If Nick earns $200 a day and doesn't pay taxes why is he living under a bridge?
Nobody wants to rent to a fox. The Elephant didn't even want to sell him a Popsicle.
>>80709157Maybe he buys lots of useless shit.Or he was lying.
Who would rent to someone who claims they don't have an income?
>>80709157He give his money to his mom. His mother is poor, remember the boyscout scene and his uniform.>>80709390You mean he has to pay blackmarket prices to get his everyday stuff?Outragious!!
Wasn't he living under a bridge AFTER Judy busted his popsicle ring? Therefore no more income?
Have you even owned/rented a house? Usually the owner/landlord goes through your salary and other stuff. Nick would been caught out, like he did with judy
>>8070915750% or more would go to Finnick
>>80709157He give half of it to Fennick. So it isn't exactly 200$ a day.
>>80709551>>80709590Didn't see see in the movie he only got a $40 cut?Which is weird since it's his van and he is the one that has to dress up as a baby.
>>80709447>His mother is poor, remember the boyscout scene and his uniform.Don't make me anon ;_;
>>80709157Just because you have the money, doesn't mean that people will be willing to do business. Just ask non-white potential home buyers in the 1950s. >Oh, you may have the money but we have "codes" that keep people like you out of this neighborhood. You can go live with the other people that look like you, Mr. Fox.It's partially a reason why chinatowns and predominantly black or hispanic neighborhoods exist.
>>80709157>under the bridgeHe lives in an apartmanet based on the concept art, and he probably didn't earn EXACTLY 200$ a day. And since he pay Fennick 50%, he earn less. Like in the actual movie, he payed him 60$ so he probably only earned 120$ as a whole.
>>80709738I want to see Nick drawn as Spike Spiegel.
>>80709157to avoid taxes 2bh.if you have a preperties, gov will notice you earn some money
>>80709755Reminds me of some of the apartments in FF7.
Why does everyone think he lived under the bridge? I don't remember seeing much in the way of possessions down there, he just had a lawn chair set up near the bridge.
>>80709790Most /co/s spend their lives at their designated chair. If Nick's chair is there, thats where he lives.
Better question; If Zootopia has sections set aside for smaller animals like rodents and such, why aren't there rodent police officers assigned specifically to those areas when it was shown that a creature the size of even a rabbit risks large amounts of property damage by just walking into the area?
>>80709904It wasn't like he was lounging on a chair on his patio. It was literally next to a bridge with no apartment anywhere nearby. We also never got to see where he lived. It's not insane for a viewer to wonder if Nick was homeless, especially since this scene was after Judy did her speech. I actually assumed he got kicked out of wherever he was living because he was a predator.
>>80709972Just becasue it wasn't spelled out to you, doesn't mean there isn't such thing. Same with birdman and reptiles. They may be evolved but just not shown. The point of the movie wasn't to explain ENTIRE philopsophy behind theit univerese.
>>80709972Imagine how you'd feel if, when someone broke the law, Godzilla attacked the entire city.Nobody who values their life is going to break the law, and the rest of the city isn't gonna look kindly on people who consider it.
>>80710178>implying desperate mice criminals would care about the cityThere is most likely a police force for smaller creatures. Why do people assume that something doesn't exist if it wasn't shown on screen? Do people assume that Nicks parents are dead and that Zootopia is the only city in their entire world just becasue the movie didn't spend 23 hours showing documentary about their world and how it works?
>>80710216You're taking an extreme position. Movies don't have to show everything, but they do have to show some things in order to maintain a cohesive setting.
>>80710216>Why do people assume that something doesn't exist if it wasn't shown on screen? Do people assume that Nicks parents are dead and that Zootopia is the only city in their entire world just becasue the movie didn't spend 23 hours showing documentary about their world and how it works?I think all the characters are hollow because we are never shown their organs but also because I'm a 3D modeler.
>>80709972Better better question: Why did nobody actually shoot darts? Bellwether and her cronies talk about "darting" predators, but they're just shooting paintballs of serum. How would that even get in a predator's system that fast?Did they replace the darts with paintballs just so Nick's fakeout would work?
He spends it on drugs
>>80709972Impossible, that would mean that a mice serial killer would never get caught. it is neccessary for Zootopia to have additional police force and detectives that would cover the smaller creatures.
>>80710307darts remain evidence
>>80710307Disney cartoon, no guns or stabbing allowed.
>>80709972Everyone in Little Rodentia is paying "protection" to Mr.Big and is enforced by his familia.
>>80710428Judy gets a very severe leg wound at end though, blood and all, from accidentally stabbing herself.
>>80710531Accidents are different from intentionally hurting someone
>>80710561That otter mauled the panther and tore his eye out.
>>80710569Well you destroyed my argument. You have won.
>>80710583Gideon slashed Judy's face when they were 9 years old.
>>80710694I have admitted defeat and you continue your onslaught. You are an absolute mad man.
>>80710705Actually we're a bunch of different guys. Right now this argument is the equivalent of you being shoved to the floor and kicked by a bunch of strangers.
>>80709157The IRS would bust his balls.
>>80710711So when do we pull out our dicks and make him blow us?
>>80709619Considering it's $15 for an elephant sized popsicle, I think the price of living is cheaper when they're smaller.
>>80709157Nick is the sort of guy who got the idea of dealing a heavy insult to a mafia don for what could not be more than a few bucks. Most likely he made a few terrible investment decisions along the way or messed with the wrong people. Or he just spends it all on gambling, weed and whores.
>>80712688Also, in Zootopia, you're free to eat whatever plants and animals not found on private property for sustenance.>>80712949>Nick is the sort of guy who got the idea of dealing a heavy insult to a mafia don for what could not be more than a few bucks.Yeah, that was pretty fucked. Brutal as he can be, Mr. Big seemed to be one of the more reasonable crime bosses out there. Anyone else would have outright murdered Nick for tricking them into using furry garbage as their grandma's burial shroud.
>>80710856Zootopia Internal Taxation Servicesor ZITS
>>80713472Zootopia Infringements and Taxation Service works too, considering the same body is usually responsible for collecting fines and taxes (oh the irony).
>>80713472Finnick: Ha-ha. You guys are Zits!ZIT Stooge: The T also stands for Taxidermy. (opens briefcase)Finnick: I mean, you guys are Z-I-T-S guys.ZIT Stooge: Better.
>>80709755>>80709795>>80709738>STILL bigger than Judy's apartment
>>80709157>If Nick earns $200 a day and doesn't pay taxes why is he living under a bridge? If that's the case then that's probably exactly why.Homeless people rake in a lot of untaxed income. A daily take of $200 for a homeless guy panhandling is about right, at least if Orlando, FL can be taken as a metric.
>>80712626>give him a kissm/f?i wonder if nick has any fangirls... we all want to _hug the bunny, but what about the fox?
>>80713873I want to hug the fox.
>>80713873i bet nick has a lot more fanboys than fangirls
post more fox
This is the first time I've been in these generals and actually read the fan fiction
>>80714432this is a christian board!
>>80710293This film actually defined, refined, and proved a set of new algorithms for graphics that ensure everything on the screen is full of organs. Pretty neat.
>>80714670that's.... kind of gross.
>>80709157If an A press is an A press, why can it be a half A press?

