its job is likely to be corrupt as well. But it's true, there's no corruption in the movie. RE: incompetence I'm referring to how with 14 missing mammals they don't make any progress in 10 days (or possibly more for some of the cases) when, in real life, people who get abducted are usually dead in two. Apparently cops didn't even get tasked with investigating until over a week after the abductions.

Nick's past is darker than we give him credit for.

He skinned it himself. Out of a skunk he believed to have betrayed the family, but was actually sort of innocent (used his mob connections a bit too much, but still not enough to get him whacked).
This is why Mr Big is that angry with him.

Incompetence at the top usually filters through, because Officers who are capable get frustrated, make problems, and end up leaving or getting fired, whereas incompetent Officers or Officers who just don't care stick around.

I don't mean corruption in an "on the take from the mob down to the last man" way, more that cops give free passes to their m8ies, selectively don't enforce laws, break technical laws regarding evidence and chain of custody, intimidate witnesses, that kind of stuff. Less "they're criminals" and more "the way that they enforce the law is criminal".

I actually justified that as having two types of Officer, a beat cop and a rank cop. Beat cops are enlisted and NCOs from the Army, whereas rank cops are equivalent to Officers. Civilians can get direct entry into being a rank cop (like an Officer in the army) by doing additional training and having a college degree. Rank cops are like a cross between detectives and beat cops - they are charged with investigating specific serious crimes as necessary, but fill the role of beat cops when there are no tasks.

It's a dumb system but it does explain why Judy was asking for a missing person case on her first day.

It wasn't that they were afraid to use it. Disney signed off on it. The directors just realized that after getting feedback, the story was way too depressing for what they wanted to do.

They wanted to have the city be savable, but in its current state that wasn't really possible. The happiest ending would just be Nick getting out, and thats not the ending they wanted to write.

Detectives are really just a specialist rank, they're given access to more things, and have more responsibilities, but it's not like a patrolman couldn't investigate a crime. Further more we're never told anyone's rank, other than Bogo's. There's no Sergeants (though Clawhauser and Higgins are both probably Sergeants) No one's called a detective, no Lieutenants, nothing.

What we do know is that Parking Enforcement is actually it's own department for application, rather than Police Officer. Judy is an Officer and is given some other department's job.

Sure it hasn't, it still has Japan to go along with many others.

But domestically its not even close to what Frozen had. Frozen left with 400 million domestic while Zootopia is sitting at a bit under 150 million. Sure its got time to go before it leaves theaters, but its only going to trail off from here, unless like Frozen did it gets a boost in viewership.

That is hardly to say its doing bad, the movie is doing great really, and its still got markets to open to that should contribute to its success. But expecting it to pull a Frozen seems unlikely to me. Those last few markets would have to put in a lot of money to get it there.

A elephant is a herbivore but still at the top of the food chain because nothing is willing to fuck with it except humans and since humans don't exist in the movies world they could not really be considered prey also many predators are themselves prey to larger predators, the black and white distinction the movie made was really bizarre especially with Otterton I mean otters only really eat fish, shellfish and sometimes insects in a world where only mammals are sapient why would anyone be afraid of a otter?

I just came back from the cinema. In Polish dub they went nuts with the translation and Nick blatantly starts using Russian phrases when speaking to Polar Bears, ending every second sentence with "da?" with a fake accent. It was hysterical.

Overall english dub=best dub, and proper rip can't come soon enough. Polish version of try everything is also subpar.

I'm going to take all my friends to see that movie nonetheless, it was friggin adorable.

>I now own a poster (frame pending), the Infinity figures, and the art book
I'm jelly, anon. I don't know where to buy posters here, aside from printing my own. I still have to check local bookstores for the artbook. I really want the tsumtsums.

I wasn't really into recent Disney movies as well, except Tangled though I was too late to all the hype. I am pretty sure I'm not a furry as well. But there is something in this movie that makes me really invested in it, god damn.

The Higgins brothers? It's possible.

One of my major complaints with the film is the bullpen scene; of all the stereotypically tough animals in the world to fill like 20 seats, we only see like six different species.
The people Bogo takes with him to get Manchas are like four rhinos and one tiger, but this is excusable because it shows how racist he is by showing us the lack of diversity on his A team.
>>
>>80779301
>little species suffer discrimination

The only discrimination we see in the movie is to Nick, a mid-sized predator.

those movies lifetime grosses are typically worse than what Zootopia's done already.

Yeah, there's a small chance it might stay #1 for three weekends in a row but already a guaranteed zero chance it makes four in a row given those preorder sales.

And Insurgent is only at 21% reviews so far. Sooner or later someone's gonna get bored of that genre.

I think that other anon is talking about the reservations everyone in the movie had about Judy becoming a cop which makes sense from a practical point of view.
>>
>>80779367
That still doesn't mean it drops to zero, just that it makes less money than it did the previous weekend. It'll continue to hang around for a while and won't finish its theatrical run for at least another month and a half or so.

Besides, I'm more looking forward to the other other movie coming out on March 25th.

I'm generally not a fan of his style, but I still enjoyed it

It's one my favorite movies of all time. It's well-written (based on a Roald Dahl book), good-looking, and generally really good. I highly recommend it.

But like >>80779562 said, it is very Wes Anderson-y, so if you don't like or aren't familiar with his style, be prepared for that.

That's what I don't get, she didn't have anything to be right about.
Even if she might not have liked predators, she didn't have any statements about them or their savagery. That's why she had to dart them, to stage the 'savage epidemic'.
All she wanted was power. She is objectively shit tier according to that chart.

If it was the old version of the serum where it was actually unleashing their primal instincts, she might have a point.

But in the version we got where it just makes them go feral and attack anything, she really is just power hungry.

Enjoy might be an understatement. "Enjoy" is watching the film, saying "that's a good film", and continuing with your life.

Now we get to me: I have folders on my computer hundreds of MB in side and growing full of Zootopia shit. I regularly participate in Zootopia threads on /co/ and /tv/. I started drawing the characters.

I have other hobbies. People like me. I am in a good place in my life and in my career.

For most of the latter half of those eight months it was sitting in just a few theaters making a relatively minuscule amount per day, though.

Fun fact: Alvin and the Chipmunks the Road Chip is still in almost 200 theaters today right now, still making money.

>...Are there even polar bears in Russia?

That's not the point. They wear tracksuits. Nick even calls one Vasily or some other clearly Russian name at one point. The shrew clearly employs "russian" bears as protection, perhaps its a residue left after the initial draft was scrapped. Wasn't there supposed to be a Russian bear mobster at one point? With diamonds smuggled in borsht?

The only thing polish dub does is play it straight. Less subtle, sure, but funnier. As I said I prefer English dub, but Polish VOs weren't bad.

I really can't get enough of this movie because ei know there's so much more to the world they presented and didn't show.

From what the artbook is saying, the last scenes in the movie appeared to take place in "The Water Hole" stadium during a Gazelle show.
