so, how come the spanish/latino market is always left out? being the second most spoken language in the world you'll think Disney would give a little more importance

Mexican here, I was actually impressed by how the version I watched had lots of text in English shown on things translated to Spanish, like for example Belwether's coffee mug, bunch of stores in Zootopia, I don't know, I think that shit's awesome. Makes the immersion better.

Aside from Portuguese obviously being different than Spanish,

I'd say a Jaguar is a cool representative for Latin America. The cultural significance of Jaguars goes all the way up to Mexico.

Just give it a Spanish dub.

Maybe it has to do with marketing? Maybe the marketing people and their research said it's not a sound investment?

they are not latinos, living in south america doesn't instantly make you a latino
>>
>>80745271

There's not such thing as the latino market as simple as that. Do you think Spaniards want a Jaguar?? Or that Argies and Chileans would be happy with a chihuahua eating burritos?

A moose makes equal sense to Australians than a "latino" animal.
>>
>>80745678

Is not.
>>
>>80745678
there's no "racoondog" in japanese language, that's an english word, japanese use the word tanuki.
>>
>>80745678
Tanuki is essentially a Japanese raccoon dog. Just because their folklore added mystical powers to it, doesn't mean it's not a real animal.

Stop being butt flustered you didn't get an animal. There are marketing people that decide this shit.
>>
>>80745700

A Jaguar would specifically be in a Central/South American context.

Don't be stupid.
>>

Because they have a no-domesticated dog policy so a chihuahua newscaster wouldn't be possible. Corgi one is probably a hoax/rumor.

I love how Byron draws Nick on paper, he's so much cuter than the 3d version. If we end up getting a zootopia tv show I hope it's done in 2D.

>>80752041
Thankfully Netflix has already provided Ankama with the funds they need to produce a 13-episode season 3 of Wakfu, and if they do well enough they could get even more episodes added on. I for one welcome our new streaming overlords.
>>
>>80752680
sure is. remember kids, execs dont give a shit that autists will fawn over all this, they want to see a return on that investment. zootopia's sales numbers are already a clear indication that a sequel is a large probability.

Wonder if there would be a way to get the animators/PR involved people attention somehow.. perhaps twitter. It would be nice to know what reasoning led them to use Peter Moosebridge for latinoamerica and just the BR's getting the jaguar.

I know it is an endemic species to Brazil as well but, it figures way more in Mesoamerican culture, specially with the Mayans and Aztecs.

yeah, armadillos are pretty fucked up, they are inherently susceptible to attract leprosy bacteria which they carry in their blood all their life, leprosy can take up to 20 years to manifest in a human body after the first time you had contact with it. but hey! most humans are immune to leprosy, but if you happen to be that 1 out of 1000 person who isn't immune say good bye to your balls, dick and any other dangling appendage.

Their comically gigantic nuts are meant to symbolize wealth and prosperity.

IIRC it dates back to a time when tanuki skins were used in the process of making gold coins, hence the association.
>>
>>80746671
As strange as it is, I think Zootopia is actually a better film than Ep 7. It didn't have to live up to any real prior hype or try to rescue a franchise in the eyes of its fans, and the amount of pure love and effort put into it really shows. Plus Disney has always been pretty good with the talking animal thing.

That being said, I'm happy Ep 8 has gone to the Looper guy, because he seems to have more creative vision than JJ and most people seem ready to see a movie that isn't full of callbacks. But to tell the truth, yeah, I'm more hyped for a Zootopia 2.

I just got a camrip of the english version, and after watching it 4 times dubbed in theaters it really sounds weird. I'm starting to doubt going to watch it another time since it will only contribute to this odd feeling when watching it in its original language.

I hope it's due to the weird echo it has, and not because of the voice difference. But I guess I am fucked anyways.

That phrase has been detached from the concept of a god, especially when it's within a godfather reference. Not that it really matters what human religions they gave the anthropomorphic animals. It could not matter less.
>>
>>80763006
Well Christianity and the concept of God at the very least exists in Zootopia. You have Nick say "Oh my God" multiple times and one of Mr. Big's men crosses himself.

I wonder what everyone's religious leanings are.
I suppose
>Nick is catholic from his days of running with Mr. Big.
>Judy being a farm girl is Protestant
>Bellwether is Jewish maybe?
>>
>>80763289
Why do you assume they even care about religion? Why do you care so much? Just go write fanfiction of it.