Why would Judy, a police officer, remain friends with a violent criminal (Mr. Big). Isn't that like an example of corruption?

>>80715230why would a common plant make animals go crazy?it's a kid's movie, duh!
>>80715230>Isn't that like an example of corruption?Yes, but Judy is too naive and good-natured to see it that way
Do you guys think the sequels will explore the possibility of other cities inhabited by sentient reptiles or birds?
>>80710569To be fare his eye wasn't torn out, just badly injured. You can see both eyes intact when he's darted.
>>80715243No,but i was never a cute bunny/fox
>>80715230>Why would Judy, a police officer, remain friends with a violent criminal (Mr. Big)He doesn't want it sold near schools. He doesn't want it sold to children. He's an anti-villain.
>>80715321I'd rather see one about Zootopia: Ukraine.
>>80709619 200$ a day, not 200$ a hustle.
>>80713873I'm a gril and I kind of want to drag my tongue over Nick's paw-feet
>>80715321Please no reptiles, please. But I'd be curious about how they'd portrait birds in a realistic way.
>>80709157I thought his tax forms gave a place of residence. He doesn't so much live under the bridge as hang out there.
I'd suck Nick dry. No homo, though.
>>80715531that's... kind of hot.
>>80709972I forgot who said it but it went something like thisKids will see a singing crab and know real crabs dont sing and dont being up real life logic.Long story short stfu and stop over thinking a kids movie you autist
>>80715941Grant Morisson said that.
>>80710428Tell that to Bambi's Mom. Also Tarzan's Dad
>>80715321>>80715533I think birds, alongside fish and insects, are the meat animals. And reptiles, amphibs, sharks and insect are the dangerous animals in their world.
>>80709972>>80715941Say that to the artists of Zootopia, they thought a lot deeper. And its just a kids movie they made.Sometimes, its like "dont overthink stuff" but it can always be funny to spin the story or world forth. It keeps your grey matter healthy and creative.
>>80716647I'm kinda glad they got rid of that tuff of hair. It makes her look a lot more masculine.
>>80716668I would like to know the context of Darted Judy and Zombie Judy
>>80714567What fan fiction are you talking about?
>>80713873Nick is my favorite character
>>80709157Not sure if he was living there or if that's just the place he'd hang out after Judy made Zootopia worse for him. Even Finnick was laying low and was more on edge because of the current climate, though he may be the type to always answer the door with a bat ready.
>>80716660>you must be this smallThis is discriminating against Chinchillas.
>>80716668>>80716712Does Cory Loftis have a tranq fetish or something? That seems too specific to naturally come up more than once.

>>80716713Attack on Titan is when?

>>80716882It was probably a plot point in the first draft. You can see Nick trying to cut the cuffs with a knocked-out Judy dangling from them in this picture: >>80716504That's probably how he escapes again. Something went wrong and Judy got tranq'd.
>>80716786Funny thing is, Nick was the main character. But after test screening, the audience could relate heavily with Hobbs, so they made them both main casts, focused on her police carrer.
>>80716758thats looks delicious to bh
>>80716873Its safety law.
>>80716952I wonder why they made that concept of kid Clawhauser.
Questions and concerns:>Little Rodentia? Aren't rabbits rodents?>Does Nick get away with felony tax evasion?>How does nick not have a criminal record? If he does how is he a police?>Judy comes off as stupid and reckless during the train chase.
Can you believe at one point in the writing Nick was in prison?
>>80716971Was he not a cop in the original concept? What was he supposed to be exactly? Kind of funny that it looks like a coincidence that he likes donuts and it's not just a cop joke.
>>80716982If they ever make a TV series, I want that TUSK guy to be a reoccurring character. With an Irish accent.
>>80717050rabbits are lagomorphs
>>80714750I think the equivalent is human hair as a wig. Fur grows back, and maybe sheep can donate for a few bucks. What about leather?
>>80717050>How does nick not have a criminal record? His hustles follow the letter of the law as close as possible, and Judy presumably never told anyone about his tax evasion.
>>80717050-rabbits are lagomorphs.-Judy's a Mafia godmother and Nick has the evidence with him.-Nick apparently is very smart in his hustles, even got the permits and everything-Judy was aching to prov herself that she become's a lose cannon
>>80716686Yeah, I'd be pretty happy too with a trio of cute arctic servitor vixens pawing all over me.
>>80717050>>How does nick not have a criminal record? If he does how is he a police?Only if its in the comp system. I think its because of his help that he got a pardon. Like thunderbolts to redeem himself or to show criminals can turn good.Remember the neck thing in the end? it looks like the thing he wore in the sketches in prison outfit.
>>80717084>Nae ScottishWeenie Welshman detected
>>80717050Other than the tax evasion, he did everything legally.
Also people forget the nice detail on his application form. He had "criminal record" originally Yes but changed to No.
>>80716718When character artists draw a character, they draw the character from situations that make sense from the pitched idea of the character to personal ideas that the artist has. Zombie Judy is purely the artist having fun and Darted Judy is probably just Judy getting darted by criminals or whatever.
>>80717050Rabbits aren't rodents.Apparently.He found all the loopholes he needed to get by before he was an adult. No criminal record.Judy trying to take the train back on the tracks as if that isn't the most dangerous thing in the world was pretty dumb, but she thought she was doing it for the greater good.

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/news/?id=4166&p=.htm>Dropping only 33.4%, Zootopia is the #1 film for the second weekend in a row as its domestic cume has now climbed to $142.6 million. Internationally the animated feature took in an additional $83.1 million, which is actually up 25% from last weekend. The jump is largely due to the estimated $56.5 million it brought in this weekend in China, an increase of a whopping 139% as its global cume now stands at $431.3 million.Zootopia had an even smaller second week dropoff than predicted. Say it with me:ONE BILLION DOLLARS
>>80717335Happytown kind of reminds me of those underground slums in the anime Metropolis movie. Colorful and broken down, probably had been a nice place in ye olden days.
>>80717402I think its more like the Bronx. And at least they had the "Wildtimes" amusement center for predators build by Nicks father
>>80717423Don't know about that. How many movies reach that mark? Still, studios get a smaller cut from theaters the longer it stays in theaters.
>>80717423ONE TRILLION DOLLARS
>>80716900I kept expecting her to be the true villain of this, a lot of the marketing focused on this character.
>>80717423We haven't even reached .5 billion yet and its out in most territories.Short of it getting a big second wind like Frozen did, I don't think its gonna reach 1 billion. Though theres nothing wrong with that, Frozen was a freak occurrence, It would be a horrible idea to try to expect all/any of your movies get the same earnings it did.
>>80717502What was the building in the background of Nick's under the bridge scene? I remember it looking like an old and dilapidated Wild Times.
>>80717502I'm pretty sure Nick built it himself. His father was a tailor
>>80717553I didn't even notice it. It might have been there as a reference to Wild Times, but I doubt it was supposed to actually be it.
>>80717502Everytime i see somebody about Nick's past my heart starts to hurt and tears roll out of my eyes.
>>80717529Don't forget, it still hasn't reached Japan yet. They might account for $50-100 million on their own.
>>80717563>>80717502>>80717553Wild Times was the prey simulator predators could go to and attack dummies?
>>80717050Judy was reckless. Judy's biggest flaw is over-confidence. That's why she keeps pissing people off and getting in trouble in the film.
>>80717615I don't know about that, but it looks just like predator fun and games. There was one of the strength testing games that measures how hard you can bite. That thing must be filthy.
>>80717615Nope, just amusement park with rollercoaster and other stuff.
>>80717585100 million for a country that small seems unlikely.>>80717615No, more like a themepark with rides and carnival games that were related to their instincts.Like instead of one of those games where you hit a lever with a hammer to ring the bell, theres something you bite to ring the bell. And ball pits and stuff like that
>>80709427This is the correct answer. With his hush up income, he's probably renting some terrible place which is worse than the bridge.

They wouldn't want you coming up later to say you deserve profits from the movie since you invested and stuff. >>80717952Judy has really nice shoulders.
>>80717988may he was punched by bigger animal like a goat....
>>80717793It was actually a darker place in some early drafts. Some reddit AMA revealed there was going to be stuff like a greyhound track with a bunny puppet, prey dolls that could be torn apart, and other stuff like that. Looks like they ended up toning it down and eventually just went and turned it into a family-friendly theme park kind of deal. But there were also lots of revisions for Wild Times, so that's to be expected. The latest iteration actually made it into the Guidebook and Cheese Caper novel.I'd really like for Nick and Judy to end up visiting one of the older versions. Both would probably be very uncomfortable for their own reasons.

>>80717988Same. His story could be really nice, like maybe Judy became somewhat of his hero after he heard about how far she made it, but then he felt more neutral about her when she said that predators were going savage because it's in their DNA, but secretly felt that he was to blame for hurting her when they were kids. He's still kind of dumb (which may be where his self doubts came from; he thought he was supposed to be a clever fox) so his interaction with Judy boiled down to a rehearsed apology and an awkward attempt to forgive her and himself. And don't get me started on his possible homosexuality.Truly, this minor character warrants eva level character study.

>>80718775Yeah I'm pretty sure that this was what they were thinking in regards to the story. I imagine it must have been the first one since we know Nick ends up in Judy's house in that one, and in the new script Nick never even leaves Zootopia. It it was the old draft, that makes seem even more likely they were more blatantly a couple in the end

>>80719011A lot of the stuff they did still went into it. And shit gets cut all the time from just about every movie under the sun.The bunny stuff was probably the biggest amount of content cut, just about everything in Zootopia still figured into the final product in some way.
So when are we going to get a Zootopia animated series? Would it be 2D or would they do 3D animated with lower quality, possibly with cell shading or something to mask it?
>>80719011>Stanton suggested a radical change. “Let’s take a chance just for a moment to see what happens if we flip the main characters and put the more idealistic Judy in the driver’s seat so the audience learns about Zootopia through her more optimistic eyes, then bring in Nick’s cynicism and challenge to her philosophy later.”>“That really did the trick,” notes Howard. “It was kind of a chiropractic adjustment: the pieces are there; you just have to kind of go snap! then everything starts to flow. Okay, we figured out the problem -- now we have to tell the crew things they’ve been working on for years are no longer in the movie. It was a big task for them to try something new; their eyes started to twitch…”

>>80719011tfw they make it sound like it wasn't THAT frustrating.tfw they are actually very frustrated.
Also, regarding that Nocturnal District.>Zootopia doesn’t address a question audiences who pay attention to that sort of thing might ask: if it’s an all-mammal city, where are the reptiles? Where are the birds?>“Right now we’re just seeing the mammal continent,” says Bush, “but we also built out the world itself. There are other places we don’t go to. We always thought there’s probably a reptile continent somewhere, the birds are going to be somewhere different, but we had to focus it to mammals for this one. Also the different boroughs that you see? Right now we have five [Little Rodentia, Tundratown, Sahara Square, The Burrows and the Rainforest District], but we built out probably ten of them that we didn’t get to go to, like Outback Island and the nocturnal district. I loved Outback Island so, so much, to be able to take advantage of the Australian animals and all the marsupials.”
>>80718838>tfw the real zootopiaIt seems, the first draft was more "criminal accused for the wrong thing, must redeem with the help of the one police woman that believe him"Maybe in Zootopia 2 the draft will be used?
>>80719104>>80719088>now we have to tell the crew things they’ve been working on for years are no longer in the movie. It was a big task for them to try something new; their eyes started to twitch...I want to die

>>80719157Well Nick is already a police officer, so the "redemption" aspect is kinda out the window.I could see him getting framed for something though.
>>80719086More likely to be 2D but considering that they'd only have to model the city once and then have 80% of their setpieces finished for the entire show, 3D could actually be a lot cheaper.
>>80719129So there's a different continent for birds?Zootopia confirmed in the same universe as Angry Birds?
>>80719011This is the norm for film, novels, video games, etc. Which is why they've started releasing "The art of" books nowadays, to capitalize on the massive amounts of concept art they've made. I'm writing a sci-fi novel, and I've gone through three revisions so far, and am probably on the verge of my fourth revision.

>>80719157well the falsely accused thing would, I think, have more impact once we already like the character and he's been given a position of respect already. So Nick, a police officer, accused of a crime he didn't commit, must go on the run. Judy, his closest friend is caught between believing and trusting her best friend, of following the law.

>>80719253Oh. Great. Tumblr has arrived.
Someone please explain the whole "Wild Times" amusement park to me. Was that going to be one of the original plot points back when Nick was the MC?
>>80719086Is there anything stopping them from just recycling assets from the movie? Obviously a show wouldn't have the same fidelity as the movie, but...
>>80719209This. It's normal for things to get scrapped in a creative project. I'm thankful the entire project/movie wasn't scrapped, like Mort or whatever that lizard movie was called.

>>80718695>>80718621I'm torn. While these two have better chemistry than any movie couple I can remember, I hate how male and female leads almost always have to get together by the end. This and Pacific Rim made me so happy that the leads didn't get together.
>>80719226where did you get that picture?>>80719209yes, but zootopia was an extreme case. 5 years of concept and story building and the biggest concepts (wild times, collars) were scrapped out.
>>80719253Wouldn't it make more sense to have Nick as white and Judy as black?
>>80719223The good thing about Zootopia is that the movie and the world are still absolutely satisfying, and the movie has a really huge chance to be followed by something, either a second movie or a tv series or even shorts. The scrapped ideas can still be used.
>>80719168I want both. Do a sequel but have a TV show to tide us over until it's out. If Disney greenlit Zootopia 2 today we'd see it in maybe 3 years at the earliest. If they greenlit a TV show we could see it on the air in less than a year. It'd be great to see some of the other cops in the precinct getting their own unique personalities and backstories too, building them up as an actual supporting cast. That's something you can do in a TV show that you can't really do with a movie unless it's over 2 hours long.
>>80719326don't interact with people that post tumblr pictures.
>>80719226>>80719244black eyes?so what happened in the original story?
>>80719326>blacks outnumber whites 9:1k
>>80718530It'd never happen, but the movie provides us with so much possibility for a game. We see Judy get over all sorts of terrain by sliding and jumping over obstacles and stuff, and I feel like that could be a big part of a game if they made one.
>>80719326With the whole, "Are you afraid of me?" and "You are different from them." Nick would be black and judy would be white.
>>80719244I still see Nick as a main character. Co-main character. They did still hate each other a lot in the final movie. The only downside is not seeing Judy giving Nick the sweet release from his collar.
>>80719216We're also approaching a point where it's getting a little easier to make 3D look good--or at last passable--on a TV budget. Dreamwork's 3D efforts have shown a lot of progress in rendering fur/hair (compared to their Penguin series), and having the stories take place in Zootopia mean working with a predefined set of environments, rather than having to develop new ones from scratch. That said, it's still four (five?) types of environments, as opposed to the one or two most other 3D shows have. That would require a significant amount of initial investment.
>>80719324Someone posted it in some past Zootopia thread. I don't know where that anon got it from.
>>80719357I've got to just save this so I can post it in every thread because someone always asks.Zootopia is extremely oppresive to predators. All predators must wear shock collars that will shock them if they act aggressive in any way.Nick Wilde runs a underground nightclub/park thing where he is able to temporarily deactivate the collars to allow his patrons a opportunity and environment to act on their aggressive urges and get out all of that energy. Nick is eventually framed for a crime and goes on the run, in pursuit is Officer Judy Hopps.Hopps, like most prey animals is all for the collars, thinking that all predators are just one step away from going savage. As she chases Nick she comes to realize that he isn't the one to blame for the crime and eventually they team up. Judy removes Nick's shock collar as well.In the end they work together to try and save the city from whoever framed Nick, and free all the predators from their collars. The writers didn't really like this ending because they felt that Nick had no reason to want to save the city. Instead they felt it would have made more sense for Nick and Judy to instead flee the city. Eventually they found that the themes they were trying to tell just weren't working with Nick in the lead, and instead made Judy the main character, letting us experience Zootopia the first time through adoring eyes, rather that from someone who hates it like Nick.
>>80719018Her bed is on the other side of the room, silly anon. ;)>>80719226I bet he got hurt by assassins. Since the story seemed to be some "conspiraty" thing or a showdown in the big stadium, where Nick thwart Bellweathers plan.
>>80709470The last three places I've rented haven't asked me a damn thing about where I get my income.
>>80719244Well we sorta had your first point. Judy didn't like that Nick basically scammed her and Nick wasn't happy to get dragged along with her investigation. And Nick could be the focus character of the sequel.>>80719357Seems Nick got the crap kicked out of him at some point

>>80715941>it doesn't have to make sense, just don't think about it!
>>80719216Not necessarily, though-- these days the line between 2D animation for TV and 3D is getting a lot thinner. With TV animation they actually rig them up much the way they would a 3D puppet, meaning that re-using animations from a library is easier and faster than it's ever been before. Most modern cartoons utilize this kind of setup in one way or another even if they appear to be 100% drawn from scratch.I could see it going either way, honestly. I expect that if the show was going to be 3D animated they'd deliberately go with a more stylized look than the movie to compensate for the models being less detailed, possibly even using cel-shading for a pseudo-2D look. They could just as likely go 2D though, because the character designs they made for the movies would actually translate very nicely into a more simple looking 2D style.
>>80719324It's not that extreme and I've heard worse, although it is pretty sad to see these ideas go down the drain. Nothing's stopping them from reusing these now that the movie's really successful, which is the bright side of things.
>>80718993And it suits better as a sequel.Like "The sheeps wont do it a second time" or "It wasnt Bellweather alone"

>>80719412I've been thinking about the collars a lot recently. The details on them are pretty vague; like them going off if the predator gets too "aggressive" or whatever. So that probably means that a predator gets fried the moment they get too angry. Maybe even if they just get too excited. Probably not if they're afraid, since that'd probably put a quick end to any escapes Nick attempts in the movie. So what if the reason Nick is so smug, and cynical, and "never lets anyone see they get to him" in the first draft is the way he's learned to never get angry or excited enough for the collar to go off?
>>80719667go back to r9kl, fag
honestly the original concept was interesting but it was way too fucking dark and depressingit would have been, like, the schindler's list of disney movies. And it's actually cheaper to just rebuild everything from scratch with lower detail than it is to try and downscale models that are that dense. There are some art assets that they can re-use but for the most part they'd be starting from the ground up.

>>80719977I was irked at the "one of them dies" that telltale does, but that spoiler intrigued me. In retrospect, 999 was so convoluted but I can appreciate what it was trying to do. I had a blast playing it though.
>>80720054Бapaшкинc - Дypaшкинc is her dubbed nickname.
>>80720048I love what I got but to really do the original script idea right, the feeling of it, how the story works, you need to have the depressing ending of Nick either fleeing Zootopia and going on the run, or with the movie ending with him deciding to go back, his fate, and Zootopia's, uncertain. And those endings are simply not what Disney does.
>>80719946>Welder/construction workerYeah, I guess.
>>80720034My bad, I'm a different anon that chimed in and I thought it's the English.
>>80720048I personally prefer the original version, or at least what it could potentially be.But I do wholeheartedly think they made the correct decision in changing it. As a family movie, it really was just too dark, and as an adult movie it would need some tweaking.I was actually telling my parents about the original draft after we saw it yesterday, and they were pretty surprised that Disney would even consider the shock collars. THey thought that seemed very dark for a kid's movie

>>80720144was wall-e darker?

>>80720132Thats a big part of it and why they changed it. I don't think the old version of Zootopia could really get the happy ending that Disney films get. The best realistic we could hope for is that Sun City (the original name) BEGINS to change for the better, but thats still a pretty hard pill to swallow. And in the mean time Nick is still stuck where he was before as a second class citizen.Or he leaves, which is just bittersweet as hell. And then either Judy leaves with him, abandoning her career she had waited for her whole life or she stays and watches her new bestfriend or more walk out of her life.Or they just jam a happy ending in that would be jarring as hell and worse overall.
>>80719292Yeah. It was a secret, illegal club for predators only where they could practice their instinscts in private. Like hunting.
>>80720223Are we talking about the english version? It sounded pretty natural to me, and one anon said that the actress actually did start crying while recording the scene.>>80720255>>80719292More of a themepark actually.
>>80719727I liked the german VO. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWk5tzd8cdgAre there any other clips about the VO production?
>>80709157We see his derelict theme park from the original script in the background of the bridge scene so my guess is he lives there now.I like to think the theme park is still apart of his past, where he lived in a shitty apartment in the rainforest and burrowed money from a loanshark to get his dream started, but for some reason or another, he couldn't keep up with the payments and had to shut the place down. >>80720223It's when you try to be calm and say things, but you're just full of emotions, so when you start saying things the emotions just flood out and you sound like you're trying not to cry but you can't stop crying, and the words are just difficult.I'm like that when I'm angry/hurt, so I try to just isolate myself until the feeling subsides so I don't have to confront/talk, else I will look pathetic and just cry instead of saying things
>>80720319German Nick managed to be more smug that I thought. He really grew on me. German Judy was just qt from start to end.

>>80720598Almost certainly a reference to The Scorpion and the Frog
>>80714750wool exists nick says it was a wool rug when he starts talking about it, but they don't mention it again so they could focus on the skunk butt part
>>80720524>>80720567I think that's with the video where Nick had his collar removed.I think it's a Disney Channel Asia (SEAsia) promo. How did the movie do in other parts in SEAsia? It wasn't that big here in Fliplandia, sadly.
>>80714750it was made with skunk but hair, not skunk butt hide.
>>80720567Jesus christ, how many fucking drafts did they go through?
>>80720620Well I don't think we want the collar removal scene because of how Judy figures in. Its just Nick looks so fucking happy in that clip we've seen. We just wanna see the surrounding scene for that because thats a pretty emotional looking 3 seconds of footage
>>80720604All animals are omnivores
>>80720620I think the idea behind it was that Judy would spend the whole movie with Nick, realize that he's more than just a "predator", and that applies to them all, falls for him hard and in the end she betrays the police and sides with him, which culmilates in the shock collar removal scene.
>>80720599I don't like it either. I'd like to be able to relate to the characters more with turkey at thanksgiving, pet turtles, and pigeons flying around the city. Makes the town more boring and more racist at the same time.
>>80720599>>80720703I think they didn't really completely confirm, only that they entertained such a thought, and most likely to shut those who keep asking. I think they really also want Zootopia and the movie in general to be unique that way.
>>80720635If you are talking about the fic, I'll probably update it later this week, since my bro isn't coming home for spring break, I'll have a lot more alone time to write with than I was expecitng
>>80720620>The old Zootopia... >>80720647Yeah, but I get the feeling wool might be more taboo than illegal.
>>80720691the point is foxes can subsist primarily on plants or animals. deer couldn't survive on just squirrels, cats can't survive on just plants, etc
>>80720647Not to mention those cute sweaters Mrs. Otters on knits.
>>80720674This is pretty common with just about anything. Movies, books, comics, vidya. Theres a 99% chance that whatever the final product is is not the same as how it started out.
>>80720647>>80714750I remember reading somewhere that Bellwether's outfit is made of wool
>>80720674Big projects like this go through a lot of drafts and often last for years, even decades. Tangled had a notorious scrapping too, and the budget bloated because of it.
>>80720724I also hope that it stays mammals only. It would make their world more relatable as there would be no land fauna besides insects otherwise.
>>80720743that's his point, the collar-removal in and of itself doesn't do that. it's just "ok she's stopped being *that much* of a dick". it would take a long time and some brilliant writing to get the audience to actually like her except for the waifufags who'll defend anybody, looking at you , welsh bellwether apologists
>>80720635That is an attractive chinchilla.
>>80720674more than you can possibly imagine. It started 5 or 6 years ago
>>80720743Theres one issue right there in regards to it being a Disney movie. Is Judy just misinformed at the start? That leaves her more sympathetic but makes her wanting to remove his collar less emotional and dramatic. But if shes an outright bigot who is okay with the shock collar, then even though it adds more impact to her changing her mind, it makes it harder to sympathize with her as a character and that doesn't really fly too well in a kid's movie with a lead character. In a movie for older audiences, it would be just fine, but not for a Disney movie.
>>80720247They could go full Orwell and have a big sign saying "Welcome to Zootopia, where all animals are Equal" show up in the intro, with a shock-collar predator graffiti-ing "some more equal than others" under it.Then, in the ending narration, have the bittersweet ending where things look like they might get better. Have Nick say something like "there are no happy endings in real life, but some endings are better than others." or something like that.It would be thematic
>>80720829That could work in a way, but there would be no way in hell that would fly in a Disney movie.

>>80719536That was just one shot so I am guessing they have a lot more early footage that they're still sitting on.I really hope that they do some kind of documentary collecting all the lost materials together and have the crew talk about it. That would be fascinating.
>>80720873what? how is institutional racism a tumblr thingwhat else would you call racism embedded in the laws and private policies of society (which totally happened, by the way, in case you /pol/acks were too busy drawing swastikas in your notebook during history class)

>>80720873Forcing predators to live as second-class citizens with shock collars on their necks and a police department that uses overwhelming force on them with little provocation is pretty much the definition of institutionalized racism m8.

Discrimination based on race? Absolutely. Ethnocentrism. Without a doubt. But racism is "these people are inferior", and you don't have to believe that people are inferior to believe that peoples should be kept separate, even if the vast majority of dipshit skinheads happen to believe both.>tfw i will never live in a homogenous anglo-saxon society where i'm free to enjoy the traditions and culture of western society without being bullied into faux-diversity enthusiasmWhy is it so wrong to believe that people belong with their own kind?
>>80721017I always think that's egoraptor from the thumbnail.
>>80720635Those neck muscles on that deer.
>>80720961Sure, but on some level movies are supposed to be escapism. Kids don't go to the movies to learn that the world sucks. They go to enjoy themselves. And its not like movies need to teach them that the world sucks, they will learn in good time on their own, so no need to run their faces in it.Besides, that kind of knowledge requires a certain maturity to handle, a maturity kids don't generally have. It won't make them more worldly, itll just make them fucking depressed
>>80721034*Overwhelming* force, dude. In the original draft of the movie, the chase through Little Rodentia was a lot more violent and had a lot more of it damaged because the police didn't give a shit about it, just catching Nick. Escaped prisoner or not, there's a point where you need to stand back to keep your other citiz->>80721074Oh. Well, it was bound to happen eventually.
>>80720995You can go fuck yourself
>>80720995Well on a certain level, the "Judy being a bigot" thing made it to the final product. It also works better to have her as the main character since we can see her character evolution in full focus. With her as a secondary character, that focus would be more in the background making it harder to care that she is changing.Thats part of why they switched who was the lead
>>80721143>le smug dismissal of worldviews i disagree with because my time is too le valuable to waste on le h8rsOkay mate.
>>80720127Wait, Judy loves carrots, an orange food. Nick loves blueberries from the farm. They both love foods that are a main color of the other.
>>80721143Not that I don't believe you but where do we see that the police were trashing Little Rodentia? All the concept art shows is Nick running through it with Judy giving chase and holding a taser

>>80720913Yes, the promi-VO were good. Just slightly confused why they changed Flashs VO.And Florian Halm and Josefin Preuss worked perfect.
>>80721214Here, to start: >>80716672I think other parts of the art book mention it, but the "Peace" statue being destroyed by the police because it was in their way doesn't bode well for the rest of the neighborhood
>>80721252seconding the gentleman's proposal.
>>80721074Racism is power politics mostly, so the majority, the powerful, pushing out those without as much power. You can be racist without expressing racial hatred the same way you can express racial hatred without being racist. It's semantics.I guess I should thrown in a bonus "homophobia doesn't imply exclusively a fear of homosexuals but an aversion to homosexuals."Speaking of homosexuals, Gideon and Clawhauser.
>>80721171Everyone was a little bit of a bigot in the final movie.Don't forgot Nick was a bit of an asshole when he first showed degrading Judy and such
>>80721265Theres a difference between a tv show and a movie.Namely how much time you can devote to characters.I should say we don't GENERALLY care about background characters changing because not enough time has been given to fully flesh them out
>>80721009>Honeymoon in australiaSo it might be a first herbivore x predator marriage?Maybe some Herbi-extremist try to frame Nick for being an animal. Like "Predators and prey can live together, but they shouldnt bond behind work"
>>80721283Well thats a bit on the nose, but I can dig it
I saw the movie again today and there's a pretty sizable plothole that I can't get my mind around... Bellweather devised the entire "make predators go crazy" scheme to cast them in a bad light. But the Mayor was never part of it. So how was it that, when Manchas was darted, they wolves were able to pick him up so quickly? I could buy that Bellweather might have had Judy and Nick tailed to setup whatever predator they might encounter to attack them, but the wolves show up moments after Judy chains Manchas to the lamp and they escape.
Anyone find a good place to stream Zootopia yet?
>>80721084Use your imagination I am
>>80721272>Just slightly confused why they changed Flashs VO.Well...I guess...because...it's...Rüdiger Hoff...mann's stick.
>>80721387make a request, anon
>>80721379I guess traffic cams maybe? It is a little odd when you think about it.I don't think its that big of a plothole. Its really just "They arrived much sooner than could be expected." I think the biggest problem was showing them arrive right as Judy let go of that vine. If they had shown them arrive after Nick and Judy were already gone, then we can just assume who knows how much time passed between Nick and Judy falling off the bridge and getting back to it with the backup
>>80721384There's ONE shitty cam rip
>>80721283>>80716672I really want the original Zootopia
>>80720144It would have been another one of those tasteless gritty dark crime drama movies if we went with the original.I watched a lot of 90s-21st Cartoonnetwork in comparison with Minimax and Fox Kids/Jetix.Let me tell you, there is nothing mature about a bunch of asshole characters with their selfish interests over others. I know they wanted Hiccup to be an angry opportunistic geek who always has a "somebody shit in my meal" kind of grumpy expression. I know Po from Kung Fu Panda was suppose to get more arrogant and assholish with his power.Plus all those crude non-cute character designs. You know what you'd get? Those other CGI movies similar, but not really Dreamworks or Pixar.Ughh what are their names... the one with the raccoon who tricks the animals into stealing food for him so he may repay the bear he originally stole them from.Ah got it. Over the Hedge and The Nut Job.You'd have characters which get genuinely surprised when someone tries to act morally correct because of the amount of unlikable cynical characters.
>>80720684That's how I feel too. It's a great moment and it's a shame that they had to scrap it, but at the same time I'm glad that the movie went in a more positive direction. Judy would have been a lot less likable as a character if she was just another racist who eventually starts seeing the light, and the city itself ended up feeling like garbage that isn't worth saving. It was probably around the time that they decided to change the ending to Nick and Judy escaping from the city that they realized what a bleak film it was and that they wanted to re-work it into something more optimistic. When I hear of that ending though, where Nick and Judy drive off into the sunset and leaving the rotting city behind them, it immediately calls to mind a certain Bruce Springsteen song.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3t9SfrfDZMThat would have been a helluva end credits sequence.
>>80721330Right, and that made for a better plot. You could see Zootopia as a more neutral place, doing better than most places where the people aren't given the opportunity everyday to express their xenophobia. Since its integrated and diverse, people have a harder time getting along.
>>80721439;_; thanks for the heads up anon
>>80721116>Kids don't go to the movies to learn that the world sucksAnd lo, we end up with a generation of adults who don't realise that it does.I don't mean that we should smash kids faces in gore and violence, but I equally don't think we should shy away from themes that are too challenging. Pick and choose what to include, yes, but don't sugarcoat any of it. Zootopia is a cartoon waltz through "discrimination" as seen from 10,000 feet in the air. It has no impact, no depth, and ends with a lazy feelgood message that has no staying power. The extent of its theme, such as it was, can be summed up as "Don't be mean to people because they are different." You might kick and scream that it's a true and good message, and I agree, but it's not really applicable to the real world. Life isn't that simple, and even if it was it isn't that easy to just not be mean, even when you know there is no rational reason to be mean. Think of all the times you've lashed out at other people because of your own problems and been too proud to apologise for it.I want movies that are applicable. Zootopia tells us if you try hard you can overcome prejudice, but sometimes you can't. In fact, most of the time you can't. That's why it's prejudice - because it's not based on your individual performance. So what lesson does Zootopia have for those of us who live in the real world, some of whom are trapped on the bottom rung of society? None. Or, at worst, it tells them that they didn't try hard enough. And what message does it have for the people who say "differences exist and for 99% of bunnies it's accurate to say they'd be shit cops and it's a waste of time to make exceptions for the 1% who might be barely average"? Again, nothing.

The ending was always a bit of a mess because it never felt like anything really made up for how badly Nick had been treated, and it never felt like Zootopia actually deserved having him save it. Finally they just said "fuck it, we'll have him run off with Judy because that's the most optimistic thing that could happen for them." It would have been a very noir way to end it, but ultimately they decided the movie was just too depressing and that's when they had the idea to switch the movie to Judy's perspective. She's someone who loves the city and believes in it, and that's when all the other pieces started falling into place, figuratively speaking.
>>80721723>Gazelle torn and eaten by her tiger dancers.Thats just horryfying.Quick something cute to ease my mindhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyUSu4SFiKg&feature=youtu.be&app=desktop

>>80721756>zootopia: 1937No, even better:1937: Sun CityUse the old title, have it be about prejudice, and at the end they rename the city Zootopia and dedicate it to harmonious coexistence and jolly co-operation.Just dubtitle it "Prequel to smash Box Office hit Zootopia" for marketing.
>>80721727But foxes can't reproduce with rabbits and that's a lame plot.
>>80721727Wow that's some next-generation muppetry right there...
>>80721789Knowing of all these scrapped ideas now makes it a lot more understandable as to why I feel the final ending seemed so rushed
>>80721792>Thats just horryfying.Horrifyingly erotic.Imagine: you're a testosterone-pumped attractive young adult male whose busy schedule of rehearsals leading up to the big show has cramped your groupie-sexing style, and suddenly you lose all you inhibitions while surrounded by a pack of your comrades with nothing in sight but a trapped sex icon. What could go right?
>>80721617i shall attempt...after i finish doing readings for uni
>>80721850Hell, they had to bring in a third director to make sure the project didn't collapse in the rewrite stage
>>80721789couldn't they just found a conspiracy about the government wanting all predators to be seen as dangerous and then nick and Judy exposing it like in the final version?
>>80721529let's see a Nick and Judy version of this, drawfags.
>>80721880Did they? Also was it always done with two directors? Who was first?
>>80721617>Futa Bellwether masturbatingusing the pomp on her head.
>>80721789Wait, did they officially say that? What I seem to remember was they took what they had to some Pixar guys to get input. The guys at Pixar said the whole thing was so depressing they just wanted Nick to escape rather than try to fix anything. So at that point they decided the rewrite was in order.Thats what I'm remembering at least>>80721890It all being a conspiracy doesn't erase the fact that all those predators had been second class citizens for who knows how many years, or the fact that other animals were biased against them (like Judy at first)It doens't make the damage go away and thats the problem. With the final version, the damage hasn't really been done yet, they aren't that far gone yet, so we can still get a happy ending by uncovering the conspiracy
>>80720992>Already over 700 images of JudyWew, lad
>>80721880All things considered, they did a pretty good job salvaging it. The only thing the final ending needed to be perfect was to have just 15 more minutes or so to make each of the current scenes a bit longer, flashed out, and with better pacing.I feel the same way about the intro too but I didn't mind it and was, in fact, refreshed that they didn't dwell on Judy s past and police training
>>80721908The credits say >Directed by Byron Howard and Rich Mooreand >Co-directed by Jared BushSo it seems the first two were on the project from the start while Bush was brought in to keep it together
>>80721890It's hard to try and write a believably good outcome for that once the setting has reached Orwellian extremes.>"Our treatment of predator species as second class citizens to the point of making them wear collars and file their teeth with toothpaste for all these years that we comfortably accepted was all just a big evil conspiracy by the sheep!">"Oh.... well..... Fuck."The original packs a punch, sure, but it's not what was being aimed for at all. And in the end, you'd just end up caring about Nick being okay rather than if the shit city owns up to extreme house arrest.
>>80721789Movie should have ended up with them both running off. Like Blade Runner. Maybe have a little origami fox at Judy's apartment from Bogo.
>>80718233Nick's gas mask is too short.
>>80721828Maybe they can, its still a movie. At least Nick dont need a condom than.
>>80721477Its not like this is some sort of new thing in movies.Hell, movies like Zootopia are much darker than many movies during the 50s and 60s when Hayes Code was in effect. Movies for kids and families during those times were inane and shallow as hell. Same with TV and comics. Compared to then, we are doing pretty well.
>>80721330That's because he saw the fox-repellant right away. He knew she was already prejudiced against foxes.
>>80720995Guess we know where the idea of Nick wanting to be a scout comes from.
>>80721789>Yeah, that's the ending they were going with before they switched to the current version of Zootopia. No it wasn't. It wasn't at all.the writers felt that it would make more sense for Nick to leave the city, since no one felt that anyone would want the city saved since it was such a terrible place. The idea was always for Nick to save the city, but the story that they had made didn't match that ending.
>tfw you went into this movie just to unwind because you had a meh day and came out with a fangirl-tier OTPhelp /co/
>>80721727That thing isn't future merchandise, is it?!
>>80722143Just embrace it
>>80722179almost looks like a muppet.
>>80721945Or that they stopped the plan to demonize predators
>>80722143ONE OF USOFUS
>>80722207Disney bought muppet. It all comes full circle.
>>80722143Nearly everyone has. And the only people who don't ship them are just people who want them to be friends basicallyJust let it happen
I've seen this movie 3 times and got the art book. Not sure if ok...
>>80722143no worries m8 we're all faggots here
>>80722091I don't think he saw that their first meeting. But even if he did, she willingly defended him, payed for what she thought was was his kid with her own money, and gave them both words of encouragement. That should tell you more than enough about her character.
>>80722143>Go to see the film with family>Expecting utter drivel>Come out of the theater completely engrossed in shipping and worried about being attracted to the rabbit
>>80722280I'm in the same boat, though I had outside reasons the second and third time for going.Though I might go again anyway
>>80721850I am pretty sure they wanted to have a big chase scene in the natural history museum, but unfortunately there just wasn't time for it. The best action scenes in the movie were the chase scene with Duke Weaselton and the chase scene with Mr. Manchas. The train chase was also a solid scene, although climax didn't really have anything to compare with the earlier scenes. That is a major problem with action-heavy animated films. The amount of time and effort it takes to make a major sequence like that means that when the crew is locked into it, it's not like they can move it to the third act at the last minute. If the animators got excited about the Act 1 climax but not the Act 3 climax, then it's really hard to compensate for.
>>80722311>worried about being attracted to the rabbitit's already in motion
>>80722236I mean, that predators were seen as dangerous citizine. Because they are still instinct animals. Now they are all like "maybe they are not mean or killing machines afterall"Now it is stopped. The 2nd movie could be the tide to turn it "All are equall" <- or -> "predators are dangerous"
>>80722373I kinda want Nick like the faggot I am
>>80722311That's OK, I think. Personality-wise, Judy is perfect.
>>80721984Too bad movie executives don't follow the same ideology as video game executives. Meaning to release "fixes" a few months later to fix the rushed pacing.
>>80722414I suppose yeah.Btw is english not your first language? Just curious
>>80722280youre still a noob, some people watched it 6 times in three days
>>80722417more bun for me
>>80722341I was okay with the final encounter not being an action sequence. Them just out running Bellwether and turning the proof into the cops wouldn't be enough for her to express herself as a villain.
>>80722143I just wanted to fap to the bunny, now I just want to see the bunny be happy and marry the fox
>>80720048I prefer the new story. You know what other movie would have originally kicked ass if they didn't dumb it down?Rise of the Guardians.
>>80722459>Wild Boar>Not a predatorThey're one of the most territorial and aggressive species of omnivores, and they eat rodents.
>>80722498I'd like the climax of the next movie to be more than just them running from the villains. Because thats kinda all it was, they weren't able to be more proactive in stopping them.I guess that creates more of a "brains over brawn" aspect to it, but still
Are there good quality scans of the artbook yet?
>>80721597What does this say? It's cool they made something for their South Korean fans.
>>80722458Its not. Hope im still understandable. Its late here, it isnt helpfull neither.
>>80722553Just wait for the ebook to come out in a couple days.
>>80709157He spends most of that on bunny shaped sex toys form Bad Dragon.
>>80722300He literally said he saw it the first time they met when he was confronting her about her racist remarks at the press conference.
>>80722042I was just thinking the other day that the original Zootopia was practically Blade Runner with anthro characters in a 1950s setting instead of cyber punk.Dammit I wish Disney would put a team together and make a graphic novel out of the abandoned version called "Zootopia: Noir." Make the illustrations look like the concept art but with speech bubbles. I would buy it on day 1.
>>80721789What's the source for this? Because this is the quote that I read:>I ask Howard if there a moment in the film’s development where it all came together. “Yes, when we flipped the film’s protagonist a year and a half ago,” he replies. “We took what we had shot so far to Pixar to let a fresh audience take a look at it. We didn’t set them up at all, just asked them to watch and be blunt. [WALL-E director Andrew] Stanton said, ‘You’re introducing the film thru Nick’s eyes. He’s a cynic who doesn’t like the city, therefore I can’t root for the city; I want Nick to escape from the city rather than see it healed.’”and>Stanton suggested a radical change.
>>80722373>>80722491Those eyes are killing my heart.
>>80722540It was a nice change of pace from all the chases that happened. We know Judy can fight, so let's see her fight.
>>80722594I got the gist of it I think, so its all cool
>>80719709I guess you were right>>80722594
>>80722143There is no help, I'm afraid. Your only hope is to alleviate your OTPining by collecting lots and lots of Nick / Judy shipping art.
>>80717988He grew up.
>>80722654To add, I think the anon was misunderstanding things. We don't know how the original plot would end. Pixar's input was just used, and frankly they have a point.Let's not get carried away here.
>>80722617Fair enough.Still doesn't justify him being a dick or thinking she's prejudiced against foxes
Did anyone else catch the scene in the lab when Walter and Jesse are mentioned?
>>80717423I'll say it with you!ONE Batmanvsuperman
>>80722280What would Dale do in Zootopia?
>>80722732Her carrying around Fox spray, and ONLY fox spray implies she is prejudiced against foxes on some level at least. If it was general mace or a taser, that would be entirely different since she is a cop, but its literally just fox repellent.
>>80722754You mean Woolter and Jesse?
>>80722498I think they could have had both. There was plenty of room for a chase scene between Bellwether's betrayal and Judy cutting her leg.
>>80722590Celebrating two million viewers.
>>80722732So if I carried around a can of pepper-spray labeled Nig-Nog Repellant 3000, you're saying that wouldn't be indicative of me being prejudice against blacks?
>>80722457Because that's stupid. Look at George Lucas and the edits he did on Star Wars years after the movies were released.Personally, I didn't think the ending was rushed.
>>80722732>>80722785Not to mention the whole "You're an articulate fella" line.
>>80722754Yep, the whole cinema was laughing.
>>80722771Get arrested for attempting to gas Little Rodentia
>>80722540Considering they intended to have the ending in a big stadium its a small ending.I just guess not enough time and maybe they want to step up the tense with a sequel? Safe them the big bomb.

>>80722754Did you catch Doug's name and number stickied to Bellwether's office phone?

>>80722813"No man, you're being racist against me for wanting to carry this around. It's my right to openly carry nigger repellent. Heh, and you think I'M the intolerant one?"Seriously though, the fox taser was the best racist joke.

>>80722928Must be around 2013/2014. Byron wrote early beatboad. The ones from 2013 and earlier are like pic.So i guess with getting up with animation, the beatboards get more cinematic.
>>80723084Yyyesss! Fish is gr8, and good 4 u.
>>80723081I thought its Walter and you made a nice name-joke
>>80722820George Lucas never wrote and designed his own ideas. I'm sure a responsible person could manage to edit a film in order to improve it. Just like the Phantom Menace.
It seems, the first draft had Judy in the ZPD call center.
>>80722498>I was okay with the final encounter not being an action sequenceSame. We had lots of fast-paced chases throughout the movie. It was nice that the final act was more on the cunning side with Nick's help.
>>80723316I wonder how much they got paid.
I like the Movie Spoofs they did and made in the movie.
>>80722785And? Again, she stood up for him and gave him the benefit of the doubt. It's wasn't until he was he being shady that she suspected something. And guess what, he was, committing federal crimes and the like. She would've been in her right as a cop to take him in for questions. Literally the only justification Nick has is that spray, and since she didn't even threaten to use it is a flimsy one at that.To say nothing on how confusing the concept of 'fox spray' even is. Everyone was a little bit prejudiced in the movie, justifiable maybe but still prejudiced >>80722813False equivalency and where would you buy that?
>>80722654>now we have to tell the crew things they’ve been working on for years are no longer in the movieGod I hope we get a compilation of the unused footage.
>>80723268But he approved of them. Whether the edits were his whole idea or not, he still edited the previous movies. The Zootopia we got was fine. Really, really good despite the rewrites. It's one of those projects that rewrites didn't butcher.

>>80723393Maybe it will be re-used?Maybe in books?
>>80723382It looks like Nick's story was somehow going to be more heartbreaking.
>>80723382I wonder if there was going to be some sort of big event that explained how the collars started in the old draft since it seems that everything went wrong within Nick's life time.
>>80723275Because bunnies worked in administration in an early drafthttp://www.matthiaslechner.com/zootopia.html
>>80723470Well we already have the shot of Nick presumably as an adult standing outside his father's vandalized store
>>80723299Same thing happened to me once, it was just as embarrassing & adorable.
